Tua being made to play out the fifth year option is, in my opinion, the best thing for this team.
The people who keep saying that Tua is the best quarterback for this system are probably correct. However, so far the only thing this system has brought us is two embarrassing late season collapses.
Now what they are in a position to do is get rid of everyone, the GM, the coach, and then, if the next guy chooses, the quarterback. It has been way too long since this team has been in a position to do a clean sweep of everyone, and you could argue that that’s way overdue.
Why does this team seem to always value flawed FAs over their own drafted ascending players?

I would like to just vent about this topic i’ll keep it as short as I possibly can
Don’t know about anybody else but when I look at a quarterback, there’s a difference between regular season, big game, regular season and playoffs.
What everybody wants in a quarterback is someone that elevates their play in pressure situations That’s what made Marino great he took borderline garbage teams to higher levels, in pressure spots 2 min drills etc.
Eli Manning was an average quarterback in the regular season but what made him a Hall of Famer in my opinion he should be a Hall of Famer is in big games his play elevated to Hall of Fame level.
I really like Tua. But if we’re just assessing his play, his play digresses the bigger the moment. And that’s a problem.
Unless he turns into Steve Young this year, I would no way shape or form give him anywhere near that money, and more importantly, years.
Brock Purdy is a 7th round pick and runs the same offense dolphins run. And he took his team to the Super Bowl.
Mike McDaniel can get the most out of any young quarterback, look at Tua he didn’t even look like he belonged in the league Before Mike M. got there I think we would be fine if we found a quarterback in the second, third, fourth fifth or sixth around and pay them between 1 to $5 million then you can spend that money on getting the best offensive line in the game. And keep all your young studs on Defense like Phillips and Holland.
That may be the only way we can get to and win a Super Bowl, Instead of trying, so damn hard to just win a damn playoff game.
The 49ers are doing it right.
This team right now has Super Bowl caliber weapons.
The way I see it no more excuses after this year for Tua!
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. I don't disagree at all on your assessment of the 49ers and Purdy. Just keep in mind that the 49ers roster is better and more complete than Miami's, which has a lot to do with why they've had more playoff success than Miami.
I agree, make him play on his 5th year, tick him off, make him ball out and then pay him 65m+ APY next year, or he goes to another team and we go back into Cleo Lemon purgatory for 20 more years.. It's what this fanbase deserves. 🤷♂️
P.s. why do we talk about injuries? when the entire oline is 2nd/3rd string we say Tua should block for himself, so we should ignore all injuries, including Tua's.

The Dolphins were stupid to keep waiting to give Tua a contract and the longer they wait the more it will cost.
Ross and Grier always mess us up with good players. Tua is better than Trevor. Tua gets better every year but he can't control injuries and none of them play good in cold weather

Best qb we've had since Marino and they'll blow this and we will be screwed for years. True, they should of done signed him. Tua is not the only reason they lost their final games. Injuries and none of them play good in cold weather. Tua is definitely a top qb. Dolphins have not done right with Tua. Another team will end up grabbing him up. Tua beat Dak and he messes up at the end of every season. I believe he'll take 50 - 55 million unless another team has shown interest. Tua is better than Herbert also.
Tua needs to take a little more command on the field. Tua should stop the empty backfield sets on 3rd and 4th and short. Tua needs to check out of more pass plays to the run. If Tua evolves to an on the field general, pay him.
I applaud Grier.
Let him play on 5th year option.
If he balls out, pay him Elite money. Make him the highest paid QB in the league...

Drafts and trades happen every year. Ask the chiefs and rams
It will set us back for a long long time. If they don't pay Tua they will regret it for a long time. I believe they'll get something worked out.
