I found an old newspaper article about this, it was a murder suicide. She was Sarah Patterson Dickerson and she was murdered by her husband Claude Dickerson. The article reads: "Claude Dickerson, a young farmer residing in Clarksville, shot and killed his wife a few days ago and then killed himself. Dickerson returned a short time ago from Oklahoma, where he failed to find employment. Returning home he was unable to get work. His wife was teaching a country school, and he waylaid her on her way from the school, shooting her and then killing himself. They had been married 3 years and are survived by a small child. My brother and I asked our family to put our Mother's maiden name on the family tomb because our dad treated her so badly and abandoned us. They complied with our wishes and our family abandoned our dad by refusing to recognize his existence in her life.
There is nothing to compare to an old remote cemetery to draw out my deepest emotions. Thank you for paying respects to these dear people forgotten in the unstoppable march of Time.

I know of a very young lady, also 18, named Patsy who was shot by her estranged husband. Then he shot himself. Left behind two small children. Her maiden name is on the gravestone.

I worked up a family history for a friend who was related to this Sarah Patterson. Yes, Patterson was her maiden name. The newspaper article stated it was jealous rage on his part. They had been separated about 3 weeks, she had went back home to her parent's home. He knew her routine of walking to and from school, she was a teacher. He waited for her by the road, there was a confrontation then he shot her. So sad.....😢 I have so many relatives buried here. My mom is from there, born in Oark.
The Lewis grave reads, Weep not dear husband and little children for me. For I am waiting in glory for thee in that blessed home happy home where parting and trouble will never come. You read it right.
OMG about fell out of my chair I have family buried in that cemetery my 84 year old Mother lives near Horsehead lake. Hope you had a burger at the Oark Cafe my Great Grandparents bought a lot of groceries there when it was a store. A lot of history around there.
There was a grave at Wininger Cemetery in Hillham Indiana that had a grave for a man named Charles Ballard and it said killed by Knoefel Line for years and years and then one day it was gone and a plain stone with his name replaced it. I would love, love, love if you could research it and find a photograph of the original somehow.

what a different angle on the information on how they passed away. Domestic violence has always been with us. It's terribly sad. Waiting to tour the little 3 yr olds story.

I work for a domestic violence shelter, and one of the things we see a lot is an increase in violence during and after pregnancy, especially in victims ages 18-24. I wonder if that would have been a factor in this case too.

@barbaraschleiff3774 I know, right? I would think that too...but I swear-the stonework, the dates, and the proximity say those were her parents. I kept going back over that part of the video, it really nags at me for some reason. It would be interesting to find out...sometimes the older stories get a wee bit confused over the years. Especially when it is still within families, etc. Perhaps they kept their daughters married name on the stone for the sake of the baby? I seriously don't know why this gripped me; it just did.
