Since I am an MTX boi in PoE, I got my invite to PoE 2 and I can't wait for the weekend. Been playing PoE for 11-12 years on and off. I want to see and test my own theory crafting right from the get go as a summoner. I think you should try endgame with isometric ARPGs. If you like setting yourself goals and slowly realizing them, step by step, building your character and seeing how strong it gets. This is what PoE does the best + you customize the endgame to your liking, how you want to farm and which mechanics you want to focus on.
GGG was started by a couple guys straight out of college. They loved d2 and seen that no one was making a d2 type aarpg with a lot of depth so they made one. They literally started in a garage and have slowly grown and grown just by POE 1 being successful. Now with POE 2 it seems they got some serious funding and a decade of experience behind them to really go all out. There’s videos on their journey on TH-cam. Def just some gamers who wanted to make a game they liked playing. Not to mention they are extremely consumer friendly which is becoming less and less the norm with games. For 30$s you can have a legitimate AAA experience without all the AAA bs!
Seeing you so excited about a game genre you only dabble in is 100% assuring that this is the GOAT ARPG we have all been waiting for since Diablo 2. Great Video.

Good video. I'm about to start Diablo IV for the first time along with its expansion, so by the time I'm done with that and New World Aeternum which I also haven't started, along with Mass Effect 2 and 3...well....I expect that Path of Exile will be at an awesome state a patch or two after the full release. I can wait, as I usually do for new games so I can get them at their best state. I just recently finished Cyberpunk 2077. Glad I waited a couple of years for that. Ended up in my top 5 games ever.

Why is everyone suddenly pretending like BG3 is up there with the greats? Its mediocre, and insanely gay. Its generic DEI sIop, literally. Dont put Larian in the same sentence as GGG.
I’m wondering what makes you feel that way? I’m still trying to understand the hype about POE2 - to me (I’m not a pro), it looks like any other ARPG so far
@@RiseUpification the fact that spells and skills are polished and interact with one another, the graphics are good and atmosphere is amazing, the slower more methodical gameplay that requires focus, the different endgame systems/pinnacle bosses that are coming with the launch of Early Access and not in 5 years, the sheer amount of content that exists in the game, the new more fleshed out story that they are going with seems really cool, the classes seems distinct and unique to one another and on top of that the ascendancies that change your character in meaningful ways. you can trade every item in the game except gold so there is a player driven economy in the game and incentivizes to farm whatever content you want and trade for items that come from content you don't like so you are not forced to do them. All of these is why players are hyped and the most important is that the company is just honest and lets you keep your microtransactions from the first game. Hope this helps
@@ahazu1445 Understood. It’s interesting how people can have such different perspectives on the same thing. Personally, I found the sorceress class rather boring and thought it looked almost identical to other mage/sorceress classes in ARPGs so far - with Frost Nova, Frost Bolt, a few lightning spells, and that’s about it. And the graphics of the spells didn’t even catch me. I was hoping for a real revolution in this area, but I honestly couldn’t see any drastic innovation

Imma throw my two cents here for people incessantly comparing PoE Diablo 4. Do compare but no need to put down the other game to make PoE make godlike. Death animations on enemies in PoE 2 like PoE are always same for each enemy time. Now same is vastly different in Diablo 4, depending on your weapon as well as skill you use these death animations are so different and look amazing. Don't get me wrong I'm a PoE buff playing every league and enjoy it but there's clearly pros and cons to each game. So let's not be Uber biased, leave that to rage grifters lol
Blizzard have been an industry locus for the ambition of artists for years. And they can afford them too. So it is no surprise that they can put out a good cutscene, animation or splash art.
This PoE 2 is for ARPG like the Baldur's Gate 3 for CRPG, the December 6 it's explode internet. GGG devs deserves it. For this passion, transparency and for "simply" make a fuc*** good game

GGG were, at their Hearts, Diablo 2 Players... Who were let down and forgotten by Activision / Blizzard like all of us OG Players from that Time Period. They Eventually were like, "Hey we can do Better" and thus has made POE and are Revolutionizing, the ARPG Genre. I am SOOO Happy to see you play this Wolf! I hope that you do stick around and play it for a time and do some of the End Game! This Game is going to be BG3 / Elden Ring Teir Stuff!! And this game will be the NEW EVOLUTION OF ARPGS just like what Larion did to CRPGS!
