エノキの葉についたアカボシゴマダラの幼虫 20240708

学名: Hestina assimilis
場所: 岐阜県多治見市
歩道脇のエノキの若木の葉に、ゴマダラチョウ（Hestina persimilis japonica）の幼虫に似た、角の生えたイモムシがくっついていました。
こんな交通量の多い場所の、1mもない木に付く図太さは、日本在来のゴマダラチョウにはないものだと思います。
On the leaf of a young hackberry tree by the sidewalk, there was a horned caterpillar that looked similar to the larva of Hestina persimilis japonica.
The boldness to attach to a tree less than a meter tall in such a high-traffic area is something I think our native Hestina persimilis japonica wouldn't normally do.
