When you’re hiding your heel, use your secondary leg to wedge it behind your opponents butt so you can get your leg free. You wanna make sure when you push off, your secondary leg is behind both of his legs so you won’t get caught in double trouble. When you’re in double trouble, dont have your legs fully extended because it gives him the knee bar. When he tries transitioning your secondary leg across to a game over position, you have a quick opportunity to pull your secondary leg free whether it’s on their shoulder or transitioning across their body.
(Only because you asked) Beginning: Against that particular leg entaglement (inversion) what works for me is pushing the front leg down with my near arm & back pummeling my far leg on their back leg's knee/hamstring. You don't want to roll if you can help it because 1) gravity is on your side to smash and open their leg configuration and pull your knee line out & 2) Rolling is what they want as it gives them the space and leverage to get the finish. Middle: During the roll, your off-leg was way to low to ever get over his hooks. You almost want to high knee knee as your leg pummeling your foot out. It should should almost feel like your trying to do a forward splits. End: The position fucking sucks lmao. Only option would've been to unlock the legs he had around you in order to give your hips more space to move to prevent the breaking pressure. He can staple you to the ground with his knees too so it sucks but it's a fight
If you want to see another two absolute wizards in the 10p leg lock game, look at Kevin Beuhring (an up and coming competitor in the Atlanta bjj scene) and Ryan Aitken (two time Combat BJJ world champ). I'm very lucky to have trained with these two and have the upmost respect for them.
It's a Texas Cloverleaf, your ultimate goal is to get the leg on bottom back underneath you while bringing him closer to you rather than letting him fully extend (Texas Cloverleaf is also an Ankle Lock and Kneebar, so you cannot let him go Belly Down and Extend). Actual defense: Turn your heels out to avoid the Shin Break/Calf Crusher, Thai Clinch to stop him from extending away from you for the Ankle Lock/Kneebar, and use your elbows to break his grip on that lower leg, then pull that lower leg underneath you as you sit/stand up. You might end up in Single Leg X, but that's better than Saddle+Texas Cloverleaf.
Brother don’t listen to these dorks. Once he caught the other leg there is nothing to do but tap. You will get better with time just try to keep track of your limbs even when spinning so they don’t get caught. Great job
This guy is pretty much right. Once the second leg is caught there is pretty much only hail marys. Nothing truly technical. The one thing that can happen is what you mentioned in the video. For control you perfer a bend in the leg but when you go to break you generally extend the persons leg while pushing your hips for breaking pressure. If they extend your leg before they actually start applying breaking mechanics sometimes your leg can slip because your leg is straight and can be pulled out. It's a huge gamble though for very little statistical chance of getting out. Once the second leg is caught and the heel is exposed/caught... just tap man. It isn't worth it.
thank you for this gem! fyi your darce video suuuuper elevated by darce game. and don't worry about the loss bro. as long as you keep dropping good stuff like this, you'll always win
Great match break down. I think the problem is you've become emotionally attached too much to your knee cut pass because it's worked so much for you but it just wasmt the right approach because you were so pressured. Just my two cents,
Typically if you’re getting leg laced like that the best thing you can do with the time available is to go belly down onto your hands and back all of your weight into the opponent. This causes them to not have enough bridging pressure in the knee to finish it. Eventually they try to switch off to something else and that’s when you come back to the floor, face them and try to get your secondary leg free by pushing and pulling in a prayer position to dip the knee of the primary leg out of the opponents knee line.
1st mistake buddy he's not a leg locker he's a rubber guard player but you move to much so he decide to go legs 1st to see how your defense is Great match 🎉

It’s all about the journey
The 10p grants pass guys are great leg lockers and competitors in general.
