    I usually use 22+- clicks comandante for pour overs. Is that what is considered as medium fine for you or should I try going even finer? I considered the 12-20 clicks as syphon grind(or also tricolate). Its just kinda weird how 300 microns is the grind size and comandante c40s were said to be 30 microns per click.

    For the folks that have made clear on grind size: from past Vincent videos (single pour) I decided to adjust my grinds so that the final cone is not too pasty or chunky. Just in a balanced, smooth texture. This led me to adjust the range in my grinder and for me it's a medium fine (barely entering into the fine region)

    Is there any downside to buying the 03 Switch and then replacing the dripper with the standard glass 02 one? Would it be a bit too big for single cup brewing? Since I think you said that the 02 dripper that comes with the Switch is smaller than the standard one, right? Asking mostly because the 02 Switch is out of stock where I live, but the 03 Switch isn't. Also great videos :)

    • @TALESCOFFEE
      @TALESCOFFEE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Honestly nope, if you wanna brew a larger batch you definitely can. The switch allows you to pour faster and more aggressively to lift. On the 03 you can use a normal kettle and give up the goose just cause you can get a higher speed and force to lift. This helps with the drain time actually ^^

    Just got to trying out the stall the fall method today. Got some good results but i know i can get more out of it if i play a bit more with grind size and temperature.
    Thank you for adding the microns size, it is so hard to gauge the grind size when you don't have a lot of experience. Genuinely appreciate your guys work. :) I feel like a kid on christmas morning with too many presents to handle with all the techniques and different recipes to try out. Sadly, my body can handle only so much caffeine in a day :P
    In the stall the fall video as well as this one your filter paper extends past the glass rim by a fair bit. Do i just push down my filter too far down when i rinse it or are you using bigger filters? I am using the method in your masterclass video for setting the filter and mine barely reaches over the top.

    • @TALESCOFFEE
      @TALESCOFFEE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the standard 02 size filters. I think the switch that I have is like actually between a 02 and a 01 size ahaha. Mine feels just a bit smaller then a 02 .. idk why 😂 it’s the same filter set method as the masterclass one.

      I am super glad you’re finding success with the stall the fall. If anything it’s more about stirring and understanding when and how saturated your grinds are with that method! :3

      Glad the microns helped, I remembered your comment so I added it in there for you ✌🏼

    I just ordered a Hario V60 glass 03 to use in my switch. The dripper that came with my switch was a 02 I’m only able to hold 260g but the 03 should allow 300g easily. Great videos btw! Is there a taste difference btwn reg beans verses organic???☕️

    • @TALESCOFFEE
      @TALESCOFFEE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The glass drippers should definitely have the seal for it. That's good. I think the 02 can hold 300? It's pretty tight but .. yeah ahaha for the stall the fall you're probably safer with the 03 to hold 300!
      Thank you for your support!!
      As for flavour profiles. Nope .. not that I noticed :P I mean it's great and all to be organic but a lot of producers struggle with the transition. I've heard of some producers losing as much as 80% yield for 3 years before they get back to their original amount just by switching TO Organic.

    I'm currently loving a modified Switch with Mugen dripper using the Stall the Fall technique. The main problem I have with Switch is that there is water outside the paper between the normal V60 grooves that do not come in contact with water, making the brew slightly diluted.
    The Mugen eliminates this issue by not having grooves. Plus plastic material has better heat retention, which is again especially useful for Stall the Fall technique when the water is pour in before the coffee.

    • @TALESCOFFEE
      @TALESCOFFEE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you really made this video saying it works just fine, without actually testing it??? For people still concerned, do not try the metal V60 or the Origami with the Switch: it doesn't work! And it has nothing to do with a bad sealing. It's a matter of the outside surface of the brewer not being flat due to ridges pattern (unlike the glass V60).

    • @TALESCOFFEE
      @TALESCOFFEE  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ok tbh the origami doesn’t work we just put it in the picture. The metal one works for me! I had a short on this too 🫠 but I also have one that doesn’t work I’m not sure one of mine works so it’s weird. Mostly it’s just the glass ones and the mugen. Oh also the plastic ones yeah.

  • @Grandier
    @Grandier 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    taking off the v60 dripper and replacing it with origami is so misleading, there is NO WAY it will work. the origami dripper has so many groves around it that it WILL NOT BE 100% SEALED to prevent the water leakage when using the immersion function; unlike the original glass dripper that came with it, or even other type of v60s for that matter, that has the proper circular shape to AT LEAST make some kind of seal to prevent the water leakage because how it fits.
