For those who have never seen a speedrun of this game before, here are answers to some commonly asked questions:
Q: What are the requirements for 100% in this game?
A: To obtain 100%, I must collect all 96 gems and defeat the final boss. Crystals do not contribute to the % counter, so it is not necessary to collect all of them.
Q: What version of the game are you playing on? Is this emulator?
A: I am playing the PAL PS2 version on a PAL SCPH-90004 PS2 Slim.
Q: Why are you playing on PAL instead of NTSC? Why PS2 instead of Xbox?
A: PAL is preferred for this game due to a bug that occurs when the game runs at 60 FPS (NTSC). At this framerate, Crash can slide in the wrong direction if you move the analog stick at all during a slidejump, which is very annoying to deal with. I am using the PS2 version simply because it is the one I own. Xbox does have faster loading times, but it would be quite expensive for me to import a PAL Xbox from overseas, so I stick with PS2.
Q: Why are you pausing the game every so often?
A: Pausing causes the game to load stuff more quickly. This is used more extensively on the PS2 version than the Xbox version due to loading time discrepancies.
Q: How are you going through nitros and not dying?
A: Throwing Cortex into the Papu Papu cutscene at the end of the 1st section of Totem Hokum triggers what we call zombie mode. In this state, the game already thinks Crash is dead, so objects that would normally kill him do not. This is both good and bad - since pits no longer kill Crash in this state, falling into one softlocks the game and forces a reset. This same state is used in Boiler Room Doom in order to collect all 6 gems and escape the level without having to fight Dingodile.
Q: Is it possible to die while in zombie mode? What can kill you?
A: The only enemies that can kill Crash while in zombie mode are the villagers with binoculars in Totem Hokum. This is why I wait for the last villager to raise his binoculars before proceeding. Funnily enough, those enemies can only see Crash for 1 single frame (the frame they raise their binoculars). Any time before or after this, it is safe to proceed. Zombie Crash can also die from falling too far, which is used at the end of Boiler Room Doom.
Q: How did you skip fighting Mechabandicoot?
A: The hoverboard that Cortex flies into Crash at the end of the fight is stored out of bounds and is invisible. Fortunately, it is also fully controllable, so I land on it and fly into Cavern Catastrophe underneath the boss arena. This skip is quite difficult, and any slight error results in a softlock and forces a reset.
Q: How are you able to jump over so many large gaps?
A: When Crash does a slidejump, the game stores the speed of the slide. If the next jump Crash does is off the edge of a platform, he will jump with the speed of the slide, allowing him to clear tons of gaps that he isn't supposed to. This is called a longjump and is used extensively in this run to skip puzzles, cutscenes, platforming, etc.

Crash Twinsanity: A Flawless Game with absolutely no glitches or exploits whatsoever
100% runs of Twinsanity are so much better than the Any%
Any% is always impressive but the game is so good, it kinda hurts to see so much of it be skipped

even 100% runs skip a lot of stuff like bosses and some parts of levels. if people were doing the whole game with just movement tech and very little glitches runs would probably be 2+ hours. it gets very boring for runners and watchers when runs are that long.

I loved this game as a kid and watching you get through N Sanity Island in LESS THAN 15 MINUTES TAKES SKILL! Happy to see it!
I'll just add, when i was doing my 100% playthrough back in the day, the rockslide rumble gems where some of the hardest gems to get
That, and the fear of hitting a checkpoint of no return during both slides with cortex. Those days really were painful when you ran it blind and not know where to go in the game lol. Still one of my best childhood moments playing this game.

1:00:22... well... that clears up the nearly 2-decade-long mystery of where that purple gem is. I... have literally never been able to find it. Ever. I eventually figured the devs just forgot to put one in and there wasn't one in the stage at all. ALL this time, it was just behind a fucking ROCK!?! God DAMN. I feel like the world's biggest dunce.

