Christmas of 1979 (age 6) I pulled a cassette tape from my stocking...a compilation of songs from the 1950's. I literally broke the rewind function on my cassette player listening (and relistening:) to this wonderful song! as well as Sugar Shack by the Fireballs 💞🎵
LOVE this song! Always have. I didn't know Del was so short! Paul does his typical impeccable rendition of the Musitron lead (using a modern synth). Loved Paul and the band and Del sounded great (and had his usual enthusiasm).
when I was waiting tables in Hawaii, I waited on him with a couple others one night, really friendly and nice, honestly I didn't recognize him. As a waiter in Hawaii you tend to chit chat with most people as they like to know about the area etc. he introduced himself " I'm Del, Del Shannon. I was like "no sh*t! wow like your music" he was very cool , I guess he was in the islands doing some gigs, Had to be between 80 - 84
The smile says it all. Del nailed it perfectly with the why, why, why and he knew it.
One of my all time favs. Timeless.

This song reminds me of my dad. He had a cherry colbalt blue Barracuda back in the day. I forget the year of the model, but I loved that car. It had an 8-track deck. Del Shannon and Dion greatest hits were always on constant play in that car. Also, the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever...
What a great tribute to Del Shannon Paul's band they play this song excellent
I was 15years old and at the funfair. runaway was blaring out. It was just such a magical moment. just right for a funfair
I'm from Michigan. So much love for Del

I would watch for Del on TV whenever he’d make an appearance. So glad to have appreciated his music before he passed
I remember this broadcast vividly
WOW!! That was a fantastic Live Performance!!
RIP Del Shannon 🙏🙏
Wow! We used to drag race with Del's 8 track playing as loud as it would play back in the mid 60's. Still love it in June 2019
Early sixties, every year the travelling funfair came to the field at the back of our house, this song blasted out time and time again just added to the excitement, happy days.
