I am 11 and my Cavalier is a tri color and I love him. He is very laid back and will do about whatever you want whenever you want. When you want him to play he will play, and when you want him to be calm, or sleep he will. He is never aggressive. The only time he is is when he is asleep and doesn't want to be messed with, when he has a certain type of bone ( when he growls about that we take it away ), or when someone is hurting his master, ( which is me ). Our family is very busy, and he is the most perfect dog ever!!! if you don't have one I definitely recommend one to you.
I love cavaliers. My cavalier was beautiful like all cavaliers. She was taken from me by a spinless previous partner and his dreadful and wild children. I will always love her and miss her so much. Your programs warm my heart. Thank you so much. May God bless you my dear.

I says sally is my little girl. When she was a puppy I would hold her in one of my arms when I would take a nap. Now she lays beside or at the bottom of my feet. Love her!
Huge fan of Herky and Milton on IG here. Having recently lost my little Cavalier Charlie (my sweet furry soulmate R.I.P) I want to mention that the statistics for MVD and the reality of it are not talked about nearly enough. Nor are the realities of what the typical end of life-scenarios are. Cavaliers are by far my favorite breed and they are well worth the money, but do not be mislead. Statistically 99% of these sweet babies will need frequent visits to a cardiologist by age 8-9. Often earlier if they are not well bred. They may be having syncope episodes, (scary seizure-like fainting spells) will need many medications multiple times a day (which can be tricky if you don't work at home) and their care is quite costly and intense. That being said, they will remain as sweet and wonderful through all of this care as they ever were. I have no regrets in having a Cavalier or the many many thousands of dollars I spent during his MVD decline. Probably $10,000 at least. And that's the clincher. Unless you're ok putting down a beloved family member or offering them up for adoption at an early age because you can't afford their care you must plan to fork over significant money. You should factor this into your initial investment when you get a Cavalier. Honestly, they should have health insurance as soon as you can get it while their health is still great. Even better, start setting aside at least $20 dollars every month of their life to have a cushion to help pay for their inevitably costly care in their senior years. To get an idea of what life with senior Cavaliers can look like, check out Cavalier rescue sites and Instagram accounts like Mickey_the_senior_cavalier. Thankfully I am blessed to have been able to afford Charlie's end of life care, and stay at home for work so I could care for him and ensure his comfort, but I sure wish I had known what to expect when he was young and had prepared for it more emotionally and financially. All this said...I am still OBSESSED with Cavaliers. They are the MOST WONDERFUL angel babies ever. Know what you're getting into when you get one because they are beyond deserving of your researching and hunting high and low for the best bred dogs, or rescuing a senior whose family cannot afford their care. You will never regret a moment of having one.
We've enjoyed our CKCS for three years now. We've witnessed all the points made in this video: easy to train, gentle, lap-loving. She loves to retrieve a ball. Rarely barks, not excitable. A fine pet.

We have a tri colored Cavalier....she is our little Darling! One very important fact! They have to be on leash when you walk them. Number one killer of Cavaliers is being hit by cars! They get so excited outside and if they see someone they want to talk to or a squirrel or another dog they take off running! They don't listen if they are distracted! That's the only problem!! Talk to other Cavalier owners. We love our little girl! She is soooo friendly with small dogs, or big dogs doesn't matter...she has no fear!!!
Well my cavalier does that but I discipline him with a thin piece of news paper. And he hates it so although he have leash. I train him to obey me without the leash. So now when he sees someone walking , or squarel or bird he wanna chase. He looks at me first. He wants to chase so bad.. but scared to because I'll pop his butt. So I no longer have that problem with him running chasing people or anything. On the leash he walks along beside me.
We have a 3 month old Blenheim boy. We got him at 8 weeks from Royal Flush Cavaliers breeder for my daughter. She really likes the breed, and did her research on the breed.

Danielle T Yes, at least I try! We have travelling crate, a small one. When I’m away his pillow is inside and he takes naps there. the door is open during the night. He is not always happy when the door is closed but when nobody responds he just lay or bite his toys
Danielle T Our dog never slept in our bed from the first night at home he has his own and that was not a problem. He is travelling in the crate and sleeps until we arrive. His first journey was 3 hours and he even didn’t pee, I was so surprised😬

I've been in love with these angels since I got Nintendogs back in the day as a little kid. I've always wanted one and recently met one in my complex last week. She's such a sweetheart I'm always hoping to see her again. I wish I could get my hands on one of these babies without going to a pet store/breeder. But they're not very common at shelters- at least not in my state. (I've checked, a few wiener mixes but they're still soooooo far away)

