Direct Query is a new capability in Qlik Sense SaaS that enables analytics apps to generate SQL queries directly against cloud databases as the user interacts with data through visualizations and dynamic filtering. So what might be the reasons that "files and other sources" is not available? And I see your other answer, the 3 dots only apear at MSSQL. How would I achieve this via MySQL?
Hi there please use community.qlik.com/ and post your question there as you can provide more information in regards to this question. As for MySQL Direct Query only supports Amazon Redshift, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Analytics, Databricks, Google BigQuery, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Snowflake at this time.
I'm trying it with SQL Server database, installed the gateway and configured the connection, but when clicking on the 3 dots to open the direct query menu (3:09), the option is not there. Am I missing anything else to make it work? Thanks
Hi Alejandro - this capability is just for MS Azure SQL not MS SQL - hope that helps - also please consider using the Qlik community at community.qlik.com - as you can get faster and more detailed replies there.
@@QlikOfficial I will ask there, for sure. But I thought that it was possible, as it says in the video at 1:20. I would appreciate if you can clarify on this. Thanks!
@@QlikOfficial The video literally shows Snowflake example in the beginning and it says that it is available for Postgre and MS SQL so what am I missing ? why only MS Azure
I apologize - I made a mistake - I got confused between our Direct Access - Gateway capability and Direct Query capability - the naming conventions can mess with your head lol. So this is not a supported configuration as outlined here: help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/DirectQuery/limitations-direct-query.htm Direct Access Gateway does not support Direct Query capability
