This video was excellent. I was tentative at purchasing this based on the price, but after this video I feel like it does exactly what you expect it to. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
I just recently purchased this microphone, so I haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but your test of it was excellent. We appreciate your efforts in demonstrating the differences between using a mobile device with and without a microphone.
You really lay it out all so clear, down to the level of a tech-deficient guy like me. You're sort of just discovering it all as you talk about it makes it more captivating and easy to follow.
The excitement on his face he showed when he heard how good it was the first time, lol. I was sceptical about buying one but now im going too after this review.
First time seeing your vid. It popped up while I was looking for mics to start my vlog channel using my android. You are such a joy to listen to. Based on your fun personality alone I subscribed😊. And you helped me choose the mic to start my vlog.
This was the most helpful review on this product. You had the same reaction that my son and I had before we realized that you have to record from your camera in order to hear that it works. I was thinking I should have been able to hear myself through the mic without having to do all of that. No other reviewer explained that part and we started to get frustrated until we came across your video. Thank you soooooooo much!! We appreciate you.
I just bought this mic set from amazon yesterday. Watching your vid to see about the hookup. Looks very easy. I bought it to do my own TH-cam videos. Cant wait to try it out this weekend. Thanks for the review.
Ive just purchased a set of 2 for only £8 yesterday (22/6/24) and came across your video when looking for a how to use. Thanks, it was very informative and I can set it up so easy.

omg , they way you experimented the mic for a nerd like me , looking for an android phone, hats off for you sir. thankyou. the best part of your video is out side with mic and without mic.
I had these mic's for a few days and couldn't use alh of the footage, as the mic's are clipping quite easily. Just the engine of my car was enough. The connection between the mic and the reciever is very stabil, and the soundquality is fair. I ended up sending the mic's back.

Wow. This is impressive. I'm going to order one right now. I kept thinking I'm gonna need those DJI setups for my travel vlogs. I record on my phone anyway and this wireless mic is insanely good for what I need it for. And actually I disagree that the camera has a better sound it actually sound tinny and flat. The mic actually gives a fuller sound with more bass to the voice which I really didn't expect. Thnx for this perfect test!!
A couple things. I picked up the mic a few weeks ago on Amazon, and there are ways around that sound that you don’t like. One, you can put it into your shirt and it will record essentially your voice coming out of your chest. Which gives it a deeper more fuller sound. Also, that narrow sound you talk about is actually good for voice. Because essentially it’s recording mono in the center. So if you have any stereo music, it’s going to completely avoid interfering sonically with it. What I did find with it, that I didn’t like… Is that if there are other people in the room or a TV is on for whatever reason… It will pick up every voice in the vocal spectrum. Obviously, the further away it is the less loud it is going to be… but it still picks them up. I’ve been experimenting with different volume levels for the microphone. The problem with that is, you have to make sure that it doesn’t spike the volume. Which, when you have it on Auto, it automatically picks the perfect volume. But, you run into the issue with picking up background vocals that you may or may not want to hear. Again, that can somewhat be eliminated if you have the microphone inside your shirt. But, it’s not gonna be completely eliminated. I’m going to try some more experiments with it. Get some better software to record audio with. The one that I got, came with , the same connector you have, but it also has a lightning connector on one end and an audio connector on the other. So you can hook it directly to a camera that has an audio connector and record straight to video. Which I have not tried yet. I may try it today, just to see if the cam is any better managing the audio and also cutting out the background vocals. Another thing that I also noticed, at least with my phone… Is that with the receiver connected to my phone… At least with the audio connector, you had to take it off the phone in order to listen to what you recorded. I don’t know if that’s going to be the same with the USB-C connector or not. But I did notice that it has a headphone jack out also on the receiver. so that may be why. Other than that, for $20… It’s not bad. Mine came with two microphones and that connector and some extra fuzzies for the end. I just decided to buy and try it to see how good it did for the price. It’s OK, you know it’s not the best but you’re getting something that at least helpful for low price for entry level videographers. It’s amazing to me how many of these things are on the market now. It makes it really tough to choose a decent one, but because of like yours and others… You can definitely find a decent microphone for a decent price. I know I saw one video that reviewed not only the DJI, but a few other high ends and one mid range and they liked the mid range the best. Which I think was just $120. So it’s better than $300 or more. we will see. I am just getting into this myself. I’ve had a channel forever, I just haven’t used it. Quite frankly, because I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with the channel. Because there’s so many people doing the same thing, I was looking for something different… Which I may have. We will see. In any case, keep doing what you do and enjoy!

