No se ni como empezar. O sea, una criatura de 6 añITOS, se planta en el escenario del Palau de la Música, ante cientos de personas pendientes de ella, entre dos enormes (en todos los sentidos) músicos americanos, Gordon y Davis, marcándose con ellos una interpretación fantástica, solo incluido, con carita casi de susto, pero sin perderles nunca el ritmo, aguantándoles de tú a tú, mientras los dos la miraban entre divertidos y asombrados, sin creerse del todo lo que estaba haciendo esa niña. Esa niña era Elsa Armengou, la pequeña de las Garrapata Sisters (su hermana Alba estaba arriba, en la fila de las trompetas) y no podía ser consciente de lo que realmente estaba haciendo ni de que este video lo iban a ver millones de personas por todo el mundo mundial.
En fin, esa renacuajo de hace una década esta ahora cerca de la mayoría de edad y se ha convertido en una excepcional trompetista, quizá la más prometedora de España por su edad, capaz de hacer cosas tan alucinantes como este maravilloso "Smoke gets in your eyes", que no me cansaré nunca de escuchar: th-cam.com/video/8H__HOVSSAc/w-d-xo.html.
Y Andrea Motis, claro, que ya era muy conocida a sus 16 años, con una técnica y un dominio de la trompeta impropios de esa edad. Y un solo de piano extraordinario de Marc Martín, otro que ya iba para figura. Y Carla Motis, Eva Fernández, Alba Armengou, Joan Martí, Arnau Juliá, Magalí Datzira ... todos unos críos con 10 años menos que ahora, todos con talento sobrado para llegar a lo que han llegado.
Pero lo de Elsa, oiga usted, es que lo de Elsa ...

Of course she is a wonderful protege, and all the other children and young adults are also also amazing. The not so young adults didn’t do too bad either. But Joan Chamorro deserves a Nobel Prize for giving these kids, direction, self worth and good taste in music.

Veo una y otra vez a grandes personas ( de tamaño y talento) y observó a una pequeñita con su instrumento en mano que sigue con mirada hacia arriba , a mí me daría sensaciones difícil de manejar y para completar alguien solamente unos añitos más grande se acerca, y hace su parte, y lleva con sus manos el ritmo después la bb si parte, muy emotivo, mucho talento y muy buena interpretación, difícilmente tendría algún adjetivo calificativo para este momento, solo me queda agradecer por volverme adicta a ud sr chamorro y a su enorme talento, ahora soy más exigente con lo que escucho lo único que puedo decir es gracias muchísimas gracias sres

If I'm right all these young musicians are from Spain. This country has a program starting at age 6yrs to 18yrs they can get a free education in
an insturment of their choice. The leader is fantastic in American jazz.
They get some really impressive resulst too. This is particularly amazing. The Galacian youth orchestra, has a great version of Bolero.
I like the way the professionals gave it up to the up and coming of their music.

After watching so many of these SAJB videos the last few years, it seems the younger musicians are sometimes a bit unsure of what to do with themselves when standing out front of the band but not actively soloing at that moment. Once their instruments hits their lips, though, they know exactly what to do!

Elsa nel 2011 era una bambina prodigio, oggi è una ragazza tanto brava quanto modesta quindi non si esibisce con l'etichetta di essere un fenomeno. Gia in quel UNDECIDED ha fatto la sua parte a memoria senza il minimo errore compreso l'inciso del pezzo. Poi, ha ascoltato quei due pesi massimi bravissimi improvvisatori ma talmente grandi che Elsa ha dovuto ruotare il viso verso l'alto. Complimenti ad ELSA dal 2011 a oggi.

Love everything about this. The little girl is shown mostly face-on and it took me a little by surprise when they showed her from the side and I realized how big the trumpet was in relation to how little she is.
