And to add to the nightmare, that whole area, all that flatland is unsafe. Did you see how randomly the quick clay formed? Year after year underground water chip away the salt from the quick clay. And all it takes some random disturbance to trigger huge chain reaction.

Now I am sad and at the same time shocked about this tragedy 😢The human being believes to be able to change the nature alone by his intelligence in order to reshape this afterwards artificially and to repopulate. This is a mistake! Nature has fought back How long will these new houses stand on NYSTULIA and VIERVANGEN? 3 to 4 years 🤔 For all those affected, I would like to express my condolences in the warmest possible form🙏✝

We see the ones remaining in the aftermath of this particular event, those not on "safer places" (for this occurrence) are sadly elsewhere now. That farm house? (at 07:44) sitting now on the precipice, below it in the shattered area are a building and a shed it seems that belonged nearby. But, yes, I suppose the earlier constructions were on flatter extents above and below the steeper areas and those hilly parts may have been used as grazing land and woodlot.

Norway is just plagued by that clay. It seems to be everywhere, needs little slope to flow, and can start moving at the slightest disturbance.
