Long time reader, first time writer....ah, you still have to play the game. All the hype in the world can work against this 'dream team' if they don't function like a well-oiled machine from the start. The culture of the Bears has been painfully morphing for decades. Predominantly a Defensive oriented team, the NFL game has been crafting a high scoring, exciting model that can excite the fan base, whether a team wins or loses. Hey, I'm a 75-year-old full time, retired Bears fan who has met many of the greatest of Bear players throughout my life, so don't blast me for changing loyalties. But I did move to Detroit two years ago, and I knew from the jump that Detroit has developed whatever the Bears think they have right now. Long history, beautiful stadium, deep pockets, fan loyalty, astonishing pedigree...the Lions will be difficult for everyone. I'm not discounting Green Bay or the Vikings but am being cautious about over selling and under delivering. The game is still played with 22 players...hopefully who can keep egos in check if all goes according to the organizational hopes, dreams and plans. I am cautiously optimistic, but as a realist, injuries can crush a team, when everyone is counting on less then 11 to be superstars. We need to redefine a culture of painful mediocrity. We hold many records in the NFL, mostly because the team is one of the original NFL teams when bought by George Halas. The table setting is great, now we must exercise a bit of caution in expectations. I expect the season to be one of the most exciting in over 6 decades when Billy Wade led the Bears to winning the National Football League Championship. Since 1963, the Bears have played 84 Quarterbacks!!! That's 84 in 61 years. The Packers played 46, Detroit just over 37, Vikings...they have used a total of 39 since their inception in 1959. Many have said that Chicago is where good quarterbacks come to die. I'm as hopeful as the best of us loyal fans of the Blue and Orange, that this new organization has created the right chemistry from the newest staff member to the latest draft pick. But, let's just let the team play the game first. We have two newspapers (one Democrat the other Republican) and hundreds of amateur bloggers and wannabe sports casters all salivating over the hoped for Bear turnaround of over 104 years! BEAR DOWN!
@@sevinbamuels6560 yes, he’s coming from the worst line and worst defense in college with below average receivers. He doesn’t have to play hero ball anymore. He has veteran receivers and tight ends and a veteran running back all who shined last year, and one of the top receivers in the draft, if he plays average, that’s 10 wins, above average even more and don’t forget a defense that was top 5 in the second half of the season
@@davespringfield2196 You’re correct! But 10 wins is still wishful thinking. I’m not saying that it can’t happen; it certainly can. But it’s unlikely; But he’s a rookie.
The same way you all turn on Fields will be the same way you all turn on CW after you all win 6 games.. It’s going funny listen to Bears fans cry like 👩.
@sevinbamuels6560 bears play washington, new England, vikings twice, Carolina, colts, and titans. That's easily 6 alone right there. Lions went 1-1 last year against Chicago. No reason bears can beat em again. Jacksonville isn't scary either. Point is they will win way more than 6
@@bryantlawson6270 Yeah, that schedule definitely looks favorable; no doubt. But you all still have a rookie starting at QB, and a subpar offensive line. 8 wins would not surprise me.
This is the most excited I’ve been for a NFL season in as long as I can remember, I was pretty excited going into the NFL 100 season. One take some people have that is just false is about the offensive line pass blocking and the run game success. Without fields, who missed 4.5 games, the bears were 21st in rushing. Thats not good, especially considering how much we ran. The offensive line pass blocking efficiency and pressure rate in less than 2.5 seconds was the 2nd worst in the NFL. Just like Jalen Johnson said in his recent interview, the trenches need work and it’s true. We are relying solely on developing players which I do believe in many of them but we need Davis to bounce back, our new center to play well, Braxton to have a better anchor, big Dex to be a pro bowler, another starting edge, another rotational DT, and some more depth
Thank you for such an enthusiastic take... I'll optimistically predict the Bears finishing with 9 or more wins based upon strength of schedule an talent... I'm excited to have a modern lineup...
