SOMETHING I DIDN’T NOTICE BEFORE: peep that when all the clones get all crackly with the red veins in their faces, it’s not clone chanyeol 👀 has chanyeol been the spy all along?
my biggest question has to do with their powers. do both versions have access to their respective power? because this mv makes me think no. junmyeon defeats x-junmyeon by sucking the water out of his cells(?) but x-junmyeon doesn’t seem to ever use water to his advantage. sehun has to rely on his crossbow because x-sehun has wind (which he uses to redirect the arrows to hit the throne and sehun himself). x-chanyeol uses fire to attack chanyeol who only ever seemingly uses his fists. the other 3 are a little less clear on this tho. baek and x-baek fence, and it feels like light is never really used (except maybe at 1:09 when we get the weird strobe-y effect, but idk who’s causing that of the two). jongin and x-jongin kinda just circle each other (though you could argue that the swishing imagery of x-jongin’s flag symbolizes teleportation, which jongin never uses). dae is really the oddball out. neither of them ever use lightning and they don’t even physically fight (maybe neither of them have access to the power...?). instead it’s this chess game. dae saved exo in power mv before, so I wonder if this is kinda the continuation of that theme? that he realizes that powers alone can’t win this fight (esp in sehun’s and chanyeol’s case)? so he’s playing a strategic game instead? idk. I’m really curious to know where this fits in with power mv specifically though, because it seems like the missing/stolen orbs is directly connected to who has access to each power in this mv
Jessica Yes!!!! I agree with all of this. It could def be argued that when the red force stole their powers to replicate them, not everyone really got their powers back. I will say tho that the only thing that stumps me in this train of thought, is that if you watch closely, BOTH Chanyeols DO use fire, at the same time, and that’s the only time that’s showcased (but Chanyeol is also the only one who’s Good counterpart turns into a red veiny mess) so Chanyeol overall is a bit of an enigma, esp since Power when he had the red eye. And I definitely think the Jongdaes were in a way, the show runners. The strategizers. Their fight was with wit, not fists/power. Edit: Also I’d bet neither Baekhyun has power, because the RF were never able to replicate Baek’s power because his orb was hidden. If the real Baekhyun does have his power, I bet he’s hiding it.
Kylie Hughes I did see a slowed down gif set of the pcy fight, and you’re right. there’s definitely some aspect of fire that regular yeol still has. but it only looks like the tiniest spark? maybe the whole power absorption thing is like a valve where the more the clone siphons away, the less the og members have. so it is possible (to an extent) for them both to have some access to the power. I have no ideas about the weird red eye/vein things tho. shit is an enigma haha (p.s. I totally didn’t even think about the bbh power orb being missing in power. that makes a lot of sense)
