I wonder if opinions have changed on Sanguinius with time. The games I've played, a slightly higher weapon skill is outsized impact, not only protecting your unit from hits but allowing you to get more hits. Dawnbreakers with spears, who lack slightly for attacks, get a large bonus against other elite units from Sanguinius. Attacking first with Reach, hitting even WS5 units like Huscarls, Dominators, etc on 3s, wounding on 2s, breaching on 5s - you're going to inflict decent damage, and the retaliation is mitigated. I'm less inspired by Crimson Paladins, -1 to wound is useful. But, if they use their deep strike ability and Sanguinius is around, getting +1 WS will multiply the benefits of the shields. I haven't had the funds to get Sanguinius yet, let alone play with him, but I think he's one of the better army buffs. WS bonuses are huge with that to hit table. He's not Guilliman or Curze, but I think he rates a little better. Disappointing that his stats do not reflect his combat prowess though - a primarch that Horus feared, one who was recognized as a superlative fighter, who took down several (*REDACTED, read Echoes of Eternity*) - I don't seem him repeating these feats on the battlefield in Heresy 2.0
