I think the problem with defining the parasocial stuff is today, you don’t usually have people replacing their friends or partners with parasocial relationships. But that you have a lott of lonely people who don’t have those relationships to begin with and instead of pursuing them in real life they live online and a large part of their time is spent watching those people.
Vegan Gains only move in his argumentation is debate looping. Ive never seen a debate where he didnt go back to the same topic at least 6 times to get the same answer
I get the feeling that Foodshops doesn't really care about this and is just grasping at any vacuous reason to come on to farm airtime/clout. It feels like the entire time Destiny asked them a direct question and they had no idea what even their own positions were or what exactly they were upset/talking about.
I was brought up through the Alabama public school system in the 2000s, theoretically one of the most averse states in the country to teaching uncomfortable US history. We learned, in depth, the trans Atlantic slave trade, political disputes like the 3/5 compromise, the great John Brown, abolition, and Jim Crow. The idea that certain parts of the country are sweeping slavery under the rug is a blue state/coastal state myth. It’s beyond silly.
Not only that, it's was chock full of propaganda (which isn't necessarily a bad thing.) I remember in second grade, and mind u I'm a yank, being taught about sisters holding hands being torn apart as they sobbed at auctions to go be whipped in fields. In *second grade*. That shit sticks with you for life.
No it's not, even in the state you grew up in you had a less comprehensive education on slavery than someone in New York just factually speaking given the state curriculums in blue states have more mandated educational lessons on the topic than red states
I graduated high school in 2019 in Texas and we were taught about states rights and all discussions about slavery were the most sugar coated and white friendly versions possible.
From what I heard is that in the curriculum, that specific point about skills gained was meant to show how slaves came out after it was abolished to grow a business and thrive in a way where they persevered in a negative situation exerting strength in those instances.
Okay but alot of those gains were destroyed over and over and over again. There were plenty of black towns and shops that were burned down after slavery ended that we burned down and do you want to guess the reason they were? We already know that black people persevered in many ways just by looking at our current era (albeit there still being outstanding items) and technically we already teach black history in a way that show how black people persevered without this curriculum change.
@@Coryameta Then you say that, too. Which people do. This isn't even a change. I was taught this in high school. Genuinely, there isn't a problem here. Hiding facts doesn't help anyone. If there's additional context, include it.

@@Freerezervex then also fumbling each time he was asked to source a quote or anything of substance other than being asked to provide the document itself which goes against what he's saying

@@CisternRumblings Frankly Foodshop made the VG debate look good/entertaining... and Kelly bareable.
@@Natsukashii-Records lol absolutely
1:12:55 jeez, the change in their tone of voice, for a second I thought I blacked out for 10 minutes and someone else showed up to take up the same conversation 😂😂
Not Destiny being Dormammu. August gotta chill with these thumbnails 😂😂😂
Dormammstiny
Am I crazy or does this foodshops person's voice randomly change pitch for a minute there? They go from sounding vaguely female to male. I have no idea who they are so I don't know if that was normal or not.
The idea that history class shouldn't offend anyone is half the reason everyone is so historically illiterate.
Lmao idk if you know this, but.....
"History" was not a totally chill place!
@@danielsiekiera2006 careful there mate, you cant upset the nazis
Yeah, all of human history was a horror story. Our modern Western sensibilities couldn’t handle any of it.
destiny was gaslighting here

