2 pounds lean ground beef
2 cups water
8 oz. tomato sauce
6 oz. tomato paste
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup beef broth
1 t. worcestershire sauce
2 T. chili powder
1 T. cumin
1 T. garlic powder
1T. onion powder opt.
1 t. Salt
1 t. oregano
1 T. Brown sugar
1 med. onion chopped
opt.
freeze in Quart freezer bags
pressure can chili
pints 10 pounds of pressure or your altitude 75 minutes
quarts 10 pounds pressure or your altitude pressure 90 minutes

We drive through Pocahontas several times a year back and forth to our hometown in Texas. We actually stayed overnight at the hotel there in April. We stopped once at the Pocahontas Posy patch, just because I had bugged my husband so much, I loved the name🙂 At some point I would like to up into the downtown area 👍

I've never made the hot dog chili but took leftover regular chili and put it over hot dogs on a bun, with cheese and onions. It looks yummy. I love your recipes 💕

Have to add a yippee! I made this tonight for supper to serve over jalapeño and cheese sausages, and IT WORKED! Hubs was eating it and said, "This is good!" And he even liked that it was served on a slice of bread! Thanks, Miss Lori❤❤❣️

Looks awesome, you can also use a box grater for the onions so they are small shreds.
That's exactly how I make chili but I don't put onions in it because the kids are not fans of them. It was perfect timing with Memorial Day cookouts next weekend. You can make 2 batches one for adults and one for the kids. This is the best chili for hot dogs and burgers I've ever tasted. Ms. Lori and Mr. Brown we love you both ❤🤍💙 🙏God bless you 🙏

Definitely agree with you about cooking the burger that way. My mom always cooked hers that way for her Spaghetti as well . She was a lunchroom lady also. I often wondered if they made it that way in the lunch room . This was many years ago and everything was made from scratch.
Oh yes, homemade, back in the good old days ('75-'80).. We loved our lunch lady (her name was Mrs Brown too).
We cooked our ground beef in water too it helps with cooking out the grease

When i was a child my stepdad made homemade chili. Everyone loved it and i never ask about the recipe. I remember very distinctly having to drain the grease off with a strainer before putting on my bun. Now your recipe can give me a reference on how to make his. Thank you. I love you recipe. Let me share mine with you. It's called a whoop de do dog. Here in South Central Alabama a drag strip used to make these and they were closed down and the recipe got lost. It was a Polish sausage not the skinny ones but the big fat ones and it had Polish sausage, sauerkraut, coleslaw, chilli, jalapeno peppers, shredded cheddar cheese, this was served at a drag strip for race cars and nobody ever replicated it but it was the biggest seller of anything at the drag strip for drag racing cars. It was so big and thick that you had to actually eat it with a fork and a knife LOL

Thanks for the recipe. My better half prefers sliced bread with hotdogs always. I like toasted fresh hotdog buns, so we usually have bread. As he says I only eat one. This looks delicious. We rarely have chili dogs because I don’t want to heat the house up. Good to know it can be canned or frozen.

Oh Ms Lori ,Your hotdog chili looks so good.I really really want to make it and freeze it in servings. I love chili on my dogs but I always feel like it's so unhealthy. I like the fact that you know what's in it and it's so good!!!!! I had family before they passed and thought my great grandma lived for a time in Mt View but I remember it being Missouri. Missouri is where I'm from before I moved to Oklahoma.Happy Summer to you Mr Brown and your family. I always feel a sense of peace when I watch and hear youall talk. I've been making hot dog chili ever since I got married in 1964. My husband has passed away but I still keep my son and two sons-in-law supplied with chili. Three pounds of ground chuck for each batch with some water added and constantly working the meat so the end result is super fine. Freeze containers and deliver to make my "boys" happy. Each batch is tweeked to that particular boys taste. More chili powder for one, more hot pepper for another, etc.