Great video. You answered most of the questions I had about this inexpensive lav mic. The outdoor test was especially meaningful to me. It sounds like you went into a studio and did a voice-over for your video. The big question here is, it's been a year since you published this video, are you still satisfied with the mic and do you still use it?
@TimHief it still works, and it gets the job done, but even when I got this I wanted a more expensive one with mote features, and that hasn't changed, however I haven't replaced it yet, because it still does well enough
A very good video and demonstration. When doing an interview, can the receiver (attached to the phone) pick up voices from two wireless MAYBESTA mics at the same time? Thanks

can you record video and audio at the same time from a single device using it? The idea would be to use it for my phone for recording videos with better quality audio
How do you charger the microphone becuse when i get it i can use it but now its just light up red light and i have try everything and nothing helping pls respond to this comment
My microphone just keeps blinking red and green red and green. It never connects. Do you have a way to reset either one of them or is there another method I can use?
Unfortunately mine doesn't work. The green light appears indicating its paired but it's still capturing sound from the phone. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you
Hi. I have this or something very similar. I'm wondering what the booklet means by "3 button reverb". It's not clear what it is or how to enable it. I thought you might be able to help 👍
This was a great review. I enjoyed it. I love the art of recording and mixing audio. You gave me the sound test I needed. I also want the trendy rode wireless that everyone is getting, but I'm not being cheap; I love going against the grain. This mic does the job for what I need it for. I need a narrow mono sound when I'm recording my monologue for my TH-cam shorts. Someone told me they couldn't hear me in my videos (Most people can), so that was my signal to upgrade. I don't need the ambient wind, cars, and dogs barking. I'm using your link to make a purchase, and I've subscribed to your channel. Thank you. P.o.p.
My wife just bought me a version of these. Have you managed to figure out how you can adjust the gain? Mine seems to pick up a bit more background noise than what yours did in this video.
Try giving the MOVO a try. I have the XTUGA which isn't bad. If you don't want to use your phone you could try a TRS style plugged directly into your DSLR or you could try a true digital recorder with the mic and just sync it up in post processing. I've used all methods mentioned here, and found the DSLR hooked to a BT mic worked best. You'll need a mic that has the BT to TRS adpater or cable. Have fun on your journey.
Great video. As an acoustic guitar player and a singer I would've loved to see a video of this mic's performance for the singer's voice and how well it picks up the sound of the guitar when mic is placed pretty much where you have it in this video. So, my question to you is: do you know anyone who sings and plays an acoustic guitar? If so, a video test/demonstration will greatly be appreciated. 👍
ok so this is a weird question. When you were recording on the Samsung voice recorder app how do you get your voice in sync with your mouth movements in the video. If you don't know what I mean reply to my comment, and I'll try to explain further
Thank you for this! Can you explain if the lavalier mic can capture the sound if you're recording a video on your phone camera/vid? Or is it only if you're using a voice recording app on your phone?
@tasnimpatel7940 on my phone, it works with all my apps automatically. But, some phones I've heard that you have to find the setting in your phone to change the audio input source.
I have this device but it's not picking up the sound. When I record videos, it's using my phone's microphone. I use Google Pixel. How do I solve this problem?
Great video. I do have one question though do you think I would be able to use this on a TH-cam live stream efficiently and without feedback to the other people?
How did your outdoor recording go? We have these and they do work well but we find that if you are active, the mics pic up noise from touching the mic or rubbing on your clothes/ jacket.
@steelparkeroutdoors this is true, and will be the case for most mics. The only thing you can do is try using a "dead-cat" rather than a foam pop-filter like this one, the dead cat can help block wind noise and reduce noise from things like clothing.
Can you use this mic simultaneously with music running on your mobile? Specifically , playing music and talking into it , and then send it via bluetooth to soundsystem.
Anybody know if you are able to use this mic with Bluetooth ear buds? I was doing a live broadcast via streamyard and couldn't figure it out. I needed audio to be played to the ear buds while still being able to use the microphone to interview people
I followed all the steps you did and all the indicator lights are working, it even says my phone is connected , my android is compatible even, and it won’t work :-/ What a bummer. I don’t get why it’s working for literally everyone else.
Grant I have this Microphone and a Samsung Galaxy S22 Phone and it is not working yet. I have added the Open Camera and set it up and I still can't get it to work. Perhaps my settings are not right on my phone. Any recommendations?
I got these a few weeks ago and just noticed this morning the USB-C in the dock. "WTH is that for??" Lol, it is indeed for charging the phone while while the dock is in place. Thanks for helping me solve that mystery and thanks for the great video!
I bought mine at Tiktok Shop for like 13.29usd (shipping included). This mic is really good! Only downside I would say is you cant hear anhthing if you want to clip it hidden at your pocket or the microphone is like less 2ish feet away from your voice.

