Welsummer chicken finally start laying eggs

Try covering the nest box. I think they are most comfortable if they feel less exposed. Their instinct is to hide their eggs.

Usually the first eggs that a hen lays are always small compared to what she’ll lay later on. I’ve heard that their eggs also get a bit darker with age but I don’t know if that’s accurate

Thanks for the comment. update they did start laying. But then stopped again weird.

The reason your eggs are small is because they are still Young

Thanks. The newest ones do have more speckles. So I am hopeful they will progressively get better.
