  • Mound Bayou, a small town in northwest Mississippi, was an all black community. Although Medgar Evers' job there was selling insurance, he really became fascinated with the way the Negroes were trapped in poverty. He began looking for a solution. Part of that was organizing local branches of the NAACP and by late 1953, the state had 21 chapters.

    No wonder black people loved him (Medgar Evers) . I regret he lost his life and to the family may GOD forever bless you. I am so sorry for your loss. Jesus is Love
