Good info! I have a video in my editing queue to show what my electrician setup around power connection to the house. He suggested that we get the ATS now since it saves us money on the install side to put it in now vs a retro fit. I have not ordered a gennie yet and like your idea of waiting to get a few months run time to see what power usage really is. I am nto sure if my power company will give me a report like you had. I did install an "Emphoria Energy" in my little cabin so maybe I need one of those in my house as well to help make my own report. I checked my Emphora and it appears my cabin has a 6kw peak pull on the per-minute breakout. I sent myself the raw CSV data to look closer. I never considered looking at this data to size a generator, good idea on your report!
BTW, I love how you edit the thumbnails. I am told that me not having good thumbnails hurts my videos, folks like those catchy thumbnails, suck them in factor :)
I like the idea of the switching going in at the same time as the panel, from what I saw today on my install it will definitely be the smart way to go.
@ Thanks, I don't watch a ton of "how to YT" vids but the couple i have watched talk about thumbnails and titles. Looking at my past videos, there does seem to be some evidence to support that, so for 2025 I'm going to try and do a better job. See if I can hit the magic, 1000 subscriber mark this year.