I watched my mom and my brother playing this game and struggling in walrus chase when I was really young. I loved every second of that. I saw them play this whole game and this was the only game my mom really loved.
Years later My little brother who was like 7 years old at the time wanted a try at the walrus chase when me and my older brother were doing a playthrough once again. He got it in a few tries and we were baffled. When i tried it while being 7 i died all the time and so did my approx 30yo mom too!!
This game was so impactful on my childhood and i have memories with twinsanity i will always cherish.
I have never been good at micro in any game so i never excelled in this game, but I still love it and I am so glad to see someone doing something this beautiful with one of my favourite games of all time. 🔥❤️❤️

Crash is so OP on this game in comparison to the normal game mechanics... This combined with the glitchy open world give the player the ability to defy everything inside this gameworld

Great to see a game I used to grow up playing on the PS2 go fast. Congrats. Out of curiosity, would you play or attempt to speedrun any other Crash games, or is it mostly Twins?
Hey! Glad you enjoyed both runs! I have looked into a couple other Crash games in the past but have yet to dive into one. I might run another one someday, but for now it's just Twins :)

For the zombie crash glitch to work, do I need to have the PS2 Max or does the normal PS2 work too?
You can do it on every version of the game except the NTSC 1.0 PS2 release - trying it on that version will just softlock the game instead of allowing you to move around

Hey bro, I can't do zombie mode. I throw Cortex towards the tree and play with Crash in the cutscene where Cortex hits Papu Papu, but Crash is not immune to Nitro. What happened?
I'm guessing you are grabbing the Aku Aku mask in the tunnel right after that cutscene - grabbing a mask will eliminate zombie so you have to avoid them

How many times did you complete the game, since you able to play so fantastic? You know all the glitches.
I've probably completed 30 full runs or so, as well as a lot of practice offline
Skipped the best cutscene in the game where cortex offers a rocket penguin fish. Sad day.

It may have a ton of bugs but the gameplay is fun and the writing is fantastic so I'd say it's pretty good overall :)

Dumb question but couldn't you save a few seconds running into stunned Coco at the lab and dying to warp back to the world save? It saves the cutscene flag. This is my first time seeing a speedrun of this game so I could be wrong.
Coco does not hurt you on the PAL version of the game, which is what I'm playing on
I would also have to detour to hit the checkpoint outside the lab before entering, and (in most situations) I would have a mask so I would have to take damage twice on top of that. Ultimately it ends up not being worth it, even on NTSC
It is a neat bug though :)

Hi! I'm from Brazil so forgive me for possible English mistakes.
First, congratulations on the speedrun.
And second, could you explain something to me? How do you get Crash to go a little faster than normal? for example, being able to jump through this place 2:50, which I, for example, can't do at all, I tried and it really doesn't work.
So how do you manage to do this?
Another thing, I wanted to know if the emulator makes any difference. I use PCSX2, does using this infer on anything?
At 2:50 you can only get a full speed slidejump if you press jump before the edge of the platform. If you slidejump at the edge of something, Crash loses a lot of speed. This specific spot is tricky to get a good slidejump at, and just doing a normal doublejump over that gap is much easier
How are you able to run on the green acid in the boiler room I'm so confused cus I died so many times on that level
I use a trick called Zombie Mode to make Crash invincible - I explain how zombie works more in the description

Why you collect the last two gems in Iceberg Lab later?
It ends up being faster due to the cutscene being in the way in the middle of the level. The yellow gem is way out of the way on the 1st visit so it's better to grab that later. The red gem is a little closer but it ends up being worth it to grab it later with that falling platform trick if you get the trick 1st try.

Possibly, it's hard to say - the glitches do make the game super fun but the game is still fairly fun to play without them

How about there being a Glitchless 100 percent and All Levels Category?
There actually is an All Levels category already - if you check the leaderboards and click the Misc tab you can find it. As for glitchless, there are so many bugs in this game that I am confident it is not possible to complete the game without accidentally encountering or performing any glitches. Even if it was possible, it would be incredibly boring - the glitches are what help make this game so much fun
@@Joester98 I meant Glitchless as well for the All Levels Category I already knew about it I suppose both Glitchless categories would take 2-3 hours?? :)
Again, I don't think it is even possible to avoid all glitches when going through the game, whether it be casually or in a speedrun. There are simply too many of them, and a lot of them are easier to perform than they are to avoid.
A run that did everything the "intended" way would still have a lot of glitches and would probably be ~90 minutes or so

Low 1:09 is possible with some improved strats in a few places
To go lower than that I think you'd have to do the Sloths route + do N. Gin Skip or you'd need an Xbox

How do you do the skip at 30:42 ?
I do a slidejump to store a longjump, which I then use to jump around the cutscene trigger. The trigger is a big rectangle that sticks out over the edge of the platform there, and with a good longjump it is possible to get around it :)
