I can’t express adequately how wonderful this trip to flea market was!! Then watching you place these treasures around your home. I love it all. My style has become more minimal… not because U done love a bounty of vintage loveliness, but because I’m getting toooooo old to keep it all dusted. It was a joy to me to watch you do all the finding and placing of your beautiful things!
Oh.My.Goodness! That stunning Belgian quilt! I loved all of your treasures! My only complaint is that I wanted to see more. (And I totally relate to enjoying being alone.) Thanks for sharing! Blessings!❤
Angela, I love your eye for beauty in "old" things. I like the word "old" rather than "antique." Old speaks to me of a glorious past. You have a beautiful gift of creativity. I loved everything you purchased and the beautiful treasures your Mom has given you. You are a treasure.❤
Thank you for the flea market adventure. I love all your treasures especially the quilt and the beautiful books. You are preserving history for generations to come. I love that you are so true to the person that you are...You are amazing 🙋♀️👍
I really don't even try to look anymore when I am with someone else shopping /just enjoy the company- I way prefer to be alone and look at what I want:))))
I agree. I prefer to shop alone unless I have a partner that likes to split up but check back in with each other before we get to far ahead of one another. I have one friend that likes to shop this way. Which is nice that way you have someone to drive with, have lunch with and to be honest with you when you fine that one item you need to be told to put back!
What great finds. I love your box collection and I believe some are for gloves. That must have been so fun to go to! Hope you finds some lamp shades soon! Beautiful lamps too! Thanks for sharing!!
I recently was gifted a bundle of linens made by my 4x great aunt and I absolutely agree on old textiles. It is so amazing to hold something somebody spent hours sewing and embellishing by hand. While I sew, I do not have the patience to make hand spun lace to put into pillowcovers like she did. I suppose in a time before tv for a woman who chose not to get married there was lots of down time. I have pictures of her standing with her sisters and my 3x great grandfather. Him in a suit and the ladies in their 1800s day dresses. So neat to have a piece of history in my house. Anyway, beautiful things as always.
How wonderful! I have many handmade doilies of all sizes and patterns made by great aunts and quilts from great - grandmas, grandmas, and aunts. I treasure all of them and have always loved handmade items. I have a passion for old things especially, family heirlooms. I’m enjoying this community.
@@katharinaboyer3275 that's wonderful! I have a dolly my great grandmother made my grandmother and she's the most darling thing. My great great grandmother died when I was 13 and I always thought it was so neat going to the reunions at her house to hear all the family stories. There's a national park near her childhood home that is now a prairie, but once had been a man made waterway so she remembered the steam ships carrying cargo going through. Amazing how much changes in a short span of time. I ended up with a lot of family heirlooms because many of my cousins are just uninterested in the family history. I personally love the idea of a lovingly made and treasured item continuing to be useful and the gesture remembered.
I am new to your site and I've in love with this style. I too am not a minimalist either. I fell in love with the flea markets in France namely Paris on a trip a couple of years ago. They're treasures are different that our treasures for sure. And London, oh London! Lots of lovlies there, too. Mary
That bodice is lovely! I used to work with the costume mistress at my kids ballet company. My favorite part was embellishing platter tutu's and bodices with Swarovski crystals.
What an unbelievable haul. ❤️Watched twice and will watch again…and again….and again….we simply have to antique shop together in this lifetime. Somehow, somewhere!!
You are so smart, Angela! You went to the early and late Elkhorn flea markets… I went to the scorching hot one in July! Next year, I’m going to do what you do! I am completely in love with vintage textiles as well; I inherited many from my grandparents and keep expanding my collection. Birds and birdhouses have been a passion of mine for years as well. And hats and costumes? Don’t get me started! I would buy vintage hats at antique stores when I was in high school AND I WORE THEM! (I was that quirky girl who wore vintage clothes!) I still have a collection of hats and costume pieces, though I don’t wear them so much anymore. 😉
Like most who follow this channel, I too love thrifting for wonderful vintage treasures. I watch, get great ideas, and then pare down, down, down..... My mind gets tired with all the excess 😉 Am I the only one who feels this way? 🤔 Ah but Angela, you certainly do give great inspirational ideas! 🤗
Hi Angela..I love watching you on your trips to thrift and hunt beautiful bargains..I feel like I am there with you..you buy so many interesting objects..and your book collection is amazing..I think I am going to have to start collecting some old gems..I have modern art books..decorating books fashion books..but old ones and a certain charm for sure..Louise
Lucky lady on your finds...here in California swap meet, thrift store etc prices are so high...we have the Rose Bowl...antique, vintage, thrift items are very high also....GREAT FINDS everything looks great I've followed several suggetions on your bedroom decore and I LOVE IT....byeeeeeee for now God bless
Great Finds! I have been watching Stephanie at Chateau Diaries. Everytime I see her beautiful copper bathtub I think about you and wish you could have one also.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻great finds really! Everything beautiful 🤩🤩, but that Belgian quilt 😍😍😍 and the old jewelry boxes 🤩🤩🤩🤩 great video indeed!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 heart ❤️ warming to watch, thank you 😊
I absolutely LOVE your videos like this. I was sooo sad when it came to an end!! I could gaze at your home and your findings all day!! Thanks for always sharing with us!!
