Blackstar hands down. And the thing is easily tweaked, the versatility is amazing. And the amp responds to picking dynamics. It really shines when reverb/delay are used as it's delivered in a room filly lush stereo sound 😎
The ID Core v3 is the first modeling amp I don’t feel like I need to use my audio engineering certificate to make sound right, it just does. Especially that super crunch. It could just have that and be a solid amp. Plate reverb and tape delay with a teeny tiny bit of roto sounds like every good album in the late 70s/early 80s.
Loved the review and comparison, so thanks for doing the video :) I'm fortunate enough to own the Marshall Code and the Blackstar ID:Core V3. For me, the Blackstar is a doddle if you want to easily dial in a quick tone and just noodle, as the options and dials are so intuitive. The Code does really well when you Bluetooth your phone into it, as the Android app for adjusting the pre-sets is super easy to use, and Marshall have done a great job of not neglecting it and ensuring it's tweaked and improved where it was needed.

Blackstar sounded the least toy-like and probably has the best features. Orange still sounded decent for its tiny speaker, Marshall did not impress me at all.
I have an original (V 1) Blackstar ID Core 40 Stereo amp I got for under $100 a few years ago and love the features it has. I've since modded it by adding switched speaker output jacks to make it more versatile as well as a powerful tiny amp it already was to begin with.. plugged into my surround system I get greater sound with added volume and depth of tone.. I only play at home for fun and the ultra modified cheap Chinese made Starcaster Strat I striped to bare body and neck, then rebuilt with many added and upgraded features, too many to mention here.. with a space themed custom paint job and renamed the 'Stellarcaster' to make it the complete rig for home play. The included factory features in the amp along with the rest of my setup you'd be hard pressed to improve on the tonal depth and variety I can access. and I still haven't added any pedals just yet.
Realizing that YT's audio is not a perfect replication of an amp's true sound and feel...I prefer the Crush. Blackstar held a close second but sounded less warm and natural. If I were solely going off this video, I'd say the Matshall was too thin and "breathy" and sounded distant even at similar volumes. Thanks for the demo.
Can’t add much to the discussion as I’ve just bought a Crush 20RT - which I use for blues and jazz. What I have found is by using a cheapish IR loading pedal with it, I can get a phenomenal acoustic guitar sound for when I let loose my inner folkie… currently playing with a D28 IR and an Ovation Celebrity IR - which gives me all the tones I could want - except for a fender twin-reverb, which I’ll try installing tomorrow! I decided that having all the modelling options in the amp would just get in the way of what I should be doing - which is playing good jazz and blues!
I feel Marshall is always best paired with separate pedals. The amps and cabs are lovely, but the effects are always boring In this lineup though, that's real tough between the Blackstar and Orange. The real mid range crunch on the Orange sounds gorgeous, and paired with well mixed bass, would make a good classic rock sound, but that Blackstar has some real deep sound to it which is perfection
Id core 10 v3 owner in od levels, can't go above 30% vol. Its way too loud for room practice which means. Volume for me is no problem coming from 10w amplifier.
Te Orange wins the clean, But as they got dirtier the Blackstar, imho started pulling ahead. It was the only usable lead tone. The Orange was just a mess on the lead, and the Code was thin and weak.
Marshall has a bit of an ice pick clean tone. Orange's overdrive is kinda muddy. I felt the blackstar overall has the best tones. I did like the Marshall's overdrive tone though. My pick, Blackstar!

Could it sound with the blackstar like the neural dsp? I want to know if with a new architect there are possibilities of approaching that metal sound, I do not expect it to be the same but if it is close and it is decent then it is worth it, apart you can use it as an interface and you can record with it.
@@AyushMehta8 something that i mean loud is not the volume dude, if you go ther for a bedroom it will be very loud volume but not “loud” (or maybe scream) for the gain

Black star sounded best overall but I am getting a Code 25 for the features like being able to play a backing track through Bluetooth, what phones have aux ports these days? The orange amp needs to be orange it just looks wrong in black
1 Orange, 2 Marshall, 3 Blackstar. The orange had a bigger sound as if played on a bigger cabinet. Marshall had good tone (I own 1 by the way) but tiny sound as if played on a small cheap bluetooth speaker. Blackstar had the same tiny sound and was damn too bright, lacking low frequency tones. On the Marshall I really like the Bluesbreaker amp!!!!
I own the 40w version, it takes boost pedals and overdrive pedals well. Well, I use the clean and crunch voices. I never use the od voices, so this could be why my pedals sound great.
Learn to use it. It takes pedals OK, but has no effects loop. Remember not to use default voices (which have onboard effects applied). Select manual mode, select a Clean and adjust the voice so effects other than those you want are deselected. Don\t double up with a pedal effect over the same applied integral effect.

The Orange Crush 20rt Sounds really good! It's really gives us that raw vintage type sound. Overall the Orange Crush 20rt is the best for me

Orange sounded least digitally manipulated to me, which I prefer. I like the Blackstar sounds too, Marshall is not to my taste at all.
When you were playing I found myself bobbing my head up and down without realizing it. Nice playing man!

well, i got one, its fine if you just doin with clean / lil bit crunch, but it doesnt work on the high gain, they cant go "Loud"

@@theblytonian3906 The fly3s are awesome little amps. Really good to take on the go, even for a quick practice session late at night.
The Blackstar was marginally better than the Orange clean. But the Orange clearly won the distorted sounds. It was not even close.
Marshall is expensive for me.
