    Swole Father,
    Who art in heaven,
    Vascular be thine veins.
    Thy gainz come,
    Thy sets be done,
    Overhead as it is on chest.
    Give us this day our daily macros,
    And forgive our cheat days,
    As we forgive those who curl in the squat rack.
    Lead us not into half reps,
    But deliver us from Crossfit.

    As a professor of technology, I teach my students not just how and why things work, but also the physics behind it. This is specifically why I like Jeff's videos. The full explanation (including the physics) on specific exercises and how to hit certain muscle groups, allows me to be better educated in developing my workout. The bonus is that it motivates me to 'mix up' my routine, incorporating new exercises, which in turn keeps things from getting stale. Outstanding!

      He surly is a great teacher, one should have in mind though that this a discipline that one only can be mastered by experience, theoretical knowledge only takes You so far. But as You explain your self you develop this kind of experience alot faster that one normally would do thanks to his teachings... Personally, after just few hours of going trough athlene x videos basicly summed up everything i have learned in my 20 years of experience and more.. Its an understatement to say that listning to Jeff saves u shitload of time and work aswell as unnecussery injury that would been necessery to achive this knowledge through a fail and learn kind of approach that most of us did who didnt have internet and someone like Jeff the first ten years or so when beginning. I guess im basicly just sayin your instincts about Jeff is true.. But i suspects you view Jeff like Newtoninan revolutinon not yet to understand its actually Einstein thats infront, so prepare your mind for a even bigger blown to Come in The future, i shit u not.

    1. Don't skip rear delts
    2. Don't just do rear delts on shoulder day, add volume on back day
    3. Don't do behind the neck press
    4. Don't skip overhead pressing
    5. Don't forget to include light weight work
    6. Honour the eccentric part of rep
    7. Don't ignore bodyweight exercises for shoulders
    8. Don't skip his favourite shoulder exercise (some weird front raise up and across)
    9. Don't skip a shoulder workout because it's injured
    10. Don't do upright rows

      Try lateral raises in the cable machine.

    The wall stretch helps my shoulder popping .
    This video should be seen by all.

  • @AdrienBCaldwell
    @AdrienBCaldwell 7 ปีที่แล้ว +75

    I have a suggestion. The is about the exercise against the wall that Jeff demonstrates in this video ate 10:10
    I do this while in the shower and do this against the wall as I'm actually taking one. I lather up my arms with soap so they glide easily up against the shower wall. I actually lean back into the wall a bit but my entire weight of my body is supported by my forearms only. My back is only an inch or so from the wall as I perform this movement from forearms as low as I can place them until they are over my head as in Jeff's video.
    I didn't start off doing this exercise my way at first. Initially, I was in such severe pain (for months!) that I thought I was going to need some type of arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder joint. It was getting to the point that I couldn't even take off my T-shirts without experiencing a lot of sharp pain. But after doing this exercise in the video I noticed a tremendous reduction in pain. Then I tried it my way in the shower and now I'm almost completely pain free. It's now a party of my daily routine.
    Thanks a million, Jeff! You rock!

    I wish I watched this a month earlier. After watching and reading several different sources, I'm certain that I have developed a shoulder impingement. However, with the postural fixes and face pulls, along with a couple of relieving exercises I've found from some other physical therapist sources, I've made a significant recovery in just under a week. I couldn't even reach for a glass of water without feeling severe pain, but now I'm nearly pain free. I know I still have some work to do, and this video shows me exactly where I need to go. Thank you so much Jeff.

I have checked out many channels, and most have at least something to offer. But many also offer flat out bad advice. But your videos I get really really incredibly useful information from , and you clearly illustrate what to do, and also what NOT to do, and explain it all clearly. Then you get to business. Thank you for sharing your thorough knowledge, expertise and logic. It has helped me a lot in in the last few days with both upper body muscle imbalances, and lower lumbar disc/sciatica issues.

    Best info I've ever seen on body building "correctly." Wish I had gotten this info 30 years ago. I tore both rotator cuffs (behind the neck pulldowns and upright rows) and have chronic tendonitis in both elbows from construction work. My shoulders are better but I'm still having alot of problems with my elbows; I can't get anywhere near exhaustion on bicep work without my tendonitis causing me grief. I'd love to see a video on elbow tendonitis, please. I know I can't be the only one with this problem.

    Hello Jeff!! I'm a 15 year old guy that recently started working out at a gym. My right pec has the shape of a square, which looks really good! But my left pec "cuts" of to the left, a bit like your left pec except mine is waaay worse:( I remember you mentioned that your muscle insertion is that way because your ribcage is asymmetrical. I dont know in what video. And I recently noticed that the left side of my ribcage sticks out further than my right. How can this be a cause of weird muscle insertions? The ribcage asymmetry is not that awful, but I certainly notice it. But the pec looks awful in my opinion:( I feel like I never will be able to build a nice body with my bad insertions:( It's a shame because both my brothers have perfect, fused pecs with a perfectly straight six-pack, which makes me even more depressed because it just shows that my family have the "bodybuilding genetics" but I hot awful ones.... Please help me. I can send pictures of the pecs!!
    THANKS!

      Joshua Ashagre you're still young man just keep working your chest and it'll fill out over time and it'll be less noticeable. Also just be the best you can be. I've seen body builders with literally one single pec muscle and they looked great and didn't give a fuck about it and it never slowed them down. We're all different man!

      @grimmteller2514 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Joshua Ashagre, chill dude, you're still young and everything will fill out by the time you're 20. When I was your age I had a similar thing from playing tennis, my right pec was more developed and in a better shape than my left. The type of sports you play have an impact on how your body's muscles form. Maybe that helps?

    • @joshashagre1635
      @joshashagre1635 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, both of you! I think that its just genetics that decides what your muscle Insertions eill be like. But the sports that one do can of course have an impact on your muscles wich can cause muscle imbalances. Im not really worried about muscle imbalances. It's really only the asymmetrical muscle insertions I'm worried about because it looks awful in my opinion

    Jeff, or anyone else, I'm a 14 year old male and I have about 20%-30% fat. I really like your youtube videos because of how help full they are. So, I am thinking about getting the Athlean-x training program. I can do most exercises correctly, but I can't do a single push up or pull up. I have access to a pair of dumbells, a kettle bell and a skipping rope. Should I buy the program or not? It would be really help full if anyone replied!

    • @xXxDday12
      @xXxDday12 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Gav hey bro, since you're 14 it's hard to really say what you should and shouldn't do since you aren't fully developed yet. However if you are 20-30% body fat and you can't do a single push up, it's normal. That 10% is a big range difference though. Try finding a workout plan that works with what you have. Bodyweight exercises sound perfect for you right now. For example, push ups are perfect for chest, shoulders and triceps, because it has multiple variations. Try the standard push up about shoulder width apart bending your elbows about 90 degrees. If you can only do 1, then put your knees on the ground for an assisted push up, but not right underneath you. Aim for about 10- 15 each set and do 2-3 sets since you're just starting. Pull ups are a whole other ball game. I wasn't able to do a single one no matter my fitness until I was about 15-16. If you really want to though, try negatives at first. If you have something to hold yourself off the ground with your hands shoulder width apart, jump up into the upright position with your chin above the bar, and then try and resist gravity and lower your body as slow as you can. Do it until it burns so you don't over do it. I'd say do 2 sets. Eventually you'll be able to do a pull up. Keep at it buddy, and I believe in you. I was always really skinny when I was younger, and I was what they call a hardgainer until I finished puberty. I just couldn't gain weight or muscle easily. But I did it, so you can too. If you have anymore questions, feel free to reply or pm me. Have fun with the gains :)
