But I added the missing keyboards that had gone away when they filtered out the guitar from the original ;)

Mike McCourt the roughest part for me was memorizing which Phrygian Scales it uses. And that damn walk down during the solo haha
When you break it down, it's in that "sorta-simple, but not easy" category - I've been playing this tune for damn near 30 years, and it's always a measure of my skills.

Unless the guitar is panned 100% to one side or you have the master tracks you can't just remove it.

+Ronny Tertnes How do they do that, to remove certain instruments, outside of accessing the original master tracks? There is probably a program, but I wouldn't know what to call it.
+Heki Kahni Don't really know but you couls use an equalizer to filter out the frequencies used by the lead guitar... Like some karaoke programs can be used to filter oiut the vokal frequencies but keep the backing track...

Patrick Verdi probably too late but if your band has two guitar players give one a synth pedal... it won’t sound exactly the same but it would sound badass

Is it just me, or is the bass a little too loud in the mix?
Perhaps it is just because you hear it without the guitar? the mix wasn't altered much I think...
Ronny Tertnes I thought of that, but still... You're probably right though. I'm still getting familiar with recording bass anyway. I've been recording guitar for a while, but I just got a bass a few months ago. I still can't get it to sit just right in the mix
In the original, the bass seems to be just as loud as the guitar.

Not a problem, 8 years old track created of a older track created form tracks created in 1977... Just don't use it, find others, I am sure there must be plenty even though many are just stolen copies of mine... ;)
