the same exact thing happened to me with the act, i got a 26 and my school sent it to a ton of UCs that i’m looking to apply to. i am not happy with that score and i’m wondering how it will affect my application, do you think it harmed your college decisions at all?? congrats on uci btw!!!
@@closmasmas9080 it went great actually! i got into uci, uc santa cruz and ucsb (where i go now) and i was waitlisted at ucsd. i don’t think my act score affected anything. i ended up getting a 1390 on the sat and a 23/24 on the essay. hope this helps, good luck with everything!!
Nymul_YT there are SAT Prep books. I’m currently in an SAT Prep class, and we use the Kaplan SAT Prep book. It’s been helping me significantly. You can also practice on Kahn Academy and it is really helpful. There are full practice tests, composed of the SAT Subjects, and it’s really helpful. Hope this helps
If you don't mind me asking, what score did you get on the first and second SAT test. I just want to see the progress you made from where you started till you got a 1430 because I want to score in the 1400's but my score is lower than that.
If it helps my score wasnt as high as 1400 but i got accepted to irvine because of my grades, partially my scores, and how involved i was in my community, clubs, and programs outside of school, although scores are a major component into being accepted they want diversity by getting students that will make a change to their campus as well as students that are willing to challenge themselves to more rigorous courses
Congrats on heading to UC Irvine. What they don't tell you is that one out of every three freshman that attends UCI will flunk out and not graduate. The grading only gets harder in a college full of scholars that were all straight a students in high school.
So wait you had all As and a 1430 SAT and still didn’t get into UCSD or UCSB? How? 4 students at my school last year were accepted to UCSD, and 6 were accepted to UCSB, and my school is definitely nowhere near the best in the country, in fact it’s probably in the lower half of best to worst ranking. So I don’t get it, it’s gotta be rigged. 1 student was accepted at UCLA, UC Davis, Cal Poly Slo, and Berkley! Another student was accepted to Berkley and UC Davis. You should’ve applied to UC Davis! They have almost a 10% higher acceptance rate than UCSB and UCSD and it is not as hard to get into! But yeah the bad luck snake bit you. PS: Are you trying to recreate Katy Perry - “Rise” single cover in your profile pic? You did an amazing job!
I agree!!! Very odd!! I'm a junior and I have about a 1440 SAT and ACT of 29 and a 4.17 GPA (thus far I still have 3 more AP classes bc I'm on block shed) and this vid hella freaked me out bc I'm like shiiiiittttt I have like the sameish stats and I rlly want to go to a UC. My extra curriculars r pretty good but still I was freaked. Then I talked to some ppl who had like 4.1s and 14000s and got in so I'm like????? hate this
the motivation at the end was great it's so easy to doubt ourselves and dwell on the past!!

U got a 4.0 but u didn't get in to any of the UC's I'm doomed. I have a 3.4
