Looks like your throttle body was very clean. Your engine blow by doesn't empty into your TB but your air cleaner. With my 2023 they must have changed the design by directing the oily mist directly into TB. I've got to take a look.
Yes guys, I want to keep my 107-stock cover, so I'll definitely be purchasing the 606 once you start selling the new backplate with the channels you just announced!!
The only thing about the zip ties is the heat from the motor may make them brittle over time and break. I know my Harley produced a lot of heat. So much so, that I put the heat shields on to deflect the heat from coming up in my face when setting still. Sometimes I wished I had my ride back but I just got too old and soft. Keep the videos coming. At least I can enjoy your rides. You do live in the best riding country anywhere in my opinion.
Great instructional video, DK should post this one as an instructional video on their website! Only one suggestion from my youth as an electrician - for hoses and conduit that can or will be seen, take a second and turn the manufacturer's printing on the hose or conduit to the back for better aesthetics. In this case, I don't think it mattered, though.
Just found your channel and subscribed. Great instructional video btw. Your Road King is gorgeous brother. I miss mine every day. Gotta get my wife a new Bronco before I can get another one. Once that’s taken care of I’ll be looking for a RK Classic to add to my other Harleys. Seeing your bike makes me want to speed up the process though 😊
Great video! Thank you! I just bought a 2007 Road King Classic where they put this kit on, but instead of running the tubes into a breather filter…instead they clamped both tubes together and have them coming out of the bottom of the bike 😳😒 So I’m leaving a trail of oil everywhere I go. How often does the breather filter need to be changed?
Thanks for responding. I put the bike in the shop and discovered that some seals needed replacing. I thought maybe it was coming from the kit/tubes since the tubes went down from the kit to under the bike, but it appears the oil was coming from somewhere else. I just bought the bike last week and hadn’t seen this before. Thanks again for replying 🤩💯
Great instructional video, but I've used a similar oil breather system and the oil buildup in the filter leaked on to my engine. I know it's been a year since you've done the install, and you may or may not have had oil drip issues on your engine. I went to a cup style oil breather by-pass and oil drip issue was solved. I'm curious though, did you have an oil drip problem from the filter? Thanks.
Good job brother. I'm thinking of adding an external breather to my twin cam...leaning towards the catch can though. You didn't mention it, but going to a unrestricted/stage 1 intake like you did here usually requires a tune. Did you have to get a tuner or was the bike still running fine on the stock tune?
I did not tune it. I used a O2 sensor enrichment device, basically a resistor on each sensor that made my fuel air mixture 14/2 I believe. It worked great actually
Do you happen to have the part number you ordered from DK Customs? I need the exact same kit from the banjo bolts to the brackets and air filter back plate. I have a new air filter and really don't need another filter. Thanks for your time!
fyi that little filter will become a eye sore , its better to use a tee and along run of hose down and connect the little filter under the bike and wash it at oil changes .
Might have helped just a skosh for viewers if you'd done a quick practice session prior to the video, but I guess this is what most of us would do putting the kit together and on. So, otherwise, a good demo.
It's nice to watch a video that you can actually hear what's going on because there's no background music blasting
Excellent video. Thanks for taking the time to make it and share it with us. 🍻

Great video...shared this on our youtube channel. Thanks for taking the time!

Thanks! Great product and glad to do it.
@@westernwinds2492 Cool, thank you!

Nice job on the video. You made the install look easy. Thanks!
Nice how to video, did it solve the problem. I see you posted video 2 years ago. Im looking to do this on my 04 dyna
Great video left nothing to the imagination thanks

It really doesn’t. I never really had to mess with it. If you’re bike really pushes a lot of oil out then you will have to clean it once in a while.

Does this really need to be done?
Harbor Frt "inch lbs" wrench. Good Job
Video is well done, thanks. Does the catch can ever hit the cover or push rod tubes?

Not a drip. Looks just the same as the day I installed it. Probably bike dependent
Excellent. Love to hear some Zippy stories!
How often do you have to clean the external breather filter.? Do you just wash it out now and again?
Yes

Trying to find a breather kit that works with 2005 twin cam Softail I have the screaming eagle indented back plate
I need that back plate. What model did you tell dk ??;
Why not use the stock plastic housing and drill a hole in it and run it under the air filter housing

I don’t but it was the 606 series kit. It was the naked kit with no cover. I also ordered my own air filter.

This is how Road king guys do videos, a Dyna guy would have the video done in 5 minutes with the same info 🙂
Good job my man!!
Which DK Custom air cleaner was that? I have an ‘09 Road King Classic (96ci) and want to use the stock cover with a new cleaner.
The 606 series
@@GreatPlainsCraftsman Thanks! That might be a fall project.
How far did the air cleaner cover extend out from where it was originally
Not much at all really. Hardly noticeable
