I love the beach house in Something's Gotta Give with Diane Keaton on the East Coast. The other is the house in California in It's Complicated with Meryl Streep; especially kitchen.
I can name some movies and would be more, but arent like my home. I just liked, in watching (plus the movies themselves) 😉 Something's Gotta Give. It's Complicated. I like your bed stands and the watering pitcher also! ❤ That corner bar is too small for a bar 😂
It's not a TV show or a movie that's my style inspiration, but the Lone Fox You Tube channel. I always make mental notes when I watch his content, and frequently check his online store for more inspiration.
I don't really watch TV anymore, but in the old fashioned black & white movies, the heroine always lived in a mansion by the sea with flowing white curtains and a beautiful four-poster bed. In a bedroom the size of my house!
The film, Its Complicated, has one of the loveliest, cozy, casual homes that I love. Everything from the European style kitchen, to comfy furniture, and the gardens are just dreamy!
Enjoyed video very much. The older I get the more I appreciate sitcoms from the 70's, 80's, 90's. Mary Tyler Moore represented the single independent career woman. Being a New Yorker I loved the Jefferson's deluxe apartment in the sky. The Cosby Brooklyn brownstone was warm and homey. Lets not forget the Golden Girls in Miami.
Suzanne, my style is traditional with coastal grandmother mix. I agreed with two other subs above. TY😊 ( btw, my daughter bought the book/ end table about a year ago. She , too, loves it! 😊
Home alone, father of the bride, something's gotta give are my top 3. If I'm watching a movie and I love the house that's all I can think about while watching it. I usually have to watch it 2-3 times to follow the plot instead of the house.
Something's Gotta Give, both Diane Keaton's House on the beach and Jack Nicholson's bachelor pad townhouse in the city. Also, The Holiday, Cameron Diaz's California spacious modern mansion, and even Kate Winslet's quaint English cottage. All of them big or small, light and airy, or dark and moody, they all "looked" very personalized, cozy and lived in, not just magazine ready and staged.
I would like a ranch house in a ranch setting. Lots of windows and large living room and kitchen in light tones and beams. Loved all of your top tens especially the white lamp.
I love the double staircase entry in the Austrian home in The Sound of Music. So grand and luxurious! That's much more traditional than my leaings toward contemporary, but I can appreciate grand gorgeous style even if not my personal taste.
I giggled when you mentioned Frazier I agree him nor Nyles would set foot in Target. I think maybe Arhaus or Restoration Hardware...lol I love watching Frazier reruns!! My style is more like luxury boutique hotel vibe the NYC apartment Carrie and Big had together after they finally got married!😊
I almost never watch television and the few things I have watched in recent years, like Ted Lasso, didn’t necessarily have interiors I loved/would want in my home. 😀 So I am sure there have been many but I have just forgotten them. I have always wanted to build my own home and as I am getting older I feel like I may be running out of time. I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for about 25 years and I love it here, but it is so expensive that I don’t think my custom home dream will happen here so I have to decide if I want to move back to the rural south and build my home on property I own there. If I do, the house I am planning will be a southern style farmhouse, one story, with wide wrap around front porch, with rocking chairs and swings, ceiling painted haint blue, of course, but the house will be white. The back side of the wrap around porch will be screened in and possibly have a white painted tin roof because I loved sitting in rocking chairs with my grandmother listening to the rain fall on her tin roof. Inside, the rooms will be arranged around a wide central hallway, wide enough for a center table to hold a pretty flower arrangement from my garden, with wide plank, dark stained, wood floors. Tall ceilings, probably bead board. To one side of the front door will be the living room and on the other side of the hall will be the second bedroom and guest bath. But, in reality the second bedroom will be a large craft, office, game room for me with lots of closet space to store everything away nicely for my hobbies. There will be both a walk in pantry and a walk in butler’s pantry between the large kitchen and a small dining room. The master bedroom, and at this point in my life I am only planning for two bedrooms, will have a large bath with a spacious walk in shower and a wide bench to make growing old in this home very easy, large closet with built in storage, and the laundry will be between the bathroom and master closet. Lots of other dedicated storage space so I finally have room for Christmas and other decor. I could go on but will spare you. Bottom line is a mix that falls between Southern farmhouse and traditional a little elegant (more on the British West Indies look than fancy) which will fit in with the Deep South, farm but near coastal, locale, but on the antique side for case goods, with comfort, especially comfortable, cushy sofas, storage, and planning for old age, also being prioritized. The doorways, kitchen, etc all large enough to move around easily in a wheelchair or scooter, and ramps on the side of both the front and back porch to allow easy entry. Finally, there will be a utility room between the kitchen and garage with more storage including a second dedicated litter box space, storage for pet supplies, the “garage “ freezer for putting up all the veggies from my garden , coat closet, cleaning closet, etc. there will be working shutters on the exterior of every window because hurricanes are a fact of life, and then I dream of my gardens, both pleasure, food, cutting, and an orchard. Finally, I would like a swimming pool and patio. 😀. You can see where this isn’t going to happen in the expensive Seattle area. 😀
I’m a fan of the “Sex in the City” series (the closet! And beautiful clothes and shoes!) and the following series too and love the homes that the character Carrie Bradshaw lives. Also, in “Succession “, the patriarch lives in a gorgeous, stately, traditional home. Both of these series had terrific settings that were well thought out for each character.
Great job Suzanne, as usual every Saturday.I love HGTV!! Can’t think of the giveaway home/cash/car..love how the Interior Designer style the homes each year. Love me some Target finds, have a blessed day on purpose
Fun video Suzanne! You do such a wonderful job researching, organizing and editing your videos in a way that is easy for us to view. I have the Target radio in the sage green from last year and like it. You have me stumped with your show question but anytime there is a movie with a coastal theme or also set in New York City I am in. Thanks so much for all your fun videos and have a great weekend!

Love this!
I am interested in the Potterybarn Americana throw. This throw is very expensive. Would you be able to find some dupes for this? Thank you!
I will try!

Hi Lori! I know a Lori Smith from the radio industry…are you THAT Lori?
Home alone, father of the bride, something's gotta give
are my top 3. If I'm watching a movie and I love the house that's all I can think about while watching it. I usually have to watch it 2-3 times to follow the plot instead of the house.
That’s funny! I’ve done the same!
Movie sets - Any one of Nancy Meyers. She is a design genius.
Absolutely!!👍🏻
Something’s Gotta Give. Love that house and location! Thank you for this video. I really enjoy watching what you share. 😊
Yes the kitchen set the trend for our kitchen today!

Mr & Mrs Smith 2006 Brad and Anjolina. The house and setting is everything
Why haven’t I watched that yet…will do though!

Thank u! I love the lamp! I wish I needed one!
Olivia Pope's living room. Casual luxury
That white fluffy couch was giving.
Checked the living room out…very nice…comfy lighting, too.

Hi there! Yes, I’m with you…that’s a great approach…appreciate a variety of styles, but have your unique approach to your own home.
This was such a GOOD video!! I have very traditional taste but can't think of a movie where I am in awe of the decor 🤔. I'll give it more thought....
Thank u for the kind words!
I absolutely love Zeek and Camille's house from Parenthood.
Especially that backyard!!! One of the best uses of café lights I’ve seen!

Frazier is a favorite show of mine…still watching the new series…in early episodes…cool new apartment…
