Toolbox Widgets - Crazy Expensive - NOTHING Competes!

  • After a month of using Toolbox Widgets, I now have a more refined view of their utility! they are extremely expensive for what they do. Toolbox Widget absolutely missed the mark in pricing these organizers. they should be nearly half the cost. At a lower price point…they would dominate the market and their profit would be far greater than the small volume they deal with today. At this price point…they're just another reason for you to go ahead and buy that 3D printer you've been thinking about for a decade! That said, there is simply nothing on the market that is this modular. nothing thats this customizable for so many different types of tools. Not even ToolGrid can touch this value. ToolGrid is much more expensive and takes longer to setup. it requires more space than Toolbox Widgets. Developing my option of these further.

    My son and I make them with magnets and ends. They are modular, just like tool widgets with magnets, and don't fall apart. We charge .75 with magnets and .50 without per piece. They work for screw drivers, extensions and much more.

      I try! I just use an Amazon micro fiber towel and wipe everything down when I’m done a project. I am a little worried about rust though. Sometimes I go a couple weeks without using my tools.

      It’s not that many. It’s simply a set of 1/2 3/8 and 1/4 in chrome and impact. Couple older sets of Craftsman mixed in there.

    For wide handles that you can’t stand vertical I use one wrap velcro around the handle to hold them closed.

    Man they are just too overpriced right now , would love to do that . Probably cost you 400 in widgets lol. Love the toolbox btw . Just ordered the same in white 🤘🏻

      The widgets were way more than $400 lol. I wish that’s all I’d spent on them. I think I’ve got closer to $1200 in widgets. And that’s buying them on sale over the last year.

    Which ones are you using for the Ratchet Wrenchs?

    • @DemoDad101

      I primarily use Icon and Milwaukee ratcheting wrenches. Those are all stored with toolbox wrench organizer widgets. I hope that answers your question.

    the ones that look like they "cut the teeth" are for the labels add-on you can get for the wrenches

    • @DemoDad101
      @DemoDad101  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not sure what you mean. “Cut their teeth” is a common expression meaning “started with” I know you can add labels but I don’t see the point personally.

    I been a automotive technician for years I like the concept but you really don’t save any room and don’t see the size of the socket like you would on a traditional socket tray there cool but I’ll never buy any in my opinion there trying to solve a problem when there isn’t one I get where there for some people but they ain’t for me you got parking lot job or something where need more than one socket you just grab the whole set like you can with a socket tray but idk I’m old school

    • @DemoDad101
      @DemoDad101  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That socket drawer had half those sockets in OEM packaging and it took up that entire drawer. Plus, I couldn’t arrange them the way I wanted. The Toolbox Widgets did their job. I have a small portable set that I rarely use. Most of the time…I move whatever I need to work on…into my shop. It’s just easier.

      I have had a very different experience. I’ve tried 3D printed ones. These are not 3D printed. I found the quality to be excellent. I just think they’re a touch on the expensive side.
