That olds was NOT EFI, that was an electronically controlled qjet- the computer controlled a few of the settings, but it was absolutely carbureted. Those came out in 80 or 81...

Huh... I never knew that existed. Very interesting

@@DEInTheGarage yes sir ! Apparently the way to make a qjet “better” is add on electrics powered by primitive computers..... you can’t make these things up. My 81 Camaro had one back in the day but I ripped it off and because it was a stick shift the car could care less. However everything at that time from GM had them including the Montie SS. TBI/TPI eventually replaced all of it.

I remember when we had 6 junkyards in a 5-mile radius here in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago. You could find anything and everything you ever needed. Now there is only one "Nationally known" yard and when any type of vehicle goes into the yard, within two days it gets so "Picked-n-Pulled" that it becomes a waste of time even going there. I miss going to those old yards of yesteryear.

Early GM EFI aka throttle body injection, had two injectors right over the throttle blades. That was most definitely a carb. GM started using EFI around 1987 or 88.

Got 14 sets WJ just getting wrecked up in the mountains I saw a very large chunk of a tree broken through the side of a transmission roof caved in completely filled with empty beer cans and what looks like a very large Boulder and went through the front denting in the radiator so hard that it took chunks out of the front block of the engine and a large variety close to a thousand rounds of empty brass good old boys had a fun night

I found a ZJ last weekend with factory tow hooks, no way in the world I'm trying to remove those things LOL. What a PITA those things are to remove compared to the WJ tow hooks.
I did pickup a set of aluminum alloy Ford factory American Racing style 15" wheels and center caps for $170 to put on my Bronco 2 this afternoon, got off work a bit early and hit the yard again. I was going to go over yesterday but a bit of a bank SNAFU I wasn't able to transfer money from my savings so I had to put it off and just hope the wheels were still there. Luckily they were still sitting in the back seat of a 91 Explorer....I saw as I was walking up that the rear hatch was open, I thought oh man someone beat me to them, nope they were still there woohoo. Now to get my tires swapped out onto these wheels. Current wheels on the Bronco 2 are all bent, apparently the previous owner did a bit of heavy offroading and bent the wheels, which now explains other issues with the vehicle...hmm engine issues, transmission failure LOL.

NOPE.. all missing of course! LOL I did however find a set of WJ tow hooks, but left them as I was just looking and no tools. Two of the white gage clusters also. WJ heaven for sure in there, 99 thru 04 about 15 of them. I might have to get on now. Might head back for those tow hooks for a wheel and deal trade ;) Had to add in, the WJ Limited with the tow hooks also has the factory amp and 5 disk CD changer still there for the moment. I carry a regular Dewalt 20V 1/4" and a 20V 3/8" impact they are lifesavers in the yard....If I know I'm going to be pulling a trailer hitch receiver or something else with larger nuts/bolts I throw in my 20V 1/2" impact, usually the 3/8" impact will break stuff loose that I am usually after and that 1/2" impact is pretty heavy to pack around.
I also don't pack tools around the yard with me. I go out and walk the yard to see if they have anything I need before I go packing tools all over the place. I can walk the yard and check vehicles a heck of a lot quicker without packing tools around. If I find what I need then I go back to the truck and get my tool bag. Its just faster to run out real fast and see if they have what I need first....that and it limits the number of people that think they need to borrow your tools...I've only done that once and I stood right there till the guy was done using the wrenches to be sure I got them back. Just about all you hear out at the pick a part yards now is hammering of impact guns LOL.
Heck in a pinch the Hercules or Bauer impacts from Harbor Freight would work just fine, but honestly for the little price difference I'd buy Dewalt, Milwaukee, etc. I had thought about one time buying a Bauer set just for pick a part yard use but not really worth the extra expense when I've already got a lot of the Dewalt stuff.