People here need to realise this is not some story driven RPG or a Soulslike. Whether it’s better than Diablo or not, it’s the same genre: A LOOTGRINDING ARPG as Hack and Slash. If you don’t like blasting through maps and grinding for hours and hours with a very repetitive endgame loop: don’t play it! It will definitely get you frustrated. And don’t get fooled. PoE2 won’t stay this very slow paced kite simulator you see in all those videos. Especially PoE is very weak on the storytelling end, it was never the strong point of GGG and judging the Alpha this didn’t change. Diablo is definitely a lot stronger in this regard.

It's sometimes a bit hard to remember the days of not knowing Path of Exile. I've been playing since 2012, so I remember when Dominus was added to Path of Exile 1 (For context: That is the boss of act 3, out of a campaign with 10 acts and a HUGE endgame) and that still feels a bit "new" to me. Great to see this perspective! Looking forward to meeting you in wraeclast, exile. This will be exciting for all of us!
I've been playing POE since the closed beta and the only thing I'm afraid of is that the success of the PoE2 will slow down the development of the PoE1. These games are not the same
As someone who likes to take my time getting to endgame in PoE1 I’m ecstatic about the level of engagement ggg appears to have put into campaign part of the game. Lot of areas to explore and things to find outside the main quest(s) along the road to endgame.
Tbf GGG did a great job with servers compared to most online games. The release night probably has a big queue to secure server stability, it will still be a bit laggy and you might get dcd but after 12-24hrs its usually smooth sailing. Then its a new game with huge hype behind it so idk wheter the wave of players is too huge to handle . Im hopeful though.
Watched the whole video, haha. Great that you got to play Wolfheart. Would be great to get some content in it from you, your BG3 videos really helped me a LOT. Thanks!
I have a good few thousand hours in PoE1, I know people where put off with the over bloated currency etc. But, PoE2 will address many of these issues. This to me is what D3 should have been, it's D2 on steroids!
I've following you since Baldur's Gate 3 EA launched, cannot wait to see what you cook up in POE 2 bro. I'm going Legionare Mercenary, assuming you are too or ranger?
I just need to know… can you reset them readily and easily? I can do a complicated skill tree but I’m not trying to plan out something like that at level one without mistakes. The inability to fully reset at will is literally the ONLY thing that kept me from playing POE.
thanks for you video. i am looking forward to giving this game a try on 12/6. Always appreciate hearing your opinion on new games... even as a "Casual" ARPG player LOL...
my only concern is: can i play poe2 during daytime? because poe1 ( and a lot of other arpg) is so dark / missing a gamma/ brightness setting that it's impossible to see anything if you can not blackout your room during the day... at least for me
Hey Wolf, hope to see more videos on PoE 2 in the future if time allows it! I think it’ll get some good growth for the channel in the first couple months as well.
thx for showing - thinking about getting a small Early access package now / does it have so much loot as DIablo 4? cant play diablo 4 anymore because handling all that loot is just too much stress..
The comparisons between Larian and GGG as studios is very on point. We were all kinda bummed out when we heard Larian is not gonna do and expansion for BG3. Instead they made modding tools for us to tell our own stories, and added a new subclass for every class, for free, even though we absolutely would've paid something for them. The same way GGG decided "look, ya'll have supported us so much over the years, we're just going to make the skins and things you've bought in PoE1 work on PoE2 where applicable, even though we're a live service game and selling microtransactions is the way we make money" Both companies are passionate to both support the longevity of their games and even make decisions that will clearly hurt their revenue if they feel like that's the right way to go long term. Like, I'm not a rich guy but feeling appreciated as a community member instead of just a customer works and I'm sure PoE2 will still sell me those support packs even though I'm sure I'd never really 'need' to drop another dime.
Ranger looks like so much fun. Just hope servers are ready for what's coming lol I honestly think this game will be doing crazy numbers on PC. I am on PS5 so hopefully it has a crazy launch on my platform as well.
