So these are pre-paired. What happens if one unit dies? Do you have to buy another pair or can you buy a single replacement unit and pair it to the old one?
I"m trying to align this thing at only 10 meters and the LED's are not changing no matter what I do, the station side just has the red circle with blue cicrulating, and the client side has green along the left (if facing it) and all red elsewhere, but this coloring does not change no matter where I move things.
Can I configure a second outbuilding with the same station? The two outbuildings are in a straight line (almost). So I'm hoping I can save money and double up on the outbuildings (APs) without doubling up on the main building (station).
the last one i did a while ago , i alligned it between the buildings and adopted to a cloudkey because it does not work without one and then updated the firmware , also when there's nothing connected (LAN link) the 60 ghz will not switch on also , a client called me about this that 60 ghz was off, so , i sked if there was a link connected to the other site , the answer was no , so connected a switch and all was fine.
Thanks for the video, mate. One question: these devices also extend the Wi-Fi network, can i connect to them like a normal ap? Or they just use the 5ghz band to connect to each another and i need separate aps on both ends for wifi coverage?
I would think part of it has to due with it being an out of the box turn key solution. Charging more for the convenience of not having to do any backend configuring.
I use one set already and they are just as easy to setup and pair as any unifi AP, so it's more for convenience and if I need to get an external build back up asap, it's the fastest solution for me so far. Just bought a second set to replace an old rocket set
I have a UDM-SE switch on the main building. Could I use an USW-Lite-8-PoE switch on the remote side? I want to plug in a Unifi U6LR AP in the remote building.
Is there a way to turn off the LEDs? I’ve installed a lot of airmax, but I like the simplicity of this. I don’t like the attention the leds would draw in some of my applications.
How do you think this would work in an application in a city building environment with many wireless routers and access points in the buildings. There will be a clear line of sight for about a 1/2 mile connection.
Does anyone know if the QuickMount that is available for the NanoBeam would work with these? Was looking for a mount that had a little more articulation than what comes in the box. Would rather not have to mast mount it if I don't have to . Need to mount to a side of a building and point off to the side, the QuickMount for NanoBeam would work great for this.
he was being sarcastic when he said this is very exciting, but im currently putting together my first real big network project and my heart thumping when it was booting up
So I dont know if its a good idea or not, but I just ordered these. My parents are always having problems with their internet at home and running back and forth to their place to see what the problem is has just gotten on my nerves. My parents house is about 350 feet from my house. Yes my home is on the same street as my parents because Im a big ass momma's boy and what better to be a hop skip and a jump from my parents haha. Since I already have Flex switch installed in my attic for my cameras, getting ethernet to this will be a breeze on my end. I will have to run some Cat6 on their end to run from the roof to the Flex switch im going to put in the entertainment center in their living room. Shouldn't be to bad. I just feel like it will be a way for them to ditch their current ISP and give me control over their internet, so if any problems ever arise I dont have to go trekking down the street all the time. Also this gives me the opportunity to tinker with this building bridge which I love to do haha. Like I said I dont know if this is a good idea, but Im going to try and see how it works out before I have my parents ditch their ISP. If it does work out, then their is always ebay are facebook marketplace.
Every video I watch about these, there is such focus on the LED, but they never actually put one up and show you how it does at mile, or even just a thousand feet. I need to link my house and my shop building, about 350 feet, but there are a few trees in the way. I figure I'm gonna have to chop those trees down.
I attempted to setup a set of these and the first one wouldn’t adopt. I kept getting an error something to the effect that the second one wasn’t available so it wouldn’t adopt the first one. I reset both of them and tried again. The customer had attempted to set them up once before and the firmware was up to date. Not sure what the deal was.
great video, Willie i got a question for you, i need to connect to points, maybe 5 kilometers between each one, what device is the best to this particular deploy? i really appreciate if you can help me, i follow you long time ago
If I have installed incorrectly the station device to a switch with dhcp and the the other one which is the source device, can I still be swap then using the controller?
@@WillieHowe so last question, if the source device is connected wihout the dhcp switch I can still manage and then configure it as access point so we do not need to uninstall the device from the pole?
Sigh. I wonder when this Ubiquiti Stock shortage is going to end. I'm basically forced to look at TP-Link Omada as an option to supply a Lodge with wifi in the near future. This UniFi brigde is LIT though. Would prefer using this all over the lodge to monitor bridge systems in the future much more easy via UniFi system.
The update thing saved me a TON of headache! Thanks
Why do the upgrade through SSH when the "Start rolling upgrade" button was right there in the console?

Would be great to see some bandwidth/nperf tests at maybe 10m/20m/etc.
And 100 meters
@ 9:10 I am setting up standalone. How do I get that webpage at Unifi?
Great video. Thanks for the detailed walk through. Gave the like at "Don't judge" LOL.
it would be nice to see how to use the alignment tool

@ 6:32 how to find that firmware info at unifi?
Are there any real advantages to this over a pair of AirMax Gigabeams for half the cost? Just the dashboard integration with Unifi?

what would you suggest for connecting 3 building wirelessly to a 4th building?
Glad I saw this before I unboxed some. Thanks!

Sorry .. I got lost as to why you had to do a manual firmware upgrade instead of doing it the same way as the switch ?
@@WillieHowe Ah righty ho then. That did happen to me on a USG Pro once. Thanks for the video and the reply :)

Yes, there's an option to dim the LEDs down to 0%
How does it work with voice data going through the network?

I wish to know the answer to this also, from one condo tower to another condo tower, balcony to balcony...less than 300feet/100m

Did you ever notice that the B2B does not show properly in the Unifi topography map? Any idea why?
do this bridge pair also include a builtin wifi access point?
Really cool video!
Do you have to have a switch on the other end or can it be a stand alone AP or directly connect to an AC Lite?
It can connect directly to an AP

Hello everyone.
Does anyone know which devices goes where? The UBB XG US comes with Station and Access Point, what's the difference?
It's a bridge -- doesn't matter which one goes on which side.