Your new treasures are feasts for the eyes! Your home is beautiful! How wonderful that your mother also assists you in those gorgeous pillow covers! Thank you for sharing! I just joined your Old World group also! Can’t wait to relax and read your magazines. (I used to live in WI and Door County was my favorite vacation spot). Shari
Great finds - I can't wait for travel to open back up more as I would love to see you and Shaye take a girls trip to Paris with the sole purpose of eating well and thrifting.
Great finds. I love textiles too. If only I had your gift of display! The tole lamps are fabulous. I would use Edison bulb or other decorative bulb until you find vintage shades.
Isn't it lovely there are those of us who appreciate these kinds of finds?! Thank you for sharing, so beautiful. I think my faves are; quilt, Joan of Arc, pile of linens. My first thought of that costume was a circus outfit.
I've just found you on TH-cam and Instagram and I'm wondering where I've been! My goodness...LOVE all of your content. Binge-watching!!! More videos like this one, please!!!! Dream trip = come shopping with you in Paris when I retire from education!
I can't believe Wisconsin has so many cool thrift stores and flea markets! Thrift stores in Chicago are big boxes of used clothes and electronics and the closest flea market sells cheap plastic housewares and giant bags of tube socks, not vintage quilts from Belgium. Ironically, you have to travel out of the city to find the treasures.
That quilt is gorgeous! What wonderful treasures from your mom-so thoughtful! I love the bird feather wreaths and they look perfect on the doors. The German books are so pretty. The cherub clock, the boxes, the textiles,...I love it all! What fun at the flea market. I love going to Antique malls by myself. It's great mental health time and feeds my soul. TFS!
Oh Angela, you are the Queen of finding the most BEAUTIFUL Vintage Treasures!! 💖💖💖💖. Those Quilts are STUNNING!!!! The brass pieces add so much warmth! I started collecting a few pieces as well. You are so talented on seeing the beauty and creating a Home with History! 💖💖💖💖
Yea! Yea! A new video from you! And it's a thrifting one! I know you have so much going on but I look forward to your videos! You and your videos are so inspiring, they always get my creative juices flowing! Thank you!
Oh my goodness such treasures! The bustierre (spelling?) is fabulous. I don’t comment and “like” as much as I want to because I watch my You Tube videos on my TV while I take my lunch break from work. It is such a treat and just makes my day when it’s a new Angela video day! You made my day I had to miss the flower arranging workshop because it was a football day, and we take that VERY seriously in Alabama and attend all home games (Roll Tide!) I will catch up with the recorded version. I loved this video so much that I had to pull it up on my iPad and comment. Keep the videos coming! 💕 God bless👍
OMGosh, I just saw your You Tube up here for the first time and subscribed! If you find a shade that has a shape you like, then it doesn't take much to remove the fabric and recover. I also saw a really pretty little shade that had been draped with an old fancy lady's handkerchief, and you can find those fairly easily. Amen!

Oh thank you!
Love love this video! Such an inspiration for some additional decorating I have been needing to do with my antiques and fabrics! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️🌸
You are living a dream! Good for you.
I love Elkhorn Wisconsin. When we lived in Illinois we use to go to the fair every summer. It's nice to see it, brings back many memories.
😊
Same w/books. Liked those yellow lamps
If you find a shade that has a shape you like, then it doesn't take much to remove the fabric and recover. The quilt is beautiful!
Gorgeous, gorgeous. I cherish vintage textiles. I have some turn of the (20th) century textiles that I would love to display on top of my armoire but am afraid they may disintegrate further. I will keep shopping for ones that will survive the placement. Beautiful video. Thank you.

The books were definitely a score!
