Ha ha. Spoilers B E L O W In the final, final scene of the end of season 3, episode 9...... Let's just say Elijah is probably going to turn into a Hulk.
@@TheMrPeteChannelTrust me, I get it. Elijah's.... passionate opinion about Viren is....a lot. However, I think she will see the nuance of the writing about him soon enough and in the next couple of seasons, she might see what we see. SPOILERS I think "We All Fall Down" might make a different reaction from her
I dunno… Kikimora is just… insufferable. Viren at least has reasons for doing what he does, believing he is helping. Kikimora knows she is evil.. and is evil just to be evil.
Katolis borders Zadia, so they are quite literally in the way. With no alliance, then the rest of the kingdoms have to invade Katolis to even get to Zadia, which is pretty much a declaration of war.
"but it almost feels like he genuinely thought his path was the righteous one..." That's the thing about "right/good" and "wrong/evil", it sometimes boils down to a point of view because morality is a tad more complicated than some people give it credit for. Not everything that's "good" is "obvious" to absolutely everyone because some people have been taught differently
For anyone who missed it, yes, Nyx does make an Oasis/Wonderwall joke And _yes_ - I had to pause the show when I heard that line because I was simultaneously furious and ecstatic that they set up and executed that joke so smoothly
The thing that gets me about this whole situation is that, from a strategic standpoint, Kasef would never be able to make good on his threat, so either he’s bluffing or he really doesn’t realize how bad of a decision this is. It would be neat if there was a scene in this episode where Opeli, Corvus or one of the other advisors told Ezran to call him on his bluff, but another one recommended against it since Kasef isn’t exactly rational and may very well decimate his own army out of spite. It would certainly make his decision make more sense.
I mean there’s nothing to indicate he was bluff. The false flag operation pretty much put massive support on Kasef’s call to arms. Furthermore there’s not much indication that any of the other human kingdoms has the knowledge or means to walk a army into xadia. They need Viren, so they need Katolas. And even if they didn’t the human kingdoms only have a tentative peace, and with so many leaders slaughtered the balance of power has been completely overturned. If half of pretty much humanities forces March to make a war with almost certainly high casualties what’s the stop the remaining kingdoms from taking advantage of the situation and grabbing for power. Or even if everything goes well and they take revenge and claim land, katolas would benefit despite doing nothing while the other kingdoms sacrificed, putting the fence sitters in the most advantageous position.
I can understand Callum not explaining himself properly after Rayla just made a death threat. A lot of emotions swirling around and he doesn't have time to think.
If your curious about Ezran's choice, he realised he wasn't willing to command men and women to war and so chose the option that would cause the least amount of bloodshed. He committed to his ideals and wouldn't allow himself be forced to make a terrible decsion that went agianst his beliefs even if it meant letting Viren go. As for his hapless brother... I believe Callum's own feelings for Rayla have been growing this whole season, but at this point he was still becoming consciences of them, and was caught off guard by her kiss, on top of being flustered over not wanting to take advantage of her vulnerable state. As you saw though he immediately realized he fumbled his response.
I really wish we had seen Ezran’s conversation with the advisor just so we could understand why he would possibly think that letting Viren take over would be the best solution.
I'm guessing...... Potential Spoilers Below That Ezran fought the most of the army didn't want to go to war & would lay down there arms when I think it was only about a dozen.
I’m headcannoning that the advisor told him that if he abdicated and stepped down that the council would simply choose a new King and didn’t bring up Viren. If he had I think Ez would have slammed on the brakes.
Ezran was metaphorically stuck between a rock and a hard place. If it were truly up to him, there wouldn't be any fighting at all. But it's not. Ezran wanted to choose the way where the least amount of people got hurt because they would be given the choice to quit the army,or at least, they're allowed to bow out on this fight Also, an argument could be made that Aaravos brought it up simply because Ezran's still a kid and kids shouldn't be in the middle of adult problems. Keyword: "could"
Katolis and Duran are the only human kingdoms that share a border with Xadia and the breach in Katolis was the only known way across the river of lava. They need to go through Katolis to get to Xadia
1:57 I JUST NEED TO SAY THATS ACTUALLY SO FUNNY CAUSE SHE S VOICED BY CATRA'S VOICE ACTRESS IN FRENCH ZEYFGZ when i heard her for the first time i lost my shit
The idea of going to war was absurd, but I figure the *threat* of war was all they needed; Viren knew that Ezran wouldn't be willing to chance it, thus the trap he laid with the prince. They never had any intention of attacking because they knew they didn't need to.
3:53 Katolis has access to the only entries on foot to Zadia. Amaya destroyed one a few episodes ago. Duran(Aanya's Kingdom) also sits at the Border of Zadia. So, Ezran who's only been king for a few days refusing to give them access to Zadia makes him an obstacle and an easy target. He's not doing this to Aanya because she's been Queen her whole life and won't put up with Kasef's crap.