I love the 2 weapon slots! My favorite character archetype, which I have only done in Skyrim, is a ranged mage + melee fighter! :) Although.. seeing as strength and intelligence are totally opposed on the passive tree.. not sure I will be able to do it either ^_^
It's literally going to be me, going through this (first time playing an arpg, at 46) and Infinity Nikki and POE2 soon enough..excited for both..atleast i can play Nikki for the evening before, doubt i couod sleep..feels like Christmas again..i live alone..so this is rare..
I started my early adulthood and first PC with the original Diablo 1. I finished that game on Hell difficulty with every single class. If POE2 can in any way replicate that feeling, I'm happy. I don't even need the 10.000 hours of endgame content. I just want a game that FEELS like something new and wonderful, impactful, and immersive. I'll gladly grind the story and early maps 20 times if the game is good, to find new builds.
i mean tbf, i dont know much about poe and arpgs but i heard that poe was heavily inspired by diablo 2 i think and was kinda dubbed a "diablo-like" and well now poe 2 is its successor. so it really did all come from diablo. the point to aim is very common in any kind of top down/isometric shooters so surprised that was a sorta new thing to u. great modern example is hades. as for how i feel. im def excited for this. i almost wrote it off because i thought it was gona be another click to move isometric rpg. which im not the biggest fan of isometric, but the click to move just makes it 10x worse. the only exception i have for click to move is adventure quest worlds. a 2d in browser flash based mmo rpg that i used to play long long ago. but someone told me that it has wasd movement and i was like "ooo that changes things" younger i was always interested in fantasy rpgs, but always was thrown off by the complexity of it all. seeing 20 little squares on screen with inventories filled with hundred of different potions, amulets, charms and each having 10 different stats. and of course the perspective. thats why ive always been drawn to simple rpgs like adventure quest worlds and i was a big fan of the wynncraft server on minecraft. was sad to see the direction it went. more appealing to typical rpg players but not to me. but this game looks so good and i think ive finally grown into the complexity a little bit. but i feel like poe2 handles it well. i prob still wouldnt like other complex rpgs. and prefer simple ones. especially if theyre third or first person. which is what made avowed seem so appealing to me. but now we shall see how that turns out considering all the controversy with it recently. and the dei
The idea of playing a melee class with a 2ndary crossbow/bow for ranged damage is very exciting. Duelist especially should be able to easily reach both kinds of nodes once they release him.
I'm not a huge fan of games with resetting seasons, but I LOVED Diablo 2 so I'll probably give this game a bash. I liked POE1 when it first dropped, I just burned out fast on the seasons. Apparently the story is better for this one as well, so I should at least get a couple hundred hours out of it... vastly more than Diablo IV gave me lol. Always happy to support out neighbours from across the pond too. 💜

Diablo 4 was my 1st Arpg but didn't really get too deep into it. Fell off after I had completed the campaign. Poe2 though looks way more engaging with how they've played out the endgame. Definitely learning what I can.
You can tell they put a lot of thought into what makes a good arpg and developed a solid philosophy around it. I think this one is going to be something special.

I’m ashamed to say that I just bought Diablo 4 because of this. I still got the pass for POE but it does sound intimidating for a casual player who’s never played a ARPG. So far I am enjoying D4 and it’s easy to understand, but I will most likely try POE eventually.
@@styslwsociety8 I'll describe it like this as I did to my co-worker is into video games. He plays for fun and something to do to waste time while getting stoned or drunk. SO he's always been into non thinking games. PoE2 is the type of game that challenges you to get better and see meaningful progression. If I want to pass the time video games are the last thing I do.
Bro 15-20 hrs a week isn't "super casual" lol
@@DJ_Duck_Sick It is when you consider many play 8-16 hours a day.
I will be playing Path of Exile 2 this week for the first time (I haven't played the first one)!
Awesome. I think you're going to enjoy it George.
From a PoE vet: you are in for a real treat, friend. Take it slow and savor everything.
I am pretty sure you wont this week. Servers will die on the weekend. Mark my word. If they dont then they got blessed by some saint from GGG and we need to thank him. (Poe 1 player here talking from Poe 1 experience with servers + giant influx of people)
@@PitchBlackRoses The problem should be mitigated due to the GGG's brilliant move to charge for EA. Not only do they recoup a portion of their production costs, but come Friday, they'll have a very specific headcount on all preorders to date. While this obviously won't include Friday's purchases (and onward), I believe it'll lessen any serious impact on the servers in the short-term.