I’m crying bro Vegan Gains was really looping and his brain got fried in real time 😭
Wait Vegan Gains has cliffnotes? Where are his cliffnotes, when did you look at them?
vegan gains making destiny do all the research then gaslight him about the content of the research he did has to be one of the most based debatestiny moments of the year
Destiny needs to keep pointing these logical breakdowns out. This was very good.
he was literally gaslighting him the entire time I watched
“If I keep talking while saying I’m looking for it he will forget I said I’m looking for the sources and I’ll be able to do my virtue signal without giving any source.” -VG
omg, destiny muting his mic made me realize that there his mic has a distinctive background noise. everything is so quiet all of a sudden. now destiny is back, the noise is back and it drives me craaazy
It’s probably noisy phantom power. If not that, it’s just high gain. Podcasters and streamers typically don’t put the mic perfectly in front of their face so they compensate by turning the gain way up. Most people don’t hear the hum unless they’re wearing headphones.
Could be a fan as well
"are you having, like, a vegan thought-loop?" that made me LOL
I like how foodshop came in blasting the intellectual orbiters, complaining about how they often go off on something really specific and destiny has no reaction to. But then they follow that up with a 10 minute bouncing through half through out ideas/examples. I have no idea what point they were trying to make, i'd much rather hear about Pisco going off on some complicated law thing than whatever TF that was.
Imagine if Destiny treated Sneako like this
Inconceivable!
Vegan Gains: Slaves? These people werent slaves. Some werent slaves, others were bad examples showing how bad slavery was. Slavery? These people werent slaves. Some werent slaves, others were bad examples showing how bad slavery was. Slavery?
The black community has literally used house n word to describe how even amongst slaves there were those who worked inside and outside and most in door labor is usually less labor intensive...
@@117Ender I still wouldn't want to be either one, but if I had to pick I'd work in the kitchen.
@@Sue_Me_Too and thats the crux of the black community that the ones inside were living an easier life and would snitch on their fellow slaves... its almost as if different positions offer different benefits, if you were the cook, you'd need to be able to read the ingredients and recipes... so now you know reading and measurements, you know more compared to those working the fields...
@@117Enderthat's true but are you considering that a benefit? Do you know why those slaves actually worked in the house and not outside?
@@Sue_Me_Tooif picking was a thing I guess, although house slaves were still treated like slaves
Vegan: "I've done some research."
Maury: "the lie detector test determined that was a lie."

