Super 8 - Tokyo & New Orleans

- At the start of this year I bought a 45 year old Super 8 camera and some rolls of film. I wanted to capture times spent with some of my closest friends in the simplest way possible. I didn’t want to worry about sound, settings or any of the other complications that come with modern day film-making.
This is the unedited, ungraded, unchanged Super 8 footage from my trips to Tokyo and New Orleans with a bit of music from my friend Tom Rosenthal.

Friends: Jack Harries, Tim Kellner, Greg McCahon, Josh Cowan, Tim Sheiff and Nicole Pascoe.
Camera: Canon Auto Zoom 518 SV.
Film: Agfa Aviphot Chrome 200D Super 8.

The beautiful thing about these videos is that they are literally timeless.

Normally, if you want to do Super 8 Filming, most of the material is unuseable. I wonder how much you had to throw away....

It is completely incomprehensible to me how this video doesn't have more views. I think it's an amazing video, the music choice couldn't have been better and the clips are put together beautifully and successfully achieve to capture something that can only be described as "The best days of our lives". I feel like in years to come you guys will watch this video again and remember how great it all is now.
Hopefully not much changes by then, I hope you still keep the same friends and you are all still in eachother's lives making even more and better memories that will hopefully culminate in a lifetime lived with as few regrets as possible.

Adrian makes awesome films!!! Love it, it was so nostalgic and lovely! I know that British people often forget that England is an interesting place to people from other countries so i'd love to see you make one like this set in England.
It's incredible how this modern landscape and familiar faces that we watch in HD format seem more real in this two minutes. There's something so magical about super 8 film.
