- Apparently, melee is pretty glitched in Rimworld when you combine it with doors. So with that, we're going to be creating an infinite stunlock melee killbox that beats just about everything AND has practical use outside of just your base's main entrance. Sit back, relax, and grab some pemmican as I show you arguably the most broken thing I've seen in Rimworld PERIOD!

The more complex the gameplay is, the easier it is to exploit it.
Rimworld is supposed to be an accurate simulation of war-torn canada. And like real life war-torn canada, it has many exploits the top 1% don't want you to know about.
Never thought about it but rimworld was essentially made by 1 guy and it had and still has less bugs and exploits than most games today.
You forget to mention the power of stacking dozens of animal in a single tile so they all attack at the same time when someone enters the killbox.
The problem with this method is that it has been greatly nerfed since 1.3. Since then only animals with at least intermediate trainability can be zoned

This setup actually does makes sense realistically - image this as a narrow corridor with small holes aka embrasures in walls from which your guys relentlessly poke enemies with random weapons(preferably pikes). They can easily do that, but good luck for hostiles trying to stick their sword back in that holes, or even shooting in while getting stabbed. Almost impossible.
So, yeh, realism.

edit: also, the alien precepts are from the "humaniod alien races" mod, it was added in one of the recent updates.

...This has aggressive The Spiffing Brit vibes. Also, with the tantrum thing, I used to punch walls when I got pissed off, and only once did it actually do something, which I still don't know what it did exactly, my knuckle swelled up significantly for a bit then went back down. Never broke my hand or anything, and I punched that wall quite a lot during my school years.
If I form a knuckle my pinky bone tilted down and yes I punch wall, maybe I should've punch differently. My experience is similar to yours, it'll swell but never broke; maybe they do but I don't know.

Well, since those raids are weaker than normal raids, you could melee rush it with good gear and be okay, even late game. Bonus point, mechs suck hard in melee.
@@clnetrooper late game this strat is def not working.. mech breach is really a pain to deal with and considering 90% of late game raid is breach raid this strat only work for early - mid game.. oh and Scyther is op at melee lol
@@nicolasbram165 Your thinking too narrowly about the implications of this bug. Raids cap out at 10,000 strength, so once you get enpugh desirable pawns, you can simply become superior to the enemy forces (without a mod to uncap raid strength). Its the early game when raids can become superior to your colony where cheap, potent killboxes, such as these, shine.

The only raid I can see beating this are mechanoid sappers, these kill hallways don't seem like they'd be good versus a thumper cannon
Well if you rush down and lock them in melee...
I would use drop pods + uranium mace wielders in the end game for that. If its a really nasty raid having a doomsday rocket launcher on hand can be a life saver.
So I have a mod that includes insanity and traq weapons. Never realised how broken it is until I made a mortor array filling them with insanity shells and bombarding anything that tries to attack, they turn berserk when affected. Then on chock points I just have endless tranq nades being thrown. Which for some reason also downs mechs.
It gets worse when you can just leave insanity shells in the Chock point and shoot it to make a improvised mine

Unbalanced? Nah, I like to believe they're like port holes that castles used to have, where you could spear and stab your enemy in the back while they enter what they think is the entrance.
Thanks to this I changed my killbox. The wiggle corridor goes instead of the funnel of sandbags after 15 gunners on the other side I need to think of a name...
I feel like I don't have much concentration, I tried to use that exploit of the lantern festivals that give infinite colonists, but I did it 2 times, I took 3 or 4 colonists and I completely forgot, it seems that it's not just the rimworld that's there buggy
EMP grenades actually do have a time limit and then mechanoids adapt. It takes them ~30 seconds to come out of the stun but it only works once. Also use maces on them for maximum carnage (particularly of the uranium variety).
Try playing with one guy and trap every colonist you gain in a hibernation pod

How can your colonist melee hit enemies if theyre within their reach? While mine, i need to select my colonist then right click the enemy. Sometimes, they just gonna go inside the doors 😩

Killboxes? This is unworthy! Because tree loving tribe that have Superior tree and clawers are soo good that they can yeet trumbo for 10 seconds and not fall
I mean it's an ok set up but will really only work for your run of the mill raids. sappers and breach raids and you're done.
That depends. iirc sapper AI can be exploited to lead them into killboxes using unpowered turrets, while breach raids are... bullshit. I usually disable them.

@@TheGrimKleaper I mean, at this point its quite clear that Vanilla combat is the broken thing and not CE (after it got compatibility edition) and needs overhaul at best, complete rework at worst.
This exploit you showed is mere fraction of what is wrong. The whole kitting, bullshit RNG and damage where one tribal with a knife can and will win against dude with Lee-Enfield because the somehow misses nine out of ten shots and the tenth shot does 7 damage to torso etc.
Its just abuse-fest and irritating RNG, nothing else. The fact that AI cant handle even slight cheesing is making it only worse.
@@vilemzadrobilek583 I meant broken in terms of modding. I can't play with half the mods I like to whenever I use combat extended. The incompatibles are insane (understandable, but insane)
