I remember upgrading my PC to a top-of-the line ATI graphics card, buying this game, and then getting stuck on the second level because there was an incompatible shader, and being told by Eidos support that there were no plans to patch it and that I needed to get an Nvidia card to play it.
It kind of poisoned me to PC gaming for years after that.
Dang.
It started life as Deus Ex: Clan Wars, a multiplayer focused spin-off of Deus Ex but was changed when Deus Ex: Invisible War flopped
Here's another piece of trivia: this was written by Richard Gaubert, who also wrote Anachronox, Lost Planet 3, and God of War (2018).

great value is right, I remember getting this game from a random discount store *new*, for like 1.99. No joke, like maybe a year (tops) after it came out.
Dr. Altman? Might want to stay way the hell away from any markers- felt markers, map markers, people named Marcus, impossibly ancient artifacts from beyond the ken of man turning the dead and dying into nightmarish parodies of vitality, marker lights...
As a player that basically reloads after every fired shot, it really triggers me that Matt never manually reloads in shooter games. He is a braver man than I!

Really wish this game had gotten a sequel. It had some cool ideas that could have been expanded, not half bad graphics for the time, and the wait for Human Revolution was long~ and painful for us Deus Ex fans.
Oh my god, Pariah. I actually played that shit and it's like... legit one of the worst games I ever played, but yeah, INTERESTING. Certainly interesting.
My friend had it on his PS2, i borrow it but never finish it, when i saw it on Steam i know it i need to buy this gem.

I'll always remember this game as one of the few that I completed using the steam controller, because it was before we had full steam controller mapping and I'd sooner jump off a bridge that suffer through using a keyboard and mouse if I can avoid it. part of me wishes they had revised the Steam controller's design to be better but a bigger part of me is glad it's dead.

So many games on this channel give me the exact same reaction, which is: holy crap I played this and I don’t remember a single thing about it
no clue if there are even still servers live for it, but that online shooter Enemy Territories: Quake Wars was fucking rad as shit. Imagine Tribes 2 meets team fortress??? Would love to see you take a crack at that game or even do a retrospective on the Tribes series. Tribes was like quake but for space nerds. Also, sadly I think the servers are down, but if anyone still plays Shattered Horizon zero gravity space combat game is sick asf that game was sick!!!!
