We take reputation and dignity pretty seriously here from a very young age, so if they’re not as important to you, it’s understandable. They most certainly are important to a company like CDPR though, and any company out there. Better to take a loss by delaying the game even further than what’s going on right now.
Let's not forget that CDPR attempted to hide this from reviewers by not allowing them to see PS4/XB1 versions. And the media is also at fault for not telling them to kiss their collective ass if they were going to hide content. Also, if Sony and MS have been rubber-stamping the approval process, well that's shameful too. Also, some blame to go on players who continue to preorder games before they know if they're any good or not. There's a lot of blame to go around with this.
The "approval process" is just them testing to make sure the buttons work and little shit like that. It's not Sony's job to make sure there's no bugs because ALL game companies have bug testers for that. No CDPR probably gave Microsoft and Sony a downgraded version that ran better just for them to test their controls and whatnot just to be able to get the most sales. It all came down to being able to sell it on the ps4 since it has way more Consoles in homes so they knew they could make alot just off ps4 sales yet CDPR is in Microsofts hip pocket all the time and was reluctant to give the witcher 3 a patch for the ps4 pro after giving the Xbox one x a patch no problem. Microsoft gave them some money so that's why they're more on the side of Microsoft. I haven't liked CDPR since they always talk shit about Sony being anti consumer when it was Microsoft that helped bring microtransactions into games along with EA, at least Sony makes good games and actually keeps microtransactions out while also keeping bugs to an absolute minimum until they're completely squashed. I believe CDPR have been acting like they're pro consumer just for this game so they could maximize profits. But they probably thought people would forgive the bugs till they fixed them ha! Nope! We don't give passes to EA, Ubisoft, Activision or Bethesda so they won't get special treatment for a failed launch either.
Yeah but most of it goes to CDPR as they could’ve avoided all of this themselves because even without the bugs and issues on consoles, the game wasn’t just finished, even for PC.

If Sony is going to take down cdpr's game because it's a buggy mess, then they should continue that trend with every other game. Seems kind of double sided when Sony can do this to a smaller company, like cdpr, but won't do it with bigger companies like 🤔 hmmm I dunno, EA!?

There is NO WAY Cyberpunk passed Sony Cert. No way in the world. So that means Sony gave CDProjectRed a pass without seeing the game. So for ONE, Cyberpunk gained an unfair advantage over other apps trying to release on the store. ALSO, it means Sony and MS broke their contract with the players that buy their consoles: Literally, the REASON players buy consoles is for a guaranteed plug-and-play experience. If players were willing to accept variable quality of games on release, THEY WOULD BUY A PC. So Sony and MS should do MORE than just offer a refund. They broke their promise of quality to the player. The fact that Halo Infinite was delayed by a year shows how unfinished it could’ve been if it released. Thank god they delayed it. 343 has earned a lot of respect.
You need to understand that developers don't have control over game releases, the publishers like EA control that and they force developers to do as much as they can in as little time as possible.

Their reputation definitely took a hit, but it hasn't been destroyed at all. Witcher 3 also released in a very shitty state, the reason why cdpr has such a great reputation is because they always try to do right by consumers, not because all their games are perfect on release and right now, they're trying to do right by consumers, will that be enough? only time will tell.
7 years ago announced, 3 to 4 years of actual development, and the devs wanted more time but the board of directors wanted to get it out quick to make investors happy. Ah, old people making decisions in industries they don't understand, a classic.
@@masterluisYTV did they really fail though. The game works on PS5, XSX and PC. And on all of these the bugs are limited and the gameplay is praised. The problem is they should have just made it a next-gen game only. But I do understand that if they did that less people would get to play it. And as of right now no third-party developer has any incentive to just release a next-gen only game because of the shortage of consoles which means they would make less money for their products and in some cases the cost of creating it might not be able to be reimbursed. Because if you think about it the only real issue is coming from last-gen consoles.
And? EA is a shitshow of a company! CDPR might've messed up with Cyberpunk but they still care about consumers a whole lot more than EA! They probably don't need Cyberpunk to make money. Otherwise they would just not remove it from the store and refund people, whereas now they basicly say "come back when it's ready", or "maybe it will come back, at some point". That's not something any producer would do for a highly expected game, that probably made quite a lot of money already.
I don't trust Sony at all. Why did they even greenlight it to be released on their console without doing any tests? most people don't care about that anymore; look at steam, epic, etc. they are literally the biggest distributors of video games worldwide; no discs needed. The only people who are weary of something like that, are people who have ONLY ever used consoles. Nothing will stop the push to discless media. Sure not game of century and cant hold a candle to gta5 when comes to features but the story and environment is there at top. Some people are fanboys or haters. Im neither just based on my experience
It also has to do with consoles offering discless options - they now have to protect the digital library much more. Ps5 and series x players without a disc drive have only the digital library. This was done to reduce cost of entry and expand player base. They have to protect that new market share by cracking down on the content.
No clearly the console is fucked the PC version runs WAY the hell better then it does it run 100% smooth fuck no there is a plethora of issues with PC but I still stand by the fact that CDPR needs to just go back to making games for PC fuck the consoles it's not even their majority playerbase PC has and will always will be at 65% of their sales coming from PC so fuck the consoles they have had to downgrade graphics and cut down their story to cater to these console players no enough is enough fuck them and CDPR just stick to PC.