@@_george84 thats 99% of the hype... ppl that never played the game...
so grateful they made respecing easier, plus the video descriptions for skills saves so much skill gem bloat and needless experimenting to see what is actually useful for a build.
"..best feeling ARPG I have ever played.."
*crowd roars approval*
"..that doesn't mean it's the best ARPG of all time, but -.."
Crowd: "Burn him!! Suffer not the heretic to live!"
🤣
I wasn't 100% sure if i should REALLY try it out, but after watching this video, i'm sold on it! Thank you very much, Wolfheart for clarifying things for me!
YESS wolf posts a POE2 video!! lets GO!!! I was looking forward to this one! Really glad you expressed the movement! the most important change to an ARPG!
It was probably important for GGG to get some guys like you who don’t play arpg’s religiously to get your thoughts. It gives them vital feedback on whether or not they’re gonna be attracting new players in mass.
for sure!
I am currently playing PoE 1 as a shadow/ saboteur 95 hours, and it is so addictive game, loving it so much, and what is drive someone crazy that the game is FREE imagine that
I'm happy to see you playing this game as well! I'm super hyped about it.
Cheers
I'm looking forward to this game the most this upcoming year!
PoE2 is bringing people together around a common longing and anticipation. The positivity is infectious.
Happy to hear you enjoyed it and will be streaming it!! Looking forward to exploring the game
Hey! Thanks epif. Can't wait for the 6th
All these new rpg studios like Larian, Warhorse and Grinding Gears(PoE devs)
Are exciting since Bioware, Bethesda and Blizzard are dead
Larian is not exactly new. Founded in 96.
They aren’t new though
Jumped into PoE this week and I’m loving it. Definitely getting PoE2 this weekend. Hopefully, servers are decent by Monday. 🤞🏻
Dude, you were mentioned in another guy's video, and I was wondering when you were going to upload your POE2 video. Nice!
Yeah, both wolfheart and legendary drops mentioned that they were sat next to eachother being totally blow away by the game, and they've both mentioned it, ahaha I noticed that too :)
I can’t wait to try this game. So glad you went to the demo. I really trust your opinion. Yours was a great overview of the game. Very helpful.
Thanks Kev
The only problem I have with POE is I can't get my casual friends to try it since the skill tree is so scary.
just a reminder, if you pay for early access. you will gain an equal amount to spend in the store.
What does this mean? That you’re really just buying in game currency to get early access? that’s interesting, and awesome
@@loganross1861 Yeah, the $30, $60, $100, and $160 packs for early access also gives you that same value of in game currency (everything from $60+ also gives you cosmetics on top of that) so you can buy stash tabs and stuff.
That’s actually even more incentive to purchase EA. That’s sick.
@@loganross1861Yep, exactly this. They do this with every supporter pack. It contains a number of store points equivalent to the cost of the pack.
Also the higher tier packs include everything from the packs in the lower tiers, including keys. So for example if you buy the $60 pack you will get $60 worth of points, the cosmetics from the pack, and the keys from the $60 pack and the $30 pack, one of which you can give to a friend or something if you wanted to.
I'm so busy right now, I'll just wait for full release. But that is crazy consumer friendly. GGG gives me hope when companies like PlayStation and others are becoming more and more greedy.
Nice to hear a more casual perspective personally, I am gonna try to treat this game like a single player experience and see where it takes me
Thrilled to see you covering Path of Exile, I hope you continue to make content for it. I really think the Larian comparison is fair and that is reason enough to introduce the game to as many people as possible. GGG is a fantastic studio that prioritizes satisfying their player base with a quality product and excellent communication from engaged developers.
Poe 1 is the evolution of Diablo 2 and Poe2 the evolution of Poe1
I'm incredibly excited to play Poe2 , this is everything I wanted and more.