Been a Bears fan since before McMahon was drafted. I've always been ok with the shitty offense because I was a defense first type. Doesn't mean I enjoyed losing but as long as it was like 12-10 score I was ok with it. The last decade was crazy frustrating as we gave up back to back 50+ games and were averaging over 30+ pts/game and our offense sucked to boot. I'm probably as optimistic as I've ever been going into a season. Our defense was really starting to gel last year and we look we might finally have a modern offense (for the first time since 1950s) to go with it. But I'd be ok if we're 6-11 next year as long as we're 6-0 vs the NFC North ....
Less talk and more action. Yes, it looks like they have built a great offense. How is the O-line? How is the O-coordinator? If those two suck, having all these receivers won't make them great. I hope they are, but as a life long Bears fan, from the 1970's, I know not to hype them up until about game 3. If they dominate the first three game, Then we can all get on the Bears train.
11-6. Don’t blow the leads in the fourth quarter in those three games last year. We should’ve been 10-7. And the last half of the season, the defense really got it together and almost got to an elite level for a few games. So a game improvement over that just because of the added talent but the lack of playing time together.
WOW! If Caleb plays like we expect, this offense is going to be "DANGEROUS " plus we have a top 5 defense from last year. 🤦🏾♂️ #beardown ; Record: 13 - 4
loved Justin Fields but he caused some of the problems for the offensive by not getting rid of the ball or throwing it away out of bounds- Caleb has a much quicker release and much better pocket presence. The line will improve
hey does anybody know what the music is for the first minute of the video?? I guess maybe it's AI-generated music or maybe it's something super popular that I've never heard and it's a dumb question, but whatever, I LIKE IT
On paper this is a playoff team similar to the Texans last year. But it’s the bears and they always find ways to let me down, so I’m thinking 9-10 wins max
The Bear is really have set themselves up this time. There's really no excuse, they might have to work on their defense a little bit, but they have the next couple of years to become contenders. The biggest thing that I see is, can their coaches do anything with it. We're about to find out.
I personally don't see the value of adding Odunze with DJ Moore and Keenan Allen there. There's a reason no team has had 3 WR1's on the same team. It just doesn't work. It's a team sport. People have roles to play. Someone will be upset. Not everyone will get the ball. WR was not a need. I see this as the GM is watching twitter GMs and just doing what he thought was the popular decision. I'm also not a GM but I'll come back here next year to see if the comment aged like wine or milk.
I partially agree, but Keenan will probably just be a 1 year player so adding what could be a long term WR1/2 without the pressure to immediately come in and perform could be good for development
Since becoming a Bears fan in the seventies I haven't seen personnel moves like this since before the 85 bears. It has always been starve the offence to feed the defense. The run the ball and play defense mentality. The NFL has moved on and finally the Bears get it.
Before the trades and draft, the media claimed Caleb alone would instantly make the Bears contenders. Now after the additions and draft and the media making their claim, I expect this team to make it to the conference championship at the least. Instant contenders is what they claimed. Let's see it. No excuses
The offensive line wasn’t that bad #4 in pass block win rate #2 in run block win rate and #4 in total block win rate they weren’t bad we just had the longest time until pass in the nfl. Advanced analytics say they were pretty good last year🤷♂️
Rome was the best wide eeciver in this class and it will show come the midway through the season. Marvin harrison jr is really good but imo ofunze is better
Yes yes it’s finally happening. When people said SC was this and that we are not good and they talked about the new coach all I said is I know a change will come and it will be a storm after that and look now I’m saying the same thing about the bears our time has come and I could not be happy

BEAR DOWN!
With the schedule and our lineup, are you kidding me. I don’t see why we can’t go minimum 10 wins.
Because the Bears have an average at best OL and a rookie QB.
I am a USC fan and look fwd to watching Caleb succeed. ✌❤
A traffic cone would be an upgrade at field awareness over JF1.
It’s pretty exciting to be excited about this Bears team, can’t wait for camp to open. #BearDown
Whole new offense with a rookie QB there's gonna be some growing pains but the future is bright in Chicago if their first two picks pan out.
Best receiver trio in the NFL! Best we ever had!
I’m so excited 🐻⬇️
This is how a GM is supposed to put a team together now Matt just needs to coach em up
It's fun to speculate, though you can never tell how college players will adjust to the NFL until September. Or even later, in some cases.
