    Pretty incredible that is your favorite watch. But that's what we all end up wearing in the end. Light, fits your wrist, durable, and solar is a huge plus. The other watches will sit in the case.

      Nice watch, thanks for the helpful information. Because of it I picked one of these up at Walmart today. It's a George brand, but looks almost identical except has a gshock style case on it. They've got different color schemes there

    It seems like most Skmei watches have a positive LCD display but light up only the numbers as if it were a negative display. This is rare in other brands but it's the best look in my opinion.
    Thank you for the review. I'll give the brand a try.

    Mine just arrived today. On blue - amazing colour! Just finished to set it. A huge bargain - 18 EUR, transport included, from China. I feel it will be my favourite too, along with Skmei 1405 - a little bit big for your taste, Tomas, but also very nice looking.

    Thanks for your very genuine and nice review.
    I almost bought this watch but I also watched another review where the watch is disassembled and unfortunately it appears it's not a true solar watch. The battery inside is not rechargeable. The solar panel is real and the watch is able to operate under light when battery is removed, but the solar panel doesn't charge the battery. So if you are outside a lot, the watch will use the solar power instead of wasting the battery. This of course contributes to much longer life of the battery, but it will eventually die because it's never being recharged by the solar panel.

    Is this female watch? It’s small watch which I like because of my small wrist but the only color options are rose gold, light blue and pink. Those colors look very feminine. All black version would have been nice

      This clearly proves that the solar cell does its job to power directly the movement. Even if the battery is a normal one and not rechargeable (as in Casio tough solar), this solar special system still allows a very long life for the CR2032 Maxell - 7 years, in case of Tomas. Normally, inside a regular quartz watch, this battery would last for 3 years, maybe 4.
      So, it is not a "classic" solar, but mostly similar to the old solar pocket calculators, powering directly the movement, when light is available (from the sun or artificial) and using the battery power, during night.

    • @TomasWatchReviews

      @@TomasWatchReviews One of mine F91W lasted 13 years with one battery, from 2006 to 2019. It is not unusual for a battery to work 5 years, but Skmei uses more energy than Casio so yeah, it is till possible to be some sort of solar system on that watch.

      @@bestopinion9257
      It apparently has "auxilary solar". In other words, there's no rechargable cell inside, but as long as it's exposed to light the display (and maybe also the quartz) will be powered by the solar cell to not drain the battery. Every button input, sound, light will still be powered by the battery though. In theory, that could just be marketing and the solar panel is fake, but I'm pretty sure the display does fade in not-so-bright light so I have to assume they are actually connected. Would be interesting to see if the watch keeps running if you take out the battery and don't press any buttons.

    • @bestopinion9257
      @bestopinion9257 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Alias_Anybody I remember that back in '90 I had cheap calculators without any battery. They just worked having light (solar or artificial), light that anyway you need it to see the calculator :) It did not worked in low intensity light though. So your theory may be correct.