The art/art style , graphics, spell effects, ost , monster/boss design, changes to the systems, ,they moved the skills, supports out of gear, in game wiki, better explanations, gold respec and currency AH(both in Poe1too) and more , it looks amazing
The bosses in poe2 are so well done, souls like with good hitboxes, mechanics. I love that you can dodge and the bosses in maps don't just melt
@@ScientistNoRyu poe2 is only a more accessible console version of poe, in no way its an evolution. Pc game going on console is definitly a regression
There is nothing Soulslike in here, it’s more a kite simulator early on and later a Hack n Slash.
Long-time Diablo player here. Not only am I not going to assault you in any way, I'm going to stand by you and walk into the bright ARPG future PoE2 has for us.
There are times when fandom matters and games and studios have to be defended because of old glory and because second chances are something everybody deserves.
And then there are times we just have to forgive, forget, let go and continue onward.
you love to see genuinely great games like bg3 and poe2 get the love and attention they deserve. the great games stand out that much more because of the slop all the AAA studios (you know which ones) shovel on us
Why is everyone suddenly pretending like BG3 is up there with the greats? Its mediocre, and insanely gay. Its generic DEI sIop, literally.
Dont put Larian in the same sentence as GGG.
I didn't play the ARPGs after D2, because they looked and sounded boring to me. This one here is different. I will 100% try this out!
@@RiseUpification you can’t fully appreciate it unless you already know the depth of PoE1 and how much more refined everything seems in PoE2
@@brilobox2 maybe so yeah. I’ll try it and maybe then I will be able to see what you guys are seeing
As a huge ARPG and CRPG fan, this is the overlap I didn't expect but is very cool to see!
I like it when I hear "PoE 2 is a generational leap for APRGs in the same way BG3 was for CRPGs"
Ive sunk over 4000 hours into PoE1. Ive been following your content since BG3 EA. Yes, you're not an ARPG guy, however i'm super excited to see your excitement over one of my favorite series. Im 10/10 stoked. Thank you.
I'll never play this game, but cool video. Looks fun. Commenting for the engagement :)
Thanks Mitch
Nice to hear from you, Wolf. Waiting for your playthrough on patch8 (BG3) soon!
Dudes will see this and just think “hell yea”
That's all we need right
Wolf you have ascended in to the Avatar of the middle millenial RPG enthusiast.
Any developer should take note of your impression of anything RPG related
Lmao I will gladly take that ascension
Imma throw my two cents here for people incessantly comparing PoE Diablo 4. Do compare but no need to put down the other game to make PoE make godlike.
Death animations on enemies in PoE 2 like PoE are always same for each enemy time. Now same is vastly different in Diablo 4, depending on your weapon as well as skill you use these death animations are so different and look amazing. Don't get me wrong I'm a PoE buff playing every league and enjoy it but there's clearly pros and cons to each game. So let's not be Uber biased, leave that to rage grifters lol
Totally agree. Amount of people who just become yes-man and agree to every opinion of youtubers is astounding 😂
For this passion, transparency and for "simply" make a fuc*** good game
finally!! I've been waiting your review on this one dude!
Appreciate that Dixie!
@@WolfheartFPS That was one of the best - on point reviews of the game (at least for me!). Always focused on the stuff that actually matter to the gameplay, which others often won't address at all. You're really good at what you do wolf, thank you for the reply and all the content man!
The games looking super fun can't wait to give it a try
Hell yeah Proxy! How to beat Path of Exile 2 as a cat coming soon? (on a real note the druid is not available at the start of early access lol)
Great video, Wolf! I don't play ARPGs, but I'm very excited to watch you play this game!
🍻 🙏
does the connection were stable ? no disconnect /lag ? because HC is impossible if there's instability . thanks :)
I have so much end of the year work to get done. I’m going to try to finish it all this week so I can have fun playing POE2 rest of the month!
People here need to realise this is not some story driven RPG or a Soulslike.
Whether it’s better than Diablo or not, it’s the same genre:
A LOOTGRINDING ARPG as Hack and Slash.
We got Larian studio for TB RPG and Grinding Gear games for ARPGs. What a wonderful time we live in
Everyone's gonna be building cold damage for those beautiful shatters.
December is pretty dry for game releases. i might pick up early access and play until Stalker 2 gets fixed
Anyone know if you use a controller to play if you can use a mouse for inventory management without having to go into options to change control options? For example if using a controller i hit the W key on my keyboard does it switch to KBM?