Thank you for such an enthusiastic take... I'll optimistically predict the Bears finishing with 9 or more wins based upon strength of schedule an talent... I'm excited to have a modern lineup...
Well some fans are placing bets we’re going undefeated so this should be interesting 😅
@@Thenny773 Hahahaha... People are excited! Hey, I'm just looking to spilt with the division's top teams and sweep some too..
@@busyrand Oh we own the North for sure I cant wait. There's so many stacked teams in the league but we had the best draft by far.
Hope this Williams dude can get the ball to these talented receivers.
excellent delivery of content - 🎉 I thoroughly enjoyed 💃
Even our Super Bowl team ('06) was woefully incomplete at times -- and no, I don't just mean at QB. This already looks way better.
Let's go... 🐻⬇️
If they start to win and Washington starts to lose bad don’t be surprised if Johnathan Allen is traded to us for a 2nd or 3rd
10-7’s a cautiously optimistic guess, stronger second half than first half. Ceiling’s notably higher tho
I’m just trynna make it there💯💯💯
Listen man….Chicago got some Dudes man. Sheeesh. Whoaaaa. Looks like a killer offense man.
Finally excited as a bears fan! Been very miserable as my 20 years as a fan lol
And the defense doesn't do well with hurry up offensive
Bears are on the Hunt baby!!
11-6. Don’t blow the leads in the fourth quarter in those three games last year. We should’ve been 10-7. And the last half of the season, the defense really got it together and almost got to an elite level for a few games. So a game improvement over that just because of the added talent but the lack of playing time together.
On paper this is the most talented bears offense ever. I’ll believe it when we sweep gb.
Hope you’re still alive when that happens 😂
But they still gave a Rookie QB and suspect OL.
Wow the Bears are going to be a big problem in the division!!!!!
Love it, but everything hinges on the oline and person, I'm not confident they're anything more than average.
hey does anybody know what the music is for the first minute of the video?? I guess maybe it's AI-generated music or maybe it's something super popular that I've never heard and it's a dumb question, but whatever, I LIKE IT
The draft is now over and my god... did Chicago finally learn how to draft?
Who is going to block?people must be blind
I need Well Off Media Bears edition
As a life long disappointed bears fan, I can confidently say I am excited to see what they do, but if they fail me then im done.
If the Bears are not 12-5 next year and don’t make it to the playoffs the Head Coach will be promoted to a spectator. This team is stacked!
On paper this is a playoff team similar to the Texans last year. But it’s the bears and they always find ways to let me down, so I’m thinking 9-10 wins max
Superdome. Second Lombardi … 40 years on.
Ryan poles for president 🇺🇸 Go Bears 🐻!!
The author is fraud.
7:10
They were a top rushing team ONLY because of the qb.
The Bear is really have set themselves up this time. There's really no excuse, they might have to work on their defense a little bit, but they have the next couple of years to become contenders. The biggest thing that I see is, can their coaches do anything with it. We're about to find out.
11-6 Bear down
This was the Bears best draft since 1983.
Bear the F*ck down!
12-5.. 4 wins come from our division... 3 losses come from growing pains...
I hope you are right, but let's be honest. The talent exists but...is the coaching team?
Since becoming a Bears fan in the seventies I haven't seen personnel moves like this since before the 85 bears. It has always been starve the offence to feed the defense. The run the ball and play defense mentality. The NFL has moved on and finally the Bears get it.
Before the trades and draft, the media claimed Caleb alone would instantly make the Bears contenders. Now after the additions and draft and the media making their claim, I expect this team to make it to the conference championship at the least. Instant contenders is what they claimed. Let's see it. No excuses
We're finally going to have a top offense
I was surprised they picked up Keenan Allen.....I see 9-8 / 10-7
The bears are gonna be good this year…this time we’ll be right
Im from missouri show me. Im really hurt how they did Fields but that business i guess
Exactly what happes when u dont have people like ryan pace running the show, and a all pro style gm leading the way....BEAR the fuC& down poles
The glass is half full!
Don't give me hope....
Yes yes it’s finally happening. When people said SC was this and that we are not good and they talked about the new coach all I said is I know a change will come and it will be a storm after that and look now I’m saying the same thing about the bears our time has come and I could not be happy
