  • In this video we tune the Ho version of the Yamaha R7 and compare the results with a de restricted and tuned Lams version. The Lams model is a 660 cc and the HO a 690 cc. Watch the video to see what we discovered.
    All the parts used in this video are availble through our online shop.

    Currently working on a lams r7, MVR pod filters with carbonsmith velocity stacks and a cam upgrade. Should see over 80rwhp

      hello sir i just want to ask if the restricted r7 has a smaller cc engine than a regular r7 or is the engine size the same and it only has for example ecu throttle and air intake restrictions?

    • @6tdegrees
      @6tdegrees ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@bg5jckkgjc884 the restricted R7 is a 660cc, where as the open class is a 690cc.. so only 30cc less which doesnt account for much.
      There is a throttle plate restriction and an ECU map restriction.
      Honestly theres only 1 or 2 horse power difference with the restricted version and open class after a tune on the dyno (with performance parts)

    Make me realise the Ninja 650 Lams is in some a better base engine to modify. I’ve picked up a few damaged Ninjas to make into track bikes, the ninja throttle body is a lot bigger than the MT throttle body to start with.
    Only have the throttle stop to remove to make it fully unrestricted. No intake restrictions at all. (Talking 2017 +)
    Just wish Kawasaki will 270 degree it’s crank

    Would the change from LAMS to ho be road legal, and how much would the whole process would cost roughly?

    • @jadsmvs8651
      @jadsmvs8651 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's actually a seperate smaller 655cc engine in the LAMS version, not just a chocked-out 689cc engine so it would cost a pretty penny. You might as well just buy the HO version and get your full licence at that point.

    How would you compare this bike to the cbr650r?

    • @2450logan
      @2450logan ปีที่แล้ว

      You got a chance of not killing yourself on the CBR lol. I like the CBR you have to wind it up to boogie. The R7/MT07 has alot of ompf down low, I test rode both and ended up with the CBR it's a more relaxed seat position too.

    These motors also aren’t the same as the MT-07 HO motors. They’re built with sustained RPM in mind, which the regular HO motor cant deal with
