Are these always the first attempts?! That butter looks like it’s working out surprisingly well for a first go! (Gotta try this)

Anything you see is my first attempt… hence my huge surprise when it goes well and sense of resignation if it doesn’t go to plan!

Hmm, Jefferson's 'mistress' - aka Slave: Sally Hemming's brother (also his brother-in-law - half bro to his wife Martha) also bought Mac and Cheese to his attention. As part of Jeffersons' "attentions" to Sally, her brother went to France and learned a lot... that ultimately became 'American'
    Unsavoury facts.
I like the homemade butter! Will definitely try that!
Need to get hold of some Dirty Vicar!! Brilliant!
    Great channel, post more!

Definitely some suspect elements there, but it didn’t feel like my place to start lifting the lid on a founding father 😊
Do give the cheese and butter a try for sure, and thanks for your support. Let me know if there’s something from history you’d like me to look at for future episodes!

Hate to nitpick, but: curds and whey is what you get when making cheese; with butter, the liquid is buttermilk (useful for making rugbrauđ).
    Still awesome, though!
(I actually watched this video last week; it took me this long to think of a comment.)

You’re completely right, really silly from me. I did talk a bit about the buttermilk later on, but it got lost in the edit. I can only blame the excitement that comes from something actually going according to plan.

Thank you. It was surprisingly fun to say ‘dirty vicar’ that much without irony.

Flour, salt, shortening, and water. Best noodle/pie dough. Egg not required. You can even add spices. #PADUTCHCOOKIN'

The shortening is a great idea, thanks for the tip!