Good question not sure
Its like that in poe 1 so i hope they carried over the switching part
It's sometimes a bit hard to remember the days of not knowing Path of Exile. I've been playing since 2012, so I remember when Dominus was added to Path of Exile 1 (For context: That is the boss of act 3, out of a campaign with 10 acts and a HUGE endgame) and that still feels a bit "new" to me.
Great to see this perspective! Looking forward to meeting you in wraeclast, exile. This will be exciting for all of us!
🍻
I've been playing POE since the closed beta and the only thing I'm afraid of is that the success of the PoE2 will slow down the development of the PoE1. These games are not the same
it will 100% happen just expect it
As someone who likes to take my time getting to endgame in PoE1 I’m ecstatic about the level of engagement ggg appears to have put into campaign part of the game.
This looks phenomenal.. thanks for the spotlight
This game finally did what should've been done 20 years ago: separate movement and aim.
Great video, I'm in the same boat being a casual but can't wait for this
Watched the whole video, haha. Great that you got to play Wolfheart. Would be great to get some content in it from you, your BG3 videos really helped me a LOT. Thanks!
Thanks Charles!
Thanks man. Really got into the first game, and this one looks even better.
Thanks for watching
I have a good few thousand hours in PoE1, I know people where put off with the over bloated currency etc. But, PoE2 will address many of these issues. This to me is what D3 should have been, it's D2 on steroids!
So glad you had fun dude
Thanks man
Gauntlet legends was an amazing game I completely forgot about, thank you for reminding me
I haven't been this excited for a game release since Elden Ring
I've following you since Baldur's Gate 3 EA launched, cannot wait to see what you cook up in POE 2 bro. I'm going Legionare Mercenary, assuming you are too or ranger?
Gotts say merc was my fav!
@WolfheartFPS yes, Merc gang ftw! 😎🤘
I just need to know… can you reset them readily and easily? I can do a complicated skill tree but I’m not trying to plan out something like that at level one without mistakes. The inability to fully reset at will is literally the ONLY thing that kept me from playing POE.
For a little bit of gold yea
@@WolfheartFPS I'm sold! I officially can't wait for it to come out now! Thanks as always!
thanks for you video. i am looking forward to giving this game a try on 12/6. Always appreciate hearing your opinion on new games... even as a "Casual" ARPG player LOL...
hype for this be buildin up. good to hear you enjoyed your time with it
Thanks for watching!
my only concern is: can i play poe2 during daytime? because poe1 ( and a lot of other arpg) is so dark / missing a gamma/ brightness setting that it's impossible to see anything if you can not blackout your room during the day... at least for me
After hearing this, never been happier I saved myself $40 not buying the D4 expansion and will HAPPILY give the $40 to GGG.
Hey Wolf, hope to see more videos on PoE 2 in the future if time allows it! I think it’ll get some good growth for the channel in the first couple months as well.
Been waiting for this video.
Thanks for watching as always!!
thx for showing - thinking about getting a small Early access package now / does it have so much loot as DIablo 4? cant play diablo 4 anymore because handling all that loot is just too much stress..
Sorry to inform you but it does have a lot of loot
21:00 Haha, my man is excited! 👍
I miss when games didnt treat you in an infantile manner.
This game looks so cool! Thank you for another amazing video Wolf! ❤
Thanks as always Gwen!
I love the 2 weapon slots!
My favorite character archetype, which I have only done in Skyrim, is a ranged mage + melee fighter! :)
Although.. seeing as strength and intelligence are totally opposed on the passive tree.. not sure I will be able to do it either ^_^
Yeah, I like the two weapon sets a lot, so it will potentialy keep your char fresh and new.
Diablo but better in every single way is a perfectly fine description.
You sat next to Legendary Drops. Kinda jealous. That dude seems super chill.
Thanks so much for the great video about this! You know I was wondering, and you delivered! Now I have to decide if I am going to spend $ or not! It's going to be hard NOT to join EA, that's for sure :) Thanks Wolf.
That's debatable. The bloated skill tree isn't fun or engaging, especially when half the nodes just add a small bonus to 1 stat.
