New sub from the short where you gave them the hard nose. Respect.( also “good eating” is a sign you should get them to give you the full instructions on how the cook it. It may not be “good” too your taste buds, and that’s fine but it’s a local tradition and it’s worth trying once.
Man I remember watching you a while back when you would be only going freshwater fishing now you going on expensive giant saltwater trips feeling like a documentary great job your channel has grown so much
The relief you get after everything goes wrong is the greatest feeling ever! Loved the story telling mixed with the footage good job and nice fish boys!
It’s a synch knot that needs to go over to go over both fins so it gets tight no matter the fight, the adrenaline and excitement of seeing a fish this big, it’s understandable boss, I hope you have more opportunities and I’m glad you had someone so experienced by your side!
Great video youngbloods but let me just chime in with some advice from experience! When I was younger, my cousin and I used to go out commercial fishing for giant bluefin tuna on a similar boat as yours. Usually, we just ran a two-man crew and eventually we figured out a great system. That was very efficient. One day, we bought a third person and hooked up on a huge fish. Long story short, the boat nearly capsize and I fell off board onto a 600 pound Mako. I literally could feel it dorsal fin under my feet. Could’ve gone wrong so many ways. I almost got wrapped in the line and nearly drowned with all the clothes I had on my body. My advice. With a small built like that 2 man crew is the safest and d best bet. We still fish with this boat so many years later but gonna get a bigger boat finally soon
Watching this today, I loved this. I find bluefin tuna fishing so interesting because obviously, it's so different from any types of fishing I've ever done, whether it's shark fishing on the beach or bluegill fishing in ponds. I learned in this video so much!
It has been a dream of mine to go fishing for tuna. I couldn't imagine the power of a tuna. And imagine how sore your back and arms would be after that. I also love this documentary style videos.
even going for smaller tuna is an amazing experience - I have been deep sea fishing my whole life - never caught a tuna as big as these guys but caught plenty of enormous king fish etc - such an envigirating experience. and the eating afterwards!
Good to see you keeping up with salt and freshwater content. Every mistake you make is just a learning experience youre gonna get it right the next time. Also You ain't gotta feel obligated to make an extra lure in your giveaway. Your subscribers should understand life's hard and people are busy. Hope all is well thanks you for videos and giveaways. Good luck to you all
Cam in any other episodes: sleepyhead, will go fishing whenever, sight of the sea makes him go from sleepy to awake Cam in this episode: Aura of the Captain of Seven Seas. "Hey Cam you fighting a sea monster over there?" Cam: HARD RIGHT HARD RIGHT
For someone that new to fishing this video shows me that it’s not easy but at the end you receive the reward you deserve. Love the videos keep up the good work!
A couple of things... If you are going to handline it in, buy a glove to save your digits. Get a chest harness to hold the reel, snaps on those rings on top. Then use your back, both arms to haul on the fish. Turn the damn clicker off so we don't have to hear it during the entire video. Get a Bullhorn if you need to talk / yell at other peeps, your vocal cords will thank you.
When I go on charter boats someone always gives a very detailed brief on what to do for several common things on the trip. I kinda feel like this is something that should have been done ahead of time. At the very least watch 1 full season of Wicked Tuna.
I think you were a little hard on yourself. If the fish was lost, there's an issue, but you pulled through. There's a learning curve to most things, man.
Thank god for cam. Holy crap that was hard to watch at times. Luckily he’s a young buck because an old timer captain prob would have lost his sh!t. You acknowledged your mistakes though and I’m sure ya get like crap.
The guy who snapped your line . I was working on a "cruise boat" a 69 foot Pearl liuger from Broom Western Australia . We had sailed from Marina Mirage on the Gold Coast Qld to Fraser Island for a 2 night stay then back home . The Broadwater near Marina Mirage is a 6 to 4 knot speed limit . The passengers were all standing on the deck when this rich idiot went past us doing about 18 knots . His wake knocked 3 of the passengers off their feet . when the Skipped got the Cornelious docked He went straight up to the fast boat to have it out with the skipper . He ordered me to stay on board but I led the passangers off the boat past the boat that had broken the speed limit and pointed it out . The Harbour Master had witnessed the encounter and was just arriving to ask the Skipper why he chose to break the speed limit So I just kept going to the car park where the passangers met their courtesy buus . My skipper told me later the skipper and the owner who was on board were both charged with breaking the speed limit and endangering life .
