    Oh, thank god. Thank you for another video, Trey!! Moving from the upper Midwest to the Southcoast of New England has really made me miss the severe weather of home; this fills the void.

    April 19th is a day I’ll truly never forget from a meteorological perspective, orbiting supercells, extreme deviant motion, and a somewhat similar forecast evolution to May 3rd of 99, and indeed looking at the synoptic setups for 4/19/23, 5/3/99 and 5/4/07, all three are actually extremely similar setups on the large scale
    Absolutely crazy event
    Also super glad to hear that you’re back and that there will be more videos, what a wild time it has been for weather (especially this June)

    You are very knowledgeable when it comes to weather. Awesome👍🙂 meteorological breakdown. Oklahoma is tornado alley though, so they were overdue for a tornado outbreak. A, long as nobody gets injured from them. Looking forward to next video.

    Amazing analysis as always Trey! Just wanted to thank you for being so interactive with your community. Lotta wx people on Twitter think they’re too good to answer questions a lot of the time for whatever reason haha. But you Answer any and all questions & interact and it really helps a lot of us who are just really interested in learning about this. Plus I’m not sure I’ve watched someone who is as in depth and thorough with analysis’ as you! Awesome work!!

    Those ridges in the clouds on the visible satellite kinda look like standing waves. The clouds move but the ridges don't. Very cool looking. Love the videos as well.

    I managed to accidentally get a pic of the one that crossed I35. I was on 74 near Dick's Airport and looked out my passenger window. I saw the tornado and snapped a pic. Was pretty crazy. I shouldn't have even been there but ended up going south by mistake. lol

    When I first watch this event unfold, it reminded me of May 4thh, 2007 because of how deviant a cyclic the tornadoes were each in their own strength and even the embedded ones that occlude off. Also always your videos are well made and educated to people like me that want to learn more about metoerology and I'm wondering if you are going to be teaching classes on metoerology over this summer online becuase I would love for you teach me more about metoerlogy online :)

    • @ConvectiveChronicles
      @ConvectiveChronicles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, Colin…May 4, 2007, is a decent analog for how deviant the tornadoes were. I don’t teach actual classes online yet; perhaps in the future, I’ll have some courses or live streams with additional meteorology content.

    Just tossing out the suggestion for 'Hurricane' Elvis derecho that hit Memphis in 2003 for a video again. There was a wind event here a couple weeks ago and people were talking about the old storm again here locally. Sorry to bug you, but there is just so little as far as scientific reviews go for that event and I like how you do them. Love your work in any case!

    Damn I finally caught up on this one from all the recent videos and having proper time to chill with this doing some art stuff. Ah yes the April 19th event. This one if I remember was the one you were extremely worried about when you were out in the field chasing as it was going right for Norman and your place especially. I know this just avoided my friend Alex who we chase with in June each year from Norman and it missed his place to the South by like 3 miles I think. I think the most insane thing on this event was the sheer bonkers deviant motion these tornadoes had and how quick they turned to the North. There was almost some fujiwara effect stuff going on in that supercell. I usually prefer to watch ABC7 from Albany here rather than KFOR and News9 cause their coverage kind of get out of hand into IDK if hype is a good word but less focused on the storms and more about chasers in the field and video than showing the storm/radar. ABC7 usually keeps it very grounded and also they sprinkle in the juicy meteorology, little more detailed stuff, for people like myself that is like "whoa, we talking about that? That was actually pretty well detailed for what is suppose to be a general broadcast." Plus I do like how they split screen stuff where it's damn near always having the radar up.....when I can just easily look at Radarscope too. XD The video I do remember commenting on your YT channel of the time lapses and tornado was pretty damn good. The high based Blanchard, OK cell you got was phenomenal.
    However, still what made the April 19th event most notable besides the deviant motion from the meteorology perspective was the SRH values at 400+ on the 00z sounding and the hodograph in the 0-1KM presentation. hehe I do like how you mention also the balloon popping in one of the storms as it go carried away cause I thought something similar while many considered it to be a data loss.......I mean same thing. :P
    Now the May 11th one is strange how I kind of slightly forgot about this event already. Your video though I do remember seeing and almost a hybrid drill bit/multiple vortex tornado that was. Kind of crazy how wildly different that event was compared to the previous one but still did fire up a couple decently nice tornadoes there but yeah the low occluding and other issues preventing this from going kind of nuts again. Actually I think this was just about the time when the plains was just about to shut down for a time too if I remember so likely had some large scale pattern issues about to take place on the entire event taking shape as well as the pattern was kind of in a transitional phase too.

    April 19th was scary, the Shawnee EF-2 touched down just over 2 miles to my Northeast.
    May 11th was also worrisome, but was less crazy compared to April 19th.

    I’m slow to pick up this meteorology stuff but I always watch these. I don’t understand half of the words but I can’t not watch it. Especially this one. When this storm happened I thought it would be a pretty storm day just off of radar on the Norman storm. But people ended up getting smacked by unexpected tornadoes. Really wacky seeing two circulations orbit around each other like that.