@minachristopher81 make sure the base is plugged into your phone and close enough to connect to the mic
Unfortunately mine doesn't work. The green light appears indicating its paired but it's still capturing sound from the phone. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you
@@WhenPushComesToShove it might be a setting on your phone. You may have to select the audio input source
I'm convinced. My only question is what's the battery life like on the mic?
@@Piemasteratron I've not let it run out yet, but I'm told it's about 1.5hr
I read 7 hours online.. so, who knows.
Hi. I have this or something very similar. I'm wondering what the booklet means by "3 button reverb". It's not clear what it is or how to enable it. I thought you might be able to help 👍
@@Uniq_Jer31vs33 does it have extra buttons?
I figured out that if you double-click the button on the mic it turns on the Reverb function 😁 You double-click it again to switch off.
In other words, the instructions aren't correct 😐 but the reverb function works.
Thank you.

My wife just bought me a version of these. Have you managed to figure out how you can adjust the gain? Mine seems to pick up a bit more background noise than what yours did in this video.
No, it comes down to your phone's built-in software.
Such an amazing video you’re so underrated
wow, thank you!
@exoticimagesbyalexa my next upgrade is probably going to be a proper lavaler mic from one of the popular brands. That are a stand alone kit.
@@JeffBassir-lo6zj I'm sorry, I do not

@@salmonbass15 awesome! Thanks for telling me!
Can one set be paired with another set in case one mic transmitter or receiver fails? Are they interchangeable which would required re-pairing?
@@Vendetta725 that's an interesting question. I don't know that that is a possibility with this mic. It might be with other ones similar to it
So there is no pairing process? Just plug into phone turn mic on and good?
ok so this is a weird question. When you were recording on the Samsung voice recorder app how do you get your voice in sync with your mouth movements in the video. If you don't know what I mean reply to my comment, and I'll try to explain further
I use adobe's synchronize tool.

I bought a decent mini mic years ago for pc. U can plug into phone but it sits in a stand. USB plug with wire. Works with webcam.

You have my like and my sub. But question !!! Is it possible to use several (three or four) mic with the same receiver ?
@raymondkilonda4693 yes, however, you'd have to get one that comes with 3-4 mics.

How do I turn on noise cancelation '? I pressed the button like the instructions said and got normal mode and an echo effect.

Great video. I do have one question though do you think I would be able to use this on a TH-cam live stream efficiently and without feedback to the other people?
Yes, but only if you're streaming from your phone.
@@GrantButler Okay great, Thank you very much for the response.
I know this is extremely late but, do you know if you can clip it on vertically? As in the top of the collar of a shirt
@@teacookie-wynn you should be able to
How did your outdoor recording go? We have these and they do work well but we find that if you are active, the mics pic up noise from touching the mic or rubbing on your clothes/ jacket.
@steelparkeroutdoors this is true, and will be the case for most mics. The only thing you can do is try using a "dead-cat" rather than a foam pop-filter like this one, the dead cat can help block wind noise and reduce noise from things like clothing.
My guy, thank you a hundred times . Great video. Was really wondering about this ..🔥🔥🔥
Can you use this mic simultaneously with music running on your mobile? Specifically , playing music and talking into it , and then send it via bluetooth to soundsystem.
are you wanting to use it as a mic to the speaker?
Best explanation and convincing video, I was researching if its suitable for my outdoors recording but am contented.
Thanks a lot brother❤🙏
It'll be great outdoors, just not perfect in loud placed out doors. It'll cut out if it gets too loud some times.
Anybody know if you are able to use this mic with Bluetooth ear buds? I was doing a live broadcast via streamyard and couldn't figure it out. I needed audio to be played to the ear buds while still being able to use the microphone to interview people
