Based on the first image we see, the first tip should be to unequip a shield if you're using a spear and staff. Since the shield is only used with 1h swords, it offers no benefit if not using one. It will still show up on your character, but you're gaining none of the benefits just using up encumbrance.
@@michaelmano7261 If you don't have a 1H equipped, when you block you block with whatever your primary weapons is, not the shield. So you don't gain any of the blocking benefits from the shield. Early game, encumbrance can be an issue if you're farming a lot of mats. Getting rid of the shield saves some weight.
@@Seluecus1 Actually true. If you block and are not using a 1H weapon, you'll block with the weapon NOT the shield. So any blocking bonuses from the shield itself are useless. I think if it is socketed, you get the bonus from the gem though. Not 100% sure on that however.
1. Any monster can give you 10 azoth, after level 50 it's 15 per yes. It's mostly random, Lost monsters ( undead ) seem to have a higher chance of azoth drops. 2. You can switch factions without the 120d cooldown if you pay Azoth. 3. You can craft Orichalcum tools for lvl 52 at the lowest.
Something to add to this. The larger the house, the more storage chests can be added to it. Also the cooldown for fast traveling to a house is also reduced.
Another tip: KEEP ALL YOUR CARNELIANS. These gems are a MUST have for EVERY SINGLE PERSON that wants to play a tank, for those who don't know. They basically gem it into their weapon (sword and shield, or rapier maybe if youre weird) because they give a 100-300(?)% threat boost. These gems are mandatory, and im genuinely betting these are going to be hard as fuck to get your hands on early game. If you get one, KEEP IT until you get a GOOD offer. For real, the first week i won't be selling carn's for any less than 800 for lowest tier. They are such a mandatory have for every group (tank), and to get into and have a smooth run for Amrine i definitely recommend holding onto your Carnelians.
@@redforest3740 Carnelians are definitely number one, as they ill retain their value probably more than most other gems. I also believe Emeralds were changed so they not only offer a damage boost under 30%, healers should be able to use them to heal for more on lower targets if they went through with that change. Other than that, any physical damage reduction gems or luck gems. Those are your best bets for practical use gems.

I can confirm you can in fact at the tutorial do the first walkthru to the point of the 4 techniques, talk to the captain, get shield and food, equip shield and use food and then Skip to New World and retain the shield. EDIT: 5waze was technically correct in that I wrote something that might have been covered by the NDA. That said, the above statement was true during the closed beta, which was not under NDA, and I doubt it will be changed for launch. I think the fact that several dozen people have mentioned the above statement in their videos as tips is evidence enough since all those videos are still up. I was tired when I wrote the original, though that's no excuse, and I want to thanks 5waze for pointing out my error. Corrected now.
Top right when your in your storage shed you can see storage location, you would drop down to the town you want to access the I believe it's Shift+Left Click and it should prompt for the fee to transfer it. I only did it once and can't remember if there is another step to it or not.

In the beta I had a lot of stuff in my Windsward storage and then another faction took it and I was unable to transfer items from it to Monarch anymore without physically going there to get the items.

How confident are we on Shiels (Tip 14) So when I equip a shield that gives me increased drop rarity, it’s actually not doing anything at all unless I’m actively use it when killing an enemy?
Very confident, I do hope this gets changed because it seems pointless to me as well. I have tested it in the closed beta but will be testing it out again in open beta to maybe hope they changed this.

If your talking about the proximity chat with your voice I believe default was V. I usually used the chat windows because voice was really short range.

Is it bad I already had and have a trade empire plan set up already lol, making money in the begining of the game will be insane as everything will be selling so expensive so easy for the first few weeks! So there's my tip. Trade trade trade
@@lazoo44 raw resources, iron will be big. Or you can farm about a thousand hemp in about 30 mins and turn it into linen. Potion crafting will be huge as everyone needs potions constantly. Look at some resource maps and figure out resource runs around windward and everfall. Also, wyrmwood and starmetal will sell huge so get your mining and woodcutting to 100 asap. Don't get sucked into blacksmithing. Everyone will be doing so. You want to be the guy supplying everyone else. Not buying from everyone.

@@danielthomas4533 I am running an I7-8700 16 gig ram and a GTX 1060 6GB and have played the beta and multiple Alphas without issue. It can get a bit crazy in the big wars but I also was playing at higher settings that if I toned down would of helped. Don't think you need $4k to upgrade, just upgrade the items that need it instead of trying to build a brand new top of the line system.
Made a pc bought most pieces from Amazon some from microcenter with a Asus 2080 graphics card, amd Ryzen 5 5600x. Corsair 32gb ram 4400 Asus ROG strix mobo, Corsair platinum psu for $1600. Graphics card had to show up for raffle at microcenter to buy at msrp
so much of this guide could be changed by launch tbh or has already changed for beta since they mentioned balancing. the costs of crafting items could be different storage value and azoth could be higher or lower. Take pre launch guides with a pinch of salt.

well, if you have a socket in it. you get that bonus. however its not worth the weight class change
not true, you should still be getting the passive bonuses of the shield while it's equipped. It's considered armor, not a weapon.

In regards to the azoth drops, I believe it's the ones that are surrounded by a blue glow that will drop azoth.

Another tip, buy the most expensive house at the start of the game because you get a 50% discount for your first house! So you better use that wisely!
Taxes are also higher though, and the number of trophies remain the same. Best thing to do: Buy the house you want! :)

How do you do tip #13: transfer items between settlements. I could never figure it out in the beta

Also worth mentioning, you can only withdraw from a remote town. You can not deposit! It also gets expensive (based on weight).

the "add blue pages to journal" option wasn't in closed beta. That's a new feature they added prior to this weekends open beta.
