This song starts as a Waltz with the 1,2,3, 1,2,3,1,2,3 then it has the rock bit and eventually returns to the Waltz again. Great vocals, harmonies and all the instruments used are awesome. It's so Queen.

This is a fantastic song, I listen to it in my car all the time. I knew exactly when you were going to go for the replay, because I do it all the time when I am listening to it. Ina few places, the bass actually is carrying the melody. John is so amazing.

One of my favourites David. Another killer Freddie composition with killer bass from John Deacon. What a genius. So glad you did this one. A Day at the Races is a fantastic album.

I wouldn't be surprised if the fake German accent that Freddie adopts in the final stanza was inspired by The Cabaret soundtrack which Freddie had been listening to quite a bit around that time

7:10 so true. Freddie re-shuffles his themes from time to time. There are also bits in this song borrowed from The March of the Black Queen and Death on two legs and lent to Was it all worth it (6:00).

Although this song flies under the radar (which is understandable given the enormity and popularity of Queen's catalogue better known hits), there is so much richness innit, including the heavy metal interlude which, despite its brevity, may very well well be the heaviest portion of any Queen song

Although Queen1 & Queen 2 are their outstanding Albums in my opinion...A Night at The Opera & A Day at the Races come a close 2nd. Races has an underlying disquietude about it, making it extremely memorable.... This track shows this off to great effect.

Jesus Glenys, I never thought I'd meet a Queen fan so bitter! I really hope you find the clarity you need on another channel. Sending so much hate around isn't good for your health, it just drags you down & reflects on how negative you must feel in your own life. I hope you get well soon friend! It isn't worth it seriously :)