VG has a way of so confidently falling flat on his face
Damn Vegan gains caught Destiny in a Izamani jutsu
no source = maximum gains
I'm not kidding when I say that VG might be one of the most entertaining orbiters right now. My mouth hurts from laughing, holy f
That's only because the current orbiters are actual dogshit.
21:02 this has been thought in Hungarian schools for decades and it literally never made anyone ever think slavery was good.
I think the reason why he keeps looping is because hes not talking to destiny, hes talking to his audience
This
Insufferable upper-class Canadian accent: "Oh no, you destroyed my strawman aboOWt Florida curriculum before I even began."
That's an upper class Canadian accent? I don't think Vegan Gains is upper class lol
@@franklingoodwin Nice thought. But, dude is a literal valley girl. Nice try tho
I listened to this live while driving to work and he had me shouting at my windshield
Vegan gains does tireless research ready to destroy Destiny, then hops in call and it immediately gets deleted from his chlorophyll filled brain
Vegan gains says "Again" about 500 times in this video and Jesus Christ does he mean it...
"Hey buddy how are you?"
"I'm doing well, did you guys come to a consensus on how many candy bars..."
Vegan gains is the embodiment of the Dunning Kruger effect
Him not having any sources for destiny had me dying 😂😂😂
I LOVE how Destiny factory farms VG for content.
It's beautiful on multiple levels
VG just shows up when it's time for him to be milked
August really crushing these thumbnails
This conversation has convinced me veganism lowers iq
40:20 IM LOOPING
1:04 Destiny: "I mean it would depend on how that fact is presented or were the context presented and if it's a good or a bad thing"
1:11 VG: "um in that case I- I don't think we would agree."
27:25 VG: A few problems here. One if depending on the way it it's uh- it's presented it could give the idea that slavery was a good thing at least in certain contexts"
34:45 Destiny: "What would happen if we do the digging, we get a lesson plan, and it's actually presented in like the least offensive or not even an offensive way possible?"
VG: "Then fair enough"
35 Mins of argument just for VG to completely agree with destiny's point on all facts. But just scream "IT"S RACIST" because he's a blind partisan, or a moron, hard to tell.
He's both a blind partisan AND a moron.
You did more research than VG and had receipts than VG has ever done before
I think the problem with defining the parasocial stuff is today, you don’t usually have people replacing their friends or partners with parasocial relationships.
Also I'm 32 for time context
No it's not, even in the state you grew up in you had a less comprehensive education on slavery than someone in New York just factually speaking given the state curriculums in blue states have more mandated educational lessons on the topic than red states
I graduated high school in 2019 in Texas and we were taught about states rights and all discussions about slavery were the most sugar coated and white friendly versions possible.
Got kids that go to school in NC and they’ve never heard of the union. It’s deliberate.
Destiny for 20 minutes asked for a source from VG. VG replies "Just look it up"
Ruminate asks Dest for a source on VG's behalf and Dest instantly provides his source and VG has the audacity to say "That's a bit of a weird source. Can you show us a different one?"
I guess I'll never consider going vegan because it makes you mentally challenged.
Thanks for the vid, Tiny.
It's so funny how frustrated Vegan Gains gets when Destiny is just asking him to show what he read lmfao
this is unironically the textbook example of the "I did my own research" meme, the dunning kruger effect ripples through space time so much even flat earthers are having lucid moments rn
The word "Basically" does more heavy lifting in this convo than vegan gains.
It’s “basically” spotting him from dropping the bar on his neck
Wow. I'm so happy I got pulled away from the online left. Watching Vegan go on with no idea that there might be even a significant portion of the population that doesn't agree with him is horrifying. Completely different worlds, indeed.
15:05 "WESTINY gives example"
Vegan Gains: *doesn't listen and loops*
Psychosis content
Vegan Gains’ straw man voice is the ultimate evolution of debate tactics. It’s so fucking funny. Will only be using it when making fun of whoever I’m arguing with from now on
Why does destiny have such a terrible time understanding vegan gains's point. It's so simple. Clearly the curriculum is incorrect and harmful.
Someone is looping in my head… Is this TH-cam video broken?
I thought we were done with Kelly jean
Leave it to Kelly to defend bartenders manipulating lonely sad people to spend more money :V
Time for the weekly VG debate hell yeah
i'm skimming through the doc as i listen. it's super brief and there's a lot that vg could've pulled from it after a quick glance. i'm thinking specifically of all of the mentions of slavery in other asia which seem to - based on their inclusion in the section and it being directly contrasted with slavery in the US - serve not as a way to learn world history but to downplay slavery. did he even open the file?
I'd bet my life savings he opened it and stared at the lines shaped into letters but he doesn't know how to read so he closed out of it
Brother, the way he was using literally, and refusing to literally cite a SINGLE quote
@@Freerezervex then also fumbling each time he was asked to source a quote or anything of substance other than being asked to provide the document itself which goes against what he's saying
Isn't Social Studies supposed to have world history? It would make sense for slavery in the rest of the world to be included
@@rome7702 Well he'd have to do some digging. It was a few days ago. He can't remember names very well. Just look into it later...

Vegan Gains made a good point that these people weren’t benefiting FROM slavery, but despite slavery… even if a minority did benefit directly from slavery, it’s better to specify the numbers. E.g., “1.2% of enslaved people learned to be blacksmiths while enslaved, which they then used for their own benefit after emancipation” …this is a completely made up example….ijs Let’s get specific.
VeganGains should change his name to FruitLoops
“I’ve read an article and did my own research” so in other words, Vegan Gains scanned the article quick with his weak vegan brain and formulated a stance to be offended.
I could endure Brittany. I could withstand Lav.. But VG is like sonic kryptonite... His voice causes instant disgust and aversion.
Well, again. If you actually look at the lesson plan. A lot of these people weren't even slaves.
Like I said, I couldn't even stand listening to 5mins of it. I don't actually know what you're referring to.
the more i head vegan talk the more i get tilted dude is literallly talking about shit he saw on a google search
Can we not have Foodshops on anymore? Legit she managed to be more annoying than VG in this video and that was a hard bar to cross.

not talking about the nuances of slavery is essentially the opposite of a social studies class. Whether or not you like it is pointless, its supposed to be conflicting and challenging.