Personally I find it funny that Elijah hates viren so much because, I knew he was going to be the bad guy from the moment I saw the first episode and honestly I didn’t really care for his character, simply due to the fact that it was clear that he just wanted power to fight xadia for its magical properties, at the same time a part of me thought that he was doing the wrong things for the “right” reasons. Because i don’t know why but it almost feels like he genuinely thought that his path was the righteous one , which I find really sad because if he’s trying to do the right thing he doesn’t know what that is other than solving it with magic and violence, then clearly he hasn’t been told well enough to align morality with his own ambition correctly then maybe if he’d been taught better , then maybe he’d become a much better person and advisor to the king. (Apologies if I ended up waffling) but I just find it funny how much Elijah hates him to the point where everytime he appears she’s like oh you again screw you
3:54 katolis, Ezran's kingdom, is between xadia and the other kingdoms, meaning they have to go through it to get there, which they can't do if Ezran is against the war. So, he's literally in their way.
No, I found that hilarious too! HAHAHA! The caterpillar is so freakin' adorable, with its little stubby arms just goin' 'whoop! Eyelid open sesame!' LMAO! [Mod] Hey everyone! Remember to keep the comments free of any spoilers of future episodes for Elijah. Have fun & be creative with fake spoilers! Also, make sure we’re keeping the comments cool & comfortable for everyone here. Enjoy the reaction y’all!!!
Years ago the creators already confirmed that King Harrow is dead and his soul was not put into the bird. In fact that bird hasn’t been seen since the end of Book 2.
Oh my poor boy Callum. He’s offering a helping hand to Rayla, but that Moon Shadow elf stoicism of not showing fear or vulnerability is rearing its ugly head. It’s obvious that getting ghosted hurt her deeply but she hides it until she finally cracks. Then when she surprises him with a kiss he blue screens. I think he still didn’t believe there was any way this beautiful elf girl would ever want to kiss a regular human like him and when she did he was dumbstruck.
17:19 You're literally the first reactor I've seen understand Callum's point and feelings in that scene. I mean when I first watched it, I was also annoyed he didn’t kiss her back, but thinking it over, I think they made the right choice doing it this way.
I've always operated under the assumption that Prince Kasef was bluffing about attacking Katolis if they didn't join the war effort. It was a last ditch effort by him, Vyran, and that councilor to manipulate Ezran into abdicating the throne. I don't think he would have wasted the resources, even if he managed to convince the other nations to join him, had Ezran called his bluff.
the thing is katolis does in fact stand in their way. Katolis is the border kingdom of xadia and the human realms. They guard the border, so when Katolis says no to the war that means the other kingdoms cannot travel through katolis to go wage war Edit: also no one knows Viren sent the shadow assassins for the other kingdoms, they went to arrest him for everything he did before that with calling the summit meeting of the other kingdoms. As far as it goes with the assassins everyone thinks they were from Xadia.
I feel like Ezran and Kasef are really solid foils for each other in this season. At first glance, Kasef is what you would 'expect' a future king to look like: strong, diplomatic, and grounded. But then you get to know him and he's actually a terrible ruler. Kasef being so easily swayed by a man in chains because he shares his views of Xadia proves he's weak. The fact that he loses his decorum the minute Ezran doesn't side with him proves he's not as diplomatic as he would think. And while he is sure of his convictions, Kasef's actions throughout S3 are not grounded in reality because he disregards truth and fact in favour of whatever supports his beliefs Ezran on the other hand, doesn't look like a typical king (duh, he's a little kid), but he is far stronger, more diplomatic, and grounded in reality than Kasef is. He refused to back down from Kasef's threats, attempted to reach an agreement peacefully until the only option that would save the most lives was abdicating the throne, and was wise enough to see how the world truly is (and could be) despite his privileged upbringing
I reckon Kasef only just learned what Ultimatum means so he assumes other people don’t know. His dad said last season that his son didn’t know half the words Aanya was saying
So the thing abt that prince's threat is exactly that it makes no strategic sense. It is meant to push on Ezran and Katolis. Ezran didn't want to go to war with elves because he didn't want people to die for nothing. From the position of the advisor b*tch at least. So the "solution" is to create a situation where people will die either way. I have no doubts Viren came up with this plan, perhaps with Aaravos whispering in his ear. Them being the manipulators they r. As for the talk the advisor b*tch had with Ezran, I like that it's left ambiguos. My personal theory is that he simply revealed the conspiracy to Ezran, but spun it in a "I wanna help, if u and Viren switch places then those who don't want to go to war won't suffer". It was a lose-lose situation, and unfortunately not much was depending on Ezran at all.
I'm not sure you entirely understand the map of this world. Katolis stands between Xadia and all the other human kingdoms. In order to go to war with Xadia, they need permission to pass through Katolis, so as long as Ezran keeps telling them no, the only thing they can do, is go to war with Katolis.
As much as I love Ezran I just can’t support his decision here. He wanted to avoid one war so he handed his crown and kingdom over to the one guy who was actively trying to start a bigger war. Battling another human kingdom to stop them from invading Xadia would have been a hard choice, but handing Viren his kingdom and letting him invade Xadia and hoping that it all works out was just a poor choice.
Ezran is a good and kind young kid, but he’s naive to political machinations. As he gets older and looks back on this he might consider that the best course of action to Kasef’s threat would have been to tell him to bring it. Katolis has the largest and best trained army in the human kingdoms. They could handle those 3 kingdoms. If he had stood up it might have shown that Kasef was bluffing.
Rayla, you can’t surprise teenage boys like that, their brains stop working.
And Go Downstairs.
Ezran's decision to sacrifice his crown in return for the safety of his people was inspired by Aslan's sacrifice in the "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe".
No way
No way really!?