@@disabledcable685 who tf cares? The point was that CDPR did the impossible in the worst way.
Fuck reputation, EA and what not have fucked worse and still making billions, and still selling whatever shit they put out

If players were willing to accept variable quality of games on release, THEY WOULD BUY A PC. So Sony and MS should do MORE than just offer a refund. They broke their promise of quality to the player. You need to understand that developers don't have control over game releases, the publishers like EA control that and they force developers to do as much as they can in as little time as possible.
CDPR showed the best possible version of the game. 343 didn't, they showed whatever they had

Like it was the only video game company nowadays that you could trust and cares about the players.
Whatever, the PC version is still great so far
Their reputation definitely took a hit, but it hasn't been destroyed at all. Witcher 3 also released in a very shitty state, the reason why cdpr has such a great reputation is because they always try to do right by consumers, not because all their games are perfect on release and right now, they're trying to do right by consumers, will that be enough? only time will tell.

Didnt CDPR throw a jab at EA sometime recently? Ironic.
Oh yes they did!!
Now its worst than EA.
And? EA is a shitshow of a company! CDPR might've messed up with Cyberpunk but they still care about consumers a whole lot more than EA!
Doesn't FIFA release every year with bugs and years old glitches too? But they have the corporate hand of sony up their ass with Ultimate Team, so they don't get pulled!

Yea it’s not a fair way to deal with quality control, but Sony aren’t exactly known to be fair. I agree. I think Sony was already pissed for the reviewers not being allowed to try it out on their console, then probably got extra pissed after CD Projekt Red urged the unsatisfied players to ask for refunds from them. Good move to remove it from the store.
Serves Sony right. Next time do not release on a outdated crap console.
Not to mention Sony is at double fault for rushing them to release an unfinished game.
Even when you are your own publisher these stupid corporations rush you to release it for their stupid product.
@@ghostpinguin It's not Sony's fault if there's a PS4 version of the game (PS4 that can run other games with outstanding graphics and overall more polished quality and playability, open world or not). They could have gone with PS4 Pro only maybe.
Then I don't know were you got the info that Sony urged them. I mean they had TLOU2 this year (sold really well, regardless of the bashing the game had), Ghost of Tsushima, they have God of War next year, or just the release of PS5 and the huge amount of PS4 they sold. They probably don't need Cyberpunk to make money. Otherwise they would just not remove it from the store and refund people, whereas now they basicly say "come back when it's ready", or "maybe it will come back, at some point". That's not something any producer would do for a highly expected game, that probably made quite a lot of money already.
@@ghostpinguin where did you hear that sony rush them? This was CDPRS own execs jumping the gun
@Tayzor Azul Don’t spread misinformation!
I don't trust Sony at all. Why did they even greenlight it to be released on their console without doing any tests? Either Sony KNEW C2077 wasn't optimized for PS4 and they were in on the review embargo, OR, they didn't even bother testing it cuz they blindly took CDPR's word that the patch would fix everything.
So it is basically Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015 being pulled from Steam all over again:)
@WiiManElite Agreed but I would point out that glitches related to driving and being unable to complete quests (like in Batman) are also in Cyberpunk.
I don't know if you remember, Batman was pulled from Steam in late June 2015 and returned in late October.
The difference is that WB pulled Arkham Knight from Steam. Sony pulled CP2077 from the PSN store.
Difference is I can buy Batman on steam today.
Xrono666 ironically, both games have very similar stories, just replace joker with johnny silverhand
@@dflegend1172 you're the first person I've seen that's mentioned this, but you're completely right. CD Projekt Red completely ripped off Joker from Arkham Knight for Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077, and Arkham Knight did it better too.
Learn your lesson: DO NOT PRE-ORDER!
Playstation wanted to move forward with strictly disc-less systems. This issue has made people weary about digital purchases.
lol I play on pc I haven't had a physical copy of a game in like 8 years
@@drunkhusband6257 the problem is worse on consoles imo because Sony and Microsoft have monopolies on the digital storefronts on their respective systems. Competition between storefronts like epic, steam, uplay etc. is good for the consumer on pc and allowed because they don't manufactere the hardware, wheras a digital monopoly on consoles is something we should definitely be wary for in the future.
most people don't care about that anymore; look at steam, epic, etc. they are literally the biggest distributors of video games worldwide; no discs needed. The only people who are weary of something like that, are people who have ONLY ever used consoles.
Nothing will stop the push to discless media. Especially since this situation actually helps the argument that digital purchases are a good thing. Imagine trying to return a physical opened disc copy to a store claiming its unplayable; they'd tell you to go kick rocks. With digital media, you are far more likely to get a refund.
@Dave C. the only real reason people pre-order anything these days is for the bonus goodies. other than that, there literally is no benefit to doing so. I think only ver hyped games like this one, are subject to the preorder BS. A lot of folks think preordering makes them more entitled to a flawless game; it does not.

It also has to do with consoles offering discless options - they now have to protect the digital library much more. Ps5 and series x players without a disc drive have only the digital library. This was done to reduce cost of entry and expand player base. They have to protect that new market share by cracking down on the content.