We know a few Cavapoos and they are lovely little dogs. The ones I've met were very friendly but probably a bit more bouncy than most King Charles Spaniels. They all had gorgeous soft curly coats.

my king Charles sticks to me like glue lol and yes, unfortunately, he's got the syringomyelia problem ..constantly itching plus had a few fits ..love the little chap to bits tho and he finds his comfort being next to me all the time ....so little time we have with our little friends and I make his life as comfortable as possible
I have a one year old cavapoo (half miniature poodle and half cavalier king charles spaniel) and its so cute to see where he gets some of his personality and traits from! Its funny because half the time he's a cuddly, sleepy lap dog and then suddenly he's this jumpy ball of energy ahah!
I had a Cavalier King Charles up to a week and a half ago. She was ten years and nine months old. She was diagnosed with last stages of heart failure in September 2019 and she was on tablets up to her last days. But the tablets stopped working. She had a lot less energy , her breathing got a lot worse despite being on a tablet for heart and kidneys (1.25mg foretekore plus) one twice a day and one Lasix for the fluid on her lungs twice a day. Also her stomach was stolen from the fluids her body could no longer get rid of. So I had to make the extremely difficult decision to have her put to sleep.

do you know if it's ok or bad for them to uh... Listen to live music in their home? For example, if we're thinking one of them being owned by a musician that sings and plays piano regularly in their house? I'm still not sure whether dog ears are irritated/damaged by this or not, and not sure if it depends on the breed either.
as far as shedding goes i’ve grown up in a house full of dog hair so i’ve developed some immunity to allergies but during the heavy sheds of fall and spring i tend to take an allergy medication when needed. Sadly because i still live at home i do have to get both of my parents on board with allowing me to have a cavalier, my mom is totally cool with it but my dad wants another pug but because this is gonna be my dog and im paying for it with my own saved up money from when i was employed before the pandemic and money i earned from dog sitting recently so i’m getting the dog i want but if my parents want another pug for themselves i wont stop them we just really dont want another large dog
Not only do they need daily hair brushing, they also need regular hair cuts. We love these dogs a lot. Very good for those who like to lounge around all day, and want a pet to sleep on the bed with because they want to be as close as possible to you 99% of the time.
I had many dogs but the KC was by far the most loving, not as loyal as let's say the german shepherd, but most loving and beautiful dogs. My one is called George, although I only brush him once every two days but he still is a very healthy boy.

You are so right! Extremely high prey drive and should never EVER be off lead unless, of course. they are in a fenced area.

I have a one year old cavapoo (half miniature poodle and half cavalier king charles spaniel) and its so cute to see where he gets some of his personality and traits from! Its funny because half the time he's a cuddly, sleepy lap dog and then suddenly he's this jumpy ball of energy ahah!

I had a Cavalier King Charles up to a week and a half ago. She was ten years and nine months old. She was diagnosed with last stages of heart failure in September 2019 and she was on tablets up to her last days. But the tablets stopped working. She had a lot less energy , her breathing got a lot worse despite being on a tablet for heart and kidneys (1.25mg foretekore plus) one twice a day and one Lasix for the fluid on her lungs twice a day. Also her stomach was stolen from the fluids her body could no longer get rid of. So I had to make the extremely difficult decision to have her put to sleep.
They really are the cutest of all dogs.

do you know if it's ok or bad for them to uh... Listen to live music in their home? For example, if we're thinking one of them being owned by a musician that sings and plays piano regularly in their house? I'm still not sure whether dog ears are irritated/damaged by this or not, and not sure if it depends on the breed either.

as far as shedding goes i’ve grown up in a house full of dog hair so i’ve developed some immunity to allergies but during the heavy sheds of fall and spring i tend to take an allergy medication when needed. Sadly because i still live at home i do have to get both of my parents on board with allowing me to have a cavalier, my mom is totally cool with it but my dad wants another pug but because this is gonna be my dog and im paying for it with my own saved up money from when i was employed before the pandemic and money i earned from dog sitting recently so i’m getting the dog i want but if my parents want another pug for themselves i wont stop them we just really dont want another large dog

Not only do they need daily hair brushing, they also need regular hair cuts. We love these dogs a lot. Very good for those who like to lounge around all day, and want a pet to sleep on the bed with because they want to be as close as possible to you 99% of the time.
I had many dogs but the KC was by far the most loving, not as loyal as let's say the german shepherd, but most loving and beautiful dogs. My one is called George, although I only brush him once every two days but he still is a very healthy boy.
