- Since TWISTERS was released on July 19th, we’ve seen a lot of interest in and heard a lot of questions about storm chasing, storm spotting and how the movie portrayed the science of tornadoes. This free webinar from the National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma will dig into TWISTERS to compare how the movie portrays science with how it works in real life. This is not a storm chasing class, but we will provide some of the basic information you need to be able to observe storms safely and to stay safe when real-life twisters threaten. Whether you’ve seen the movie or not, this is valuable information for anyone who wants to learn more about the science of tornadoes.
