Gilmore Girls was one of the best television shows ever. Sadly it was really before it's time and was underappreciated.

what's really sad about gilmore girls to me is not how it was cancelled but how amy sherman palladino (creator) wasn't even there for the last season due to contract issues. she knew how she wanted to end it from the beginning. such a travesty.
It kills me that they ended it where they did, although I guess it wrapped up the things we really needed to know. It's crazy that it wasn't actually a series finale. Do you know how Amy wanted to end it?

Miss Malibu California Apparently Jess and Rory were meant to end up together in the last season. So sad but at least they had an open ending and she didn't end up with Logan so that the fanfiction writers have something to work with.

She's SO good as Sarah that I now freak out when I see Lorelai. Such different people.
To me she's both Sarah Braverman and Lorelai Gilmore. It's so weird to see her in such different shows and such different characters.

The only reason why Gilmore Girls got cancelled was because the last season was made without Amy Sherman-Palladino.
She and David Palladino brought the show to life and made it what it was and why so many people love it.

half of season 6 sucked which is probably why they left lmfaoooo season 7 improved on season 6
I love how Keiko Agena at the reunion when the cast was asked if they had any souvenirs, said, "We didn't know it was ending! I would have stolen so much stuff!!!" I also loved figuring out that Keiko's and John Cabrera's (Bryan's) glasses are still on the set!
she's such an amazing actress!!! i never got into Parenthood for some reason but my goodness was Gilmore Girls the most incredible TV show ever!!!!!!!!!

I got into Parenthood just for her. And she was brilliant in it. Another role as a single mother.

That's shocking. I always thought Gilmore Girls was planned to end. I didn't know it was just cancelled like that. So sad. I loved watching it with my mom and we're both so happy it's on Netflix. :D

I binged watch all 5 seasons of Parenthood on netflix in like a month and a half and than finished the final season on demand and it was one of the greatest shows i've ever seen! Lauren you and Ray Romano gave some of the best performances i've ever seen and i hope you both get Emmys for this final season; i'm gonna miss parenthood :'(

Thank god we are getting the Gilmore Girls revival that way we can see the show end the way that Amy Sherman-Palladino always intended for it to be. It was so obvious that the writers at the time had no idea whether or not the show was going to get cancelled because they literally dropped a lot of the story lines of season seven so they could tie up all of the loose ends and attempt to end the series on a good note. It felt very rushed.

roter13 I retract my earlier post lol. The revival in particular Rory's storyline was a hot ass mess. Season Seven's finale was a blessing compared to what happened to her in the revival.

i love the show but the revival about rory's life was so boring. I liked the transformation in emily's life and the luke-lorelai part . I fucking cried at the wedding, so fucking beautiful :((((

How can they cancel Gilmore Girls? :'( GG is one of my FAVOURITE show of all time, it's a gem. I miss it so much. Lauren is such a lovely lady. Soooooo funny and an absolute joy.
I think I cried during 90% of Parehthood episodes and I'm honestly embarrassed at how loudly I cried during the finale. I woke up my parents two floors up because that's my favorite show of all time and the freaking emotions. Ugh. I miss it

I feel like season 7 was a cleanup of the mess that was the last half of the season 6. Happy there's a revival.
Testament to GG, it’s the one show I can literally rewatch constantly. I’ve been doing it for +10 years now.
So sad to see this show go ... Parenthood was a really good show.
I'm gonna miss Parenthood. Such a great show, and Lauren Graham has done such a great job on it. I did a cover of the theme song as my way of saying thank you to the cast and crew, if anyone wants to check it out.

i stopped watching gilmore girls near the end bc i was just so annoyed that lorelai was never allowed to bloody well be HAPPY for goodness' sake - something always had to stuff it up and i was tired of it

Was unfamiliar with her until I started watching Parenthood (huge Mae Whitman fan). LOVE her to death. So talented, so funny, and endlessly charming. I'll always be a fan. Her scenes with other Parenthood characters were great. Mae's scenes with other characters were great. Their scenes together were some of the best stuff I've ever seen on TV. I'll have to check out Gilmore Girls sometime. I know some pretty big fans.

I love that she still wants a Princess phone, (she’s my girl…I still have an old landline “slimline” phone)…I’ve read her books…she means it. She has a kind of old timey sensibility to the simple things in life, and not hopping on every bandwagon like social media. Anyway, love her; she’s always great in interviews, Loved Parenthood. GG was a hard act to follow, I still binge it over and over, as do many people, but Parenthood was a great follow-up for her…a totally different type of great cast, and ensemble show. Great family stories. We need more new shows like this. …and….I wouldn’t be mad at more GG….❤

It had 6 great seasons, think it was good to end it. Alot of shows good on for to long and run out of fresh stories. It was an awesome show.

I just read an interview Lauren did right after Gilmore Girls ended and she said that it was pretty much a 50/50 chance whether the show would come back or not. She made it seem like it was her and Alexis’ decision not to come back, not that it was canceled. What is the truth???

well I watched it and I was so disappointed
I have not seen all of the seasons yet but the ones I saw were good gilmore Girls was better though.
after having seen ALL of the episoded, including the Year in the Life...I gotta say that that last episode of the 7th season did feel more like a finale than the netflix's special's last episode..with Rory's reveal at the end.
I was totally caught off guard, since I really expected it to be the END of all Gilmore Girls ends..and it ended up to feel like a CLIFFHANGER.
dunno if that was on purpose..and that Amy was hinting at more to come or it was just to troll the audience...but, it didn't feel satisfactory..especially with McCarthy only appearing so late in the game and in merely one small scene.
The revival was horrible. Amy should have picked up where Season 7 left off. The ending with the whole town there to say good bye to Rory and Rory's speech to her Mom was a great ending to the series. There was so much wrong with the revival, Amy ruined Rory's character.
She still looks great. One of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.
