Night Lords are insanely OP if you can pilot them. I'd say an S tier tbh. They can force army wide penalties on their opponents better than any other Legion with Konrad's exploding pinning checks by taking out any unit and forcing Night Fighting. Combine this with their Fear auras and Terror Sqauds infiltration/rotor cannon combo, and you've already potentially immobilized half or more of the Legions. Throw on A Talent for Murder and you have an EASY +1 to wounds in both shooting/fighting phases. This doesn't even touch on Jago's Challenge strength being the best or 2nd best in the game, Konrads mobility, or Legion reactions. The one caveat, which was touched on, is that you have to skillfully pilot the army. They're not ooga booga Imperial Fist but they can take on any Legion and be on equal footing.
Discounting the PDF units makes this somewhat pointless. They are valid units not optional ones. They definitely alter the power of several legions. I agree some of them could certianly be labeled as broken, but ignoring them does not paint a helpful picture.
Am I missing something but why no tier list seems to include solar auxiliary, sister or silence, custodes or mechanicus ? they have proper rules now aren't they ?
I don't know man. Space wolves are easily s tier. The strongest compulsory troops one of the best reactions. Being the fastest army easily the strongest combat army super good legion terminators, apothecary Chaplin's being able to give everything a cover save super strong warlord traits super strong rites of wars and the best primarch. They're second only to imperial fists and that's not even certain
Alpha legion is definitly s tier not only is their trait ungodly annoying if the Alpha legion player plays to it's strenghts makeing them a pain in the ass to charge. But they can always just take the best unit form the whole legion list to put into their army. If you wanna play agressive you just steal the best comabt units if you want to play defencive you just steal the best shooting unit. Sure their own units ar ass and their equicment is garbage. But since they just use other legions stuff it really does not matter much in the long run.
I can't agree on Sons of Horus. They are one of the worst Legion in the whole game. Justaerin terminators are overpriced to the moment where they are waste if time, same for Reavers. Legion specific weapon is just a pure trash. Simple power weapon is just better. But the worse thing about this Legion is that, their Legion specific rule, the merciless fighters... is turned off by a single reaction to charge (decision is on enemy). Yes, it's useless to the point where whole decision it works or not - is fully on enemy side. SoH are trash. Not worth playing.
Ignore being one shot by Thunder Hammers and power fists on the charge. Rage(2) and Furious Charge(1) turns them into a deathball that will table most units immediately if equipped with Thunder Hammers and power fists themselves. I'm not really understanding where they're trash. A little overpriced, yes. Trash, no. Reavers get line (most legions dont get a line unit), Relentless and Precision Strikes, making them a great alternative to despoilers. "LITERALLY unplayable" I win probably 70% of my matches and play weekly against a dozen other people with my SoH. Either you tried them and didn't know how to abuse them, or play against SoH players who have no idea what they're doing. Their Legion rule is made to punish mistakes and force your opponent to second guess whether they really want to charge a given unit. I'm assuming your definition of "playable" actually means "blatantly fucking busted" though.
@@sublyme1994 The deal is that, it's the enemy player who picks that merciless fighters will work or NOT. It's not about you, it's all about enemy decision that merciless fighters will work or not. Without merciless fighters, SoH units are trash. SoH legion is just overpriced crap.
@AirsoftAddicted I'm not really understanding how your enemy is in control of whether or not Merciless fighters works. If your enemy refuses to charge you or stays on the back foot with movement, then they aren't achieving much anyway. If you charge a group that's already in combat with another of your units, you receive that benefit ON TOP OF Rage (Furious charge as well if its Justaerin)... If you're only worried about pure killing potential, then sure. But if you're actively holding objectives with your 20 man Reaver blob they HAVE to come to you. I abuse the rule several times a game. Your opponent REALLY has to be careful about what they decide to do. The play style is punishing and requires a little brain work, but it's far from trash. It's just not as blatantly simple or busted as other Legion rules
@@sublyme1994 Such expensive units can be wiped out of the board in 1 turn. Reavers? T4 S3 guys are soft. So staying at objective with units with sick ppm cost is not as that smart or opponent is doing something horribly wrong. And if you charge, anything that can deny attack bonus - is also taking away Merciless fighters bonus. So in terms of rules... a single charge reaction. As simple as that.
@AirsoftAddicted "Such expensive units can be wiped off the board in 1 turn." Congratulations you just described every elite unit in the game. Anything can be wiped in a single turn when you have to focus 3000 points of firepower into it. Good luck doing that with 10 Justaerin and a 20 man blob of Reavers. The only way for your enemy to avoid Merciless fighters is to avoid combat entirely, which is not feasible for an objective based game. Your mindset is killing potential. Not winning the match. If your answer to Reavers sitting on an objective is to take movement reactions and let me keep the point, then congrats. You're doing EXACTLY what I want you to do. It tells me you are scared to take them in combat, because, they are nasty as fuck in combat.

What legions are good with PDF?
@@ADhammer There are some very powerful units in the PDF. Sunkillers for EC, Fulmentarus for UM, and Deliverers for RG just to name a few.
I would put the SW in A tier, they are really mobile when it comes to infantry.

Wolves and Iron Warriors both S tier.
