I have never been introduced to an error bar graph but it was helpful to watch Dr. Grande interpret it. I like that you can see the mean in each bar that helps compare the confidence interval to the mean.
+Amanda Sutton I have never seen an error bar graph either. I agree with you that it is a neat way to see mean comparison and either confidence interval or standard deviation.
Error bars data charts can be useful not only for confidence interval, but also errors in standard deviation. Great walk through description as Amanda pointed out.
Dr. Grande, thank you for this information. I have a question. Some error bars overlap but they don't reach the central point (the mean); how could that be interpreted? Thank you.
Dear Dr.Todd Grande, I have a qestion. In excell generally we can assign individual error bars to individual variables which we add seperately. But in SPSS I see it is multiple of 2 a constant valuye. Would it be an issue during my publication if I have similar error bars across all groups and variabled.

Can I add error bar to a previous constructed charts? Or I should reconstruct from graphs??
I HAVE A DATASET OF 2 CATEGORICAL AND 1 CONTINOUS VARIABLE WITH EACH HAVING 24 OBSERVATIONS BUT ERROR BARS ARE NOT SHOWING.
