I want my dorm to look exactly like Ashlyn’s by the colors and organization are so cute and it won’t be over cluttered with decor therefore being less expensive

Your dorms an amazing view! I assume either even or odd room number have a view. Is this the case and can you please share if your dorm number even or odd?
Thank you! At the time, I was in tower 2 and my room number was even. I think it’s the same for tower 1, in terms of room numbers coordinating with the view, but you could call ASU to double check :)

Do you know how high the beds are? Would like to maximize storage. Where did you get the bathroom bamboo storage shelves? measurements would be helpful but on TP website they are minimal. Love the set up of your common area
Thank you! I got the bamboo storage shelves from Target! I don’t have exact measurements for anything off the top of my head because I just moved out, but the beds are a little bit higher than a standard hamper basket if that helps

Do the even or odd rooms have the outward facing windows like you have? I know you said across the hall they see the other building

does the bed and desk come included in the dorm? also - how is the laundry situation?
Hi! The desk and bed come with the dorm. The mattress is pretty hard though so I suggest getting a mattress topper. There are two washers and two dryers on each floor. After a few weeks, you’ll get a feel for which times are busy to do laundry and which times are not. I never had any issues with it!

omg i got into barrett too and asu is my top choice and id be majoring in medical sciences too!! i want to dorm in a room that has the city view!! can we choose which room we would like to dorm in? btw LOVE YOUR ROOM! I'm soo exciteddd ahhh
Congratulations!! Yes, you can choose your dorm among the rooms available. The view just depends on the number of the room (if it’s even or odd and on which floor). I’m not sure if the view varies by floor or tower, so you can always call the housing office to confirm. Again, congrats!!!

Where did you get the shower curtain and what size is it?
I got the shower curtain from Bed Bath & Beyond and it came in one size, if I remember correctly.
Question!!! Can you lock your own private dorm door for when you leave the entire dorm space? Or only lock it from the inside when your in your private room?
The main door to the shared dorm automatically locks when you leave. You can lock your own private dorm door from the inside when you're in your private room, and you may also lock it from the outside with your key before you leave the dorm. Hope that answers your question!

I'm a junior and my major is social work with a minor in criminal justice and I want to live downtown so bad, but it always gets full down there and then I can never live there. :'(
Hey! Im planning on living at Taylor Place in the fall if I end up going to ASU! Did you get to decide which tower u get to be in? I really want the suite style rooms but idk how to request one. :)
Hey! In your housing portal you will see what rooms are available. Tower 2 has the style rooms I’m in and I was able to just choose it. They run out fast! So if you want Tower 2 and not Tower 1 I would choose your dorm as soon as possible

@@gabefgarza hey there! Taylor Place has two towers. Tower 1 dorms have a different floor plan than tower 2 dorms, which is the differing style I was referring to. Tower 1 dorms are shared bedroom, shared bath. Tower 2 dorms are single bedroom, shared bath.

Hi, I was wondering do you know if Taylor Place allows you to loft your beds?
Hi! When I entered the dorm my bed was already lofted. Unfortunately, you cannot loft it any higher than how mine is displayed in the video- if that helps you get an idea

do you recommend downtown phoenix? i’m trying to decide between tempe and downtown!
I would say it depends on your classes and extracurriculars. All of my classes as of now are either online or in Downtown Phx so living in Phx is more convenient for me. However, I do have to drive to Tempe every week for my sorority and other events. Tempe is more social while Phx is smaller and more studious I would say.
Yooo I'm actually from ASU🌵 but we don't have that kind of view from guy's room 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ y'all are so lucky!!

Is the desk chair comfortable? I'm a Mom of a possible Barrett student 2021-22.
I thought that the chair was fine in terms of comfort. Some students I know add pillow/cushion attachments to it for extra support. The chair does rock a little bit if you lean too far back though.

What color is the floor carpet that is installed?
It depends on what floor you’re on I think. On my floor, the carpet was a neutral and gray tone but on another floor I saw that some dorms had multi-colored carpet installed
@@ashlynrobinette Are there multiple floors for Barrett students at Taylor Tower 2? I'm trying to decide what color to do the duvet and area rug. I'm concerned that a cream area rug will show dirt.
Barrett students in both towers live on floors 12 and 14. My roommate had a cream rug in her room and didn’t have any issues, however, if you’re concerned I would suggest bringing a vacuum
Are you in the 6k dorms or the 9k dorms ?

If I'm applying for housing. How would I guarantee a room that has a view of the outside of the buildings rather than the opposite building? Is it a certain room number or set of room numbers (odd/even)?
Hi! For tower 2, the rooms with a nice view are even numbers. I think it’s the same for tower 1 but you could call ASU to double check :)

Hi! For tower 2, choose an even number room for a nice view. I'm not sure if it's the same for tower 1 so you could call ASU Housing to confirm.

Thank you! My closet curtain I bought off of Amazon was 52x84 inches while my bathroom shower curtain from Bed Bath & Beyond was 70x72 inches

Hi! ASU is my dream college! How do you get into Taylor place?
Hey! I hope you get into ASU!! If you have a major at ASU’s Downtown Phoenix campus then Taylor Place would be where you’d live, assuming you don’t choose to live at home. After being accepted into ASU you would just have to apply for Taylor Place housing :)
