Stavros, I want to thank you for posting these videos. Not only is it fascinating to watch you work, but I actually learn something from them as well. I made a router plane about a year ago using a hex key for the cutter and it works really well but it's a little large and I'm ready to try and do a smaller version like this one, and using tool steel that I bought online. I don't have enough chisels to allow one to be a donor for this project and the steel was inexpensive. Less expensive than even a cheep chisel. Thanks again for the inspiration.

A thing i like about your tool making is how versatile your thinking is when it comes time to adapt things to make into part of the tool, rather than going out and buying a fixing, make one, it just takes the whole process to another level of ingeniousness. )
Clever use of an old chisel for the plane iron. I'm planning on using large, old Allen wrenches. Suitably heated, bent and tempered, they should do just as well. And being of several sizes, I can make a few different widths, and angled/pointed ones.

Od razu się przyznam że wszystkich Twoich filmów nie oglądałem.A co do filmu to nieźle Ci wyszedł ten strug, chociaż spodziewałem się większego, i nie wpadłem na pomysł żeby nóż zrobić z dłuta. Musiało to być dobre dłuto. Hartowałeś je? Bo na filmie chyba tego nie było, raz widziałem że zanurzyłeś w oleju lub wodzie ale to chyba nie hartowanie nie było.

Thank you! Yes, you have right. It was cheap chisel made of weak steel so i skip tempering process. It was temporary router plane blade. I was looking for real router plane blade and i changed it for this th-cam.com/video/1SAaWWwadS4/w-d-xo.html
