Carolina kitchen is over priced for mid quality in the hyattsville location. Even the drinks suck. The dc one is mid too. It's not the system, it's the people in the system.

If the cabbage has a little too much sugar, you can counter that with a little bit of vinegar. That’s just how I like my cabbage and greens. It’s how I grew up eating them. My grandmother used to make what she called chow-chow and put that on her greens. I think it’s some kind of pickled relish. I never ate that though.

Right! As a manager in a public/client service career in higher ed, I nearly screamed when I saw him balancing 2 heavy trays like that. The staff wasn't even overflowing with customers, but everyone was too preoccupied to notice and offer him more courteous help. I also noticed a lack of attentive eye contact and thank yous from a couple of people on the front line. The young lady who he spoke with behind the counter first was kind but everyone else was mid.

The Carolina Kitchens in the DMV are Hispanic owned, not black owned. I remember when they first opened and they were black owned, the food tastes a little bland now.

Carolina Kitchen is DEFINITELY good when you don’t feel like doing the work of cooking … The pork chops smothered with the jerk sauce is the way to go. With some mac & cheese & collards ❤
It depends on the location. I think the Hyattsville one is better. I haven’t been to the NE location in a minute, but we ate in and were served at the table by a waiter.

THIS WAS AN EXCELLENT LOCATION: i hated when they started allowing the homeless to COME IN the establish to ask for financial support. That location got me through some last minute moments and they were always accommodating. I was SHOCKED when I found out at the my hungry moment they were closed
Never been to this location but the one in Hyattsville 2x. First time was really good 2nd time it was not good. It was during the pandemic so maybe they had an off day. We had a super long wait outside in the 🥶.

Carolina is consistently good. I have to admit some locations are better than others. Folks saying otherwise probably like that nasty good from Oohhh's & Ahhh's 😅
He went at the right time because another shift would’ve moved him right along. That place is normally packed so all this talking in line wouldn’t fly. Depends on the location food wise, the Largo location wasn’t as good as the DC location which is the one I go to.
It's the staff for me, I used to work for Lance. He is a Character himself....but his managers used to steal credit card tips. The production is to much, welcome welcome stuff but the food is as decent as the chefs they hire. And they can be expensive on some things but food quality is ok.
Collard greens cut wide as the flag is funny as shyt 😂😂😂 Carolinas kitchen is good to me. The level of service depends on the location tho. Strong 4.5 out of 5 overall

One of my fav soul food spots. I love one in Brandywine now but nothing tops the one near Magic Johnson theater at the blvd.
